Reminds me of the neighborhood drug dealer when I was growing up. He had nothing but kids selling his drugs and they were all very loyal to him. One of them even took a murder charge for him.
I remember when I was 22 yrs old, a friend invited me to a party in chapel hill NC. It was the first time I’ve been to a college party, first time around college folks having fun, drinking and smoking, and meeting new people. My friend introduced me to a dude who was like in his mid 40s. He wasn’t showing gray hairs and looked vibrant, but you could tell he was a lot older. Folks overlooked it because he sold weed and had a hookup with getting kegs, which is what people told me, but he was always at every party and he was living the life being known around that college town. Fast forward to my late 30s and I looked back at that guy and couldn’t help think that was some incredibly loser sht. Sure, kids in college are technically adults but if you’re 40+ hanging out with 20 yr olds, you’re essentially telling stories, bragging and getting validation from kids. That’s some borderline predatory/arrested development/insecure type of sht.

That right there shows the sad state of our veterans. They put their lives on the line, yet get screwed over when they come home. Sure, not all of them, but it's still too many Granted I can see why it wasn’t used as we aren’t supposed to sympathize with nazis, and Cameron using the N word to describe African Americans here when complaining about benefits was completely uncalled for and out of line, and completely invalidated his argument
@@mattmaccaronio5990True, but not in the way they make it out to be. Veterans definitely get screwed over, despite their service, but not for the reasons Cameron indicates.
The homeless veteran used all the money they gave him to buy out all the gum, so the taco chef got on the phone during the racial confrontation to order a restock.
I used to find it funny that Ethan Suplee had the range to do this when I first knew him from My Name Is Earl. But now I've seen that, before this, he played the most pure, naturally non-racist character in Remember the Titans, he has me even more bloody impressed. Go Ethan Suplee
One interesting detail is seeing that the car in the end of this scene is the same car passing by Derek before the scene where Danny is shot at school. There's a strong feeling of tension when the car drives by, Derek is looking at it but it just passes on by, there's just one single driver inside. Just a false alarm for the audience before the actual tragedy appears. Little Henry who's sitting in the car in the deleted scene is obviously not in the car because he's at school waiting to unleash his anger. With this scene, there could've been a greater sense of tension and surprise for the ending.
I finally watched this film the other day and stumbled upon this yesterday. I have to say this scene for some reason attracts me to it, the acting, the atmosphere, its perfect. Why did they cut it? I don’t see how this would have effected the plot, in fact I think it helps explain a lot, brilliant scene with brilliant acting on everyone’s part.
The plot between these two characters just doesnt get fleshed out. My guess is that it was cut for time. And im watching the movie right now and it just wouldnt seem right and would interrupt the flow of the movie in my opinion
@@ramonalejandrosuare Yea, but they didnt have any grudge against them, except Danny steping up for the kid in the bathroom that was beaten up by some black boys. He confronted them and that maybe pissed off the kid that killed him and was telling the dudes on the basketball court about them. Those guys that beaten Cameroon and Seth didnt know who they were, they just beated them out of their own whim. What im saying is that it dosent change the motive of the kid that killed Danny in the end it was pretty much the same as we saw in the movie, but it does make a question what happend to Cam and Seth. Beside the black dudes beating 2 white guys i think the reasoning for lefting it off is Cameroons way of thinking that he put up in this scene. He is saying that people are only doing this today because its "politcly correct" and want to be on the "right side" by his way of thinking. He is right about society telling people today how they should act and what they should do, this kind of thinking is what society wants to surpress today. Ofcourse Cameroon is wrong in this case, but as an way of thinking generally he isnt...
I think they took it out because it supported stereotypes and was a little too revealing about modern women. They just started letting Africans into Australia over the last few years and Australian women that will not look at an average Aussie guy will bump nasties with them at the drop of a hat. They’re all coming here with government support while Aussies who built the country are going homeless due to housing crisis from mass immigration.
Seth was so hurt and confused. Derek was probably his only real friend and this scene shows that he really didn't want to hurt him. As horrible as he is, deep down Seth was a victim you can tell he doesn't hold these values more than skin deep. He just wanted a place where he could feel respected, accepted and/or feared for the only time in his life. Just someone with a lot of insecurities on the wrong side of a lot of predatory indoctrination. Notice how throughout the film he doesn't have the cognitive ability to express any of his own independant opinions.
@@joewhitehead3 ah but that involves smashing the magic "he's a racist" button and not thinking about things with a bit of nuance. Seth might have still been a victim, EVEN IF HE WAS RACIST. He was a victim because he was a younger, dumber person compared to this manipulative predator Cam, who who spread his ideology to others. To say Seth deserves zero sympathy is to say no one ever influenced or tricked by a charismatic leader or ideology deserves sympathy. Directed by the great John Huston, and also starring a very young Jeff Bridges along with some other terrific talent, it's the kind of film realism you just won't see in films today.

