The "vasen vieras / oikea oma" is similar to a saying in English: "Righty tighty, lefty loosey."
This is useful if you're trying to loosen or tighten a bolt, and you've never touched a wrench before in your life.

If you say: nousen ylös = I get up, which also means to wake up
