You mentioned every reason I love the Henry Homesteader no optic cut, no m lok, no light rail just a traditional wood stocked carbine. Mine has the Glock magwell and I’m around 2200 rds without a hiccup through mine. My Ruger PCC went to my son after I confirmed my Homestesder worked as advertised.

Merely pointing out that Glock has been resting on their laurels lately does NOT make you a Glock hater, it makes you a honest consumer and reviewer of firearms…
I really wanted to like the Glock and was excited to fire one for the first time. It was an awful experience. The grip angle was unnatural, the grip shape was like picking up a 2x3, and my trigger finger was forced down to rub on the inside of the trigger guard. 😞
Moved on to the Springfield xd for my plastic pistol fix. Feels like it was made for me and I shoot it better than my buddy shoots his Glock. Heck, even he shoots my xd better than he shoots his Glock.
The Henry Homesteader looks like it was intended to replace the old Marlin Camp Carbine. It's something we Boomers remember fondly. If Henry gets it to run, I'll buy one.
I would love to see a top 5 of guns that outperformed your expectations. It would be interesting to hear why you thought it was going to suck and what about shooting it changed your mind.

I honestly don’t know how people call you a Glock hater. You have literally a history of videos praising them BUT also calling out their shortcomings. You are HONEST. Keep it real beard daddy
People are just lazy when it comes to counter arguments. It is much easier for idiots to just deflect or insult than actually form a detailed coherent argument.
Dude, glock fan boys are crazy. The leaps they'll go through to protect that company is nauseating. There are plenty of fanboys out there, but glock has soon many of them.
I've owned a Glock for a LONG time. I like the brand as it was a significant breakthrough back in the 80's. The main problem with them is they virtually stopped innovating pretty much also on the 80's. IMO the pinnacle was the G19 version 3. The clone manufacturers are showing what Glock could have been, even the PSA versions.
I will agree the Glock platform has lacked innovation. But in their ego driven chunk of marketplace, they're stuck up as a company. They got things so right with their original design, I feel like they never wanted to change something that worked. Sure they beefed up locking blocks, changed rail design, finger grooves a few times and such, but it's still very much the same gun. It's boringly reliable however which is why they still rule the market. I bought the lipseys p80 gen 1 a few years back. Super cool piece of history, however I have to laugh when I hold it against my gen 3 and 4 17s. It's very very similar.
I say this a lot and man people get so mad when i do. I dont understand how they cant comprehend that most guns now are just better and more fleshed out than a glock will be. Their only comebacks are "muh law enforcement/soldiers use it!" or some bs about the aftermarket, which is a big plus dont get me wrong. Ill take a P-10c or a P-07 any day
@@SuicidalChocolateSK better is subjective. There are old timers out there with 70 year old tack drivers in "obsolete" platforms. Don't think glock isn't competitive because you shoot something else better. There are people in every platform who can blow us all out of the water in platforms you find inferior or have never shot. Glock still has the reliability and time that proves it's worth. My Glock 17 I bought 16 or 17 years ago is still going well after 60k rounds. I stopped counting. I only change springs and it's just as good as my new s&w m&ps as far as accuracy.
Love you guys- I haven't heard anyone else CALL A SPADE A SPADE like you do Chris, this is the reason why I come here. True to your name, you show honesty in whatever you get into. Thank you and the little lady for doing all this and keeping it REAL, real honest.
The main point of the G47 is that it allows CBP to stock one kind of recoil spring assembly for the G19/45/47. From an armorer/large agency perspective (federal LE generally practice/train more than municipal and shoot more rounds in the academy), this makes sense. For everyone else, benefits are more limited.
@@claytondennis8034 Why would CBP buy separate slides? They're just offering 2 different sizes of guns the way that the FBI does with the 17M and 19M, CBP isn't going to be swapping slides. It's a big enough contract that Glock was willing to make a new model, and it probably will save Glock money in the long run (G17 MOS is getting dropped for the G47 MOS).
They wanted to be special. Should have simply bought a 45. Their special Glock 26 mod1 is stupid as well. Blaming Glock for making the guns CBP wanted is misguided. See also, Glock 28 and 46.
@@JA-oo9qp I suppose if you also argue that the G17 should be phased out entirely, you'd be consistent with that arguement. Besides, the FBI being special is how we got the 17/19M that led to Gen 5 Glocks, the army deciding to be special is how we got the G19X that morphed into the G45.
@@thebenior Not all RFI’s are equal. Each of those acquisitions were quite different. With the FBI having more performance based requirements whereas the CBP was basically about having commonality between recoil spring assemblies. Makes even less sense when you understand they also requested a Glock 26 which can’t accept any current Glock 26 magazines. The CBP and Army RFIs both read as if they were written by bureaucrats because that’s exactly what happened.
I wasn't surprised about the Homesteader. For gun reviews you are the only person I honestly rely on when it comes to reviews. Most other gun reviews just boast about the product and don't ever point out the flaws; if they do, it's brief. When I watched your review of the homesteader I had the same mindset about it. I'm a huge henry fan but when I saw the number of malfunctions with it--made my heart sink to be honest. I hope they reconsider it for improvements in the future, would be an amazing carbine to own.
Having a gun physically damage your hand is completely unacceptable and in my opinion is no better than one that consistently malfunctions. I consider it a malfunction.
The part that I find the most amusing... Taurus isn't on the list! Honestly so much of what they've made in the last 5 years has been so much better than they have any right to be.
Taurus has really upped their game recently. The TX22 especially at half the price of most .22lr pistols and still punches above its weight class. That being said, since the bar is so low for Taurus I don't think many would be "disappointed" if they bought one and it didnt work great. Expectation is already low.
YES agree, I have a Taurus G2C that shoots every bit as good as some of my $500-$600 pistols and I paid $200 new for it .. a friend of mine has the GX4 and I was amazed how well it felt in my hands and how well it shot Taurus has stepped up their game, BUT still, you have those people who will continue to call them junk
I don't understand this comment..what do you think..that the Taurus factory is staffed by folks on the spectrum with one job coach watching over the production line?
@@Lawyerboyleslie72 Taurus had a long standing reputation in the 90s for putting out unreliable junk for their automatic pistols. Since many in the gun community made their opinions for life in their 20s then never reflected or revised them since the reputation stuck.

