  • You're all trained up on rally driving and ready to compete in an event, but you don't have a rally car. Chris Cyr and Ryan Thompson discus the pros and cons of building or buying a rally car.

Watched this from beginning to end and it was so helpful for my own rally journey. Currently deciding which way to go myself... build or buy. Time to break out the pros and cons list 😄 Thanks guys!

For me there is no question, build! Because you know exactly what's what and know that everything is done correct. It's way better to have a lower class car 100% than to have a higher class car with corners cut everywhere that can brake down on you. If you buy one you realy need to make sure that all is right and there is no hidden damage or were on expencive components.

I would definitely say buy. I've seen multiple rally used and ready cars for sale that are cheaper than what I've spent so far and my car is nowhere near ready.

Why do some people clutch in no break while turning. I specifically saw this guy on a sim a medium turn while letting go of the gas and clutching in without breaking.

Because when you clutch in your wheels keep spinning but you don’t go any faster because there’s no more power going to the transmission. You don’t always want to lock your wheels when turning

@@beatsbyry with the clutch engaged and no throttle input, you get engine brake which is like passive braking. you can preserve your brakes when you just need to slow down a bit.