What truth?
The truth about the tacos.

The look on his face when he asked if he could make a video!😂
Ik right hahaha, kind of like a "oh man I'm making a big mistake" face
I love how derek exposes cameron for the liar he is about doing hard time. The guy hangs out with kids .
And for him and Seth Ryan to call him a “traitor pussy” just proved their own ignorance, which they’re not aware of that they have.
Cameron definitely knows which age group to target when it comes to indoctrination
@@steverogers7601he probably was a dude who couldn't get chicks his own age nor could relate to people his own age that have careers which is why he was hanging out with college aged people.

Definitely should have kept this scene. Really showed Cameron's true motives more clearly.
Nah, It would have taken away from telling Derek and Danny's story.
They shouldn’t have kept this scene are you kidding? The dialogue is so clunky and ham-fisted. If the movie was all this no one would remember it today.
@@jasong7373 Hamfisted my ass, the reason the movie turned up so well is they cut good scenes too. They just needed another take for Seth to be more fluid.
I think they wanted the propaganda to be more subtle.

This exchange with the homeless veteran is so great, it should have been included in the final cut
That right there shows the sad state of our veterans.
They put their lives on the line, yet get screwed over when they come home. Sure, not all of them, but it's still too many
Granted I can see why it wasn’t used as we aren’t supposed to sympathize with nazis, and Cameron using the N word to describe African Americans here when complaining about benefits was completely uncalled for and out of line, and completely invalidated his argument

I guess this scene wasn't all shot the same night and they went back to do more filming and the gumball machines had been refilled...lol
I used to find it funny that Ethan Suplee had the range to do this when I first knew him from My Name Is Earl. But now I've seen that, before this, he played the most pure, naturally non-racist character in Remember the Titans, he has me even more bloody impressed. Go Ethan Suplee
And now he lost weight and went to Scientology.
Any actor can act on both ends of the spectrum if they're worth a fuck.
Actually before that It was “boy meets world”
Have you seen him in clerks?
One interesting detail is seeing that the car in the end of this scene is the same car passing by Derek before the scene where Danny is shot at school. There's a strong feeling of tension when the car drives by, Derek is looking at it but it just passes on by, there's just one single driver inside. Just a false alarm for the audience before the actual tragedy appears. Little Henry who's sitting in the car in the deleted scene is obviously not in the car because he's at school waiting to unleash his anger. With this scene, there could've been a greater sense of tension and surprise for the ending.
lol, i'm not surprised that they cut this out. The musical comedy part it's way to funny for this movie. xD

Because we can't show 4 blacks with weapons going after two white guys.
@@davidtaylor994 So stupid, the same gang is the one that kills Danny's brother.
@r33mote 1 on 1 with a gun. I'd rather get jumped 4 on 2 than shot 1 on 1. But do you.
It’s interesting how Cam immediately starts grooming Seth to step up and take over from Derek the second that he knows he’s lost control of him.
well I mean, considering the cut original ending of this movie I'd say Derek went back to being a skinhead
Deleted scene or not, this scene felt real. It should’ve been kept in the flick.
Yeah, I don’t think he really deserves sympathy
@@joewhitehead3 ah but that involves smashing the magic "he's a racist" button and not thinking about things with a bit of nuance. Seth might have still been a victim, EVEN IF HE WAS RACIST. He was a victim because he was a younger, dumber person compared to this manipulative predator Cam, who who spread his ideology to others. To say Seth deserves zero sympathy is to say no one ever influenced or tricked by a charismatic leader or ideology deserves sympathy. People have killed and maimed countless times throughout history because someone interesting told them too, we just tend to only remember the example of the Nazis.
seems pretty needed of a group considering the ending of this scene, they weren't skulking in the shadows with bats, beating people.