Like, what on earth would the motivation be? Especially for something like the Homesteader.
Being honest doesn't make you a hater. Often times criticism means you care and want to make what you're criticizing better. I appreciate this list, as I haven't been watching you until a couple of months ago.
Same here, the issues its that he bough the gun used, with the wrong sight. Its realy a great gun. He should revisit that review with a brand new piece.
Same here. I have one of the first batch, last one Rainer Arms stocked. No issues, and it’s been a joy to shoot. I’d carry it all the time, but I haven’t gotten around to making a holster, and my VP-9 is all I really need. I’m definitely a little faster on follow up shots with the Strike One, though!
I love my Cheetah, it fits my hand just fine with no hammer bite, but it was rather expensive. However, I don't plan on using it for CCW because it's a bit too large and heavy. I'm now using a Sig P365 380 for CCW (.380 due to hand strength issues as a result of Dupuytren's contracture and arthritis). The Cheetah is simply a fun collectible for me.
@warrenharrison9490 Mrs. Outlaw is a savage at the range. The reason guns work for her and no other is simple..... They all be scared of her. Them guns know if they don't work for her, it's the wood chipper out back from them....lol Mrs. Outlaw is awesome, and her female perspective on firearms is great.
I was so excited for the Homsteader as well. It felt like a way to get an M1 Carbine fix without having to find a good one and worry about bad mags. At this point I'm probably going to just get a Ruger PC Carbine and buy one of those wood stocks some people make. It'd be about the same price, and you know it'll work Also you're wrong about everyone having a Glock. I don't, and God willing will never (mwahaha) I did get a CZ P-01 because of you. Finally a modern-ish carry gun that doesn't have a trigger safety.
The mc-14t from girsan was a hate crime. Had a few come into the shop on transfers and they all had problems. Girsan normally makes a solid gun at a good price, but this one just fleeced a few pf my older customers and I am not happy about it.
I have a few Shorts and an initial impressions video of the Girsan MC14T on my channel. I have had no issues with it, though the lack of an extractor worries me in case of a malfunction, so I wouldn’t carry it. Fun gun to shoot though. Nice trigger. Also have 2200 rounds through my Girsan Regard Gen 4 MC Sport.
@@Ali-7676quite frankly, I like both, but I wouldn’t rely on either for personal protection. So many other options out there that are more reliable and easier to use/clean.
I love my 80x, I mean absolutely love it. Not sure if comparing the weight of a steel gun to one of the billion plastic fantastics out there is apples to apples but…
If you could only carry one for the rest of your life what would it be? Striker or DA/SA which one and why? Thank you for everything you do for the firearms community, the time involved with reviewing filming, editing, shooting is always appreciated.

I very much agree with the Homesteader at #1. I’ve been looking for 9mm pcc, and thought the homesteader could be the one, but nope. I’m hoping you Review the new S&W Response soon!
last 3 guns I'm with you. Glocks are Glocks bet my life on them any time. The Cheetah 80x is a niche gun I got one and love it because I knew what it was. No expectations of a small concealed carry gun. It is a nice 380 better than the Walther PP which is a chunky 380 with a horrible trigger. 80X has great trigger, good sights , MOS ready and I have no problem with slide bite, my hands are large, probably not as big as yours. The Cheetah 80x is everything i expected it to be I like it and it runs flawlessly!
I happen to really like the Beretta 80x I’m 6ft and have a decent size hand and have had no issue with it cutting or hurting my fingers. Yes is it big to carry sure but if you’re a fan of 92 platform you’ll like this gun.
Worst gun I purchased in 2023 was the S&W FPC. It tried to kill me twice. Would unlock during fire, bolt sent shrapnel, charging handle would come back an hit you in the teeth. Send it back 2 times for repair, Again after "repair" the folding lock came undone during fire. Got a refund from Scheels because they are awesome. S&W not so much.
I like your videos, can you make a complete beginners guide to suppressors? I’m trying to get one but like do I get a 30 caliber or 22 caliber for my 556.
The one positive of the 47 is getting a long slide on a 19 frame. That’s really it otherwise it offers nothing. They had to discontinue the 17 mos just to make it more appealing
@@nicolaalberti7736brownells, zev and a few other companies already make 17 size slides for 19 frames, the glock 47 can accept both 17 and 19 slides. Its a redundant and pointless gun

It is both odd and very sad that established companies produce such sub-par products. You'd think they'd actually test them before spending millions on production? Apparently they don't.
I get the exact same issues you had with the 80x with my PPK/s, for some reason 380s just love to dig into the webbing of my hand. I even have smaller hands compared to most people and yet it still loves to eat my hand.
Well, you beat us to the video of the Homesteader VS. PC carbine. We have a couple videos up of the PC in Action, but EXAAAACTLY like you said our thoughts where the Henry is double the price of the Ruger so it’s not practical for every homestead. THANKS! U10 Out.
For what it is worth, I run a gun channel. Tons and tons of reviews, I have like.. 1300 or so videos? 35k subs and 15 million views. I dont think I have a single glock on my channel. Never owned one. There are just so many options out there I would take over a glock. Especially for the asking price of them.
I’ll buy the Beretta from you. I was out yesterday looking for one at a couple stores, one of them was a big gun shop. Lots of guns a 100 yd indoor range lots of ammo but no 80x.
Some food for thought....The Standard Firearms double-barreled 22 Mag... With two of them firing at once it seems like that would be Hell on Wheels, doesn't it? Considering the actual velocity and the total amount of lead being discharged, this isn't any more powerful than a 380 acp. So, basically what we have is a 4-shot 380 with a 47-pound trigger pull. What a breakthrough.
Interesting video About lever guns: we have internal magazine feed ones, we had for a while, like the Winchester 1895, Savge 1899, etc...; why is so difficult to upgrade to a box magazine? 5) "Competition grade" triggers on carry guns are a no go for me, but that's a matter of preference. 4) But that's the point, to have a slightly bigger&heavier .380, in order to have a more confortable gun to shoot.
My experience with the ruger pc carbine was horrific. FTE'S galore by the time I got it back from ruger with a whole bunch of new parts I was completely over it and haven't put a round through it since. That was 3.5 years ago.
The king cobra was my first revolver buy back in 2020 and it sucked balls immediately. Shot 1 box of magtech .357 through it and it had massive issues ever since. After 3 months of colt 'fixing it' i got it back with nothing resolved. Sold it the next day. Also the S333 didnt come out in 2023 so i dont know why that wasnt an honorable mention
Marlin made a pistol caliber carbine that works back in the 80’s and 90’s. Pick up a Marlin Camp 9. I got a Camp 9 N for my daughter who is recoil and noise sensitive. She absolutely loves it, especially the looks. Cowboy guns appeal to everyone.
I appreciate how you tell it as it is and live up to your UA-cam name. As far as gun reviewers go, you are the best and its not even close. I watched 4-5 of your videos before realizing you were an Iowa boy too. Thanks for your time and effort put into these videos. 👍
Love your review man. Would love to see some reviews on low end firearms as well though. Rossi 45/410 single shot pistol for example. I've found that some low budget firearms are just a reliable as high end.

Glock did another release this year - they released the G20 in Gen 5. I'd been waiting for that for YEARS. I love 10mm, I love Glock, but I always hated the finger grooves and wanted the ambi slide release. Yeah, as soon as I could, I bought a Gen 5 Glock 20, a Blue Label (I'm a vet so I rate) with OEM Glock tritium sights. I love it. I hope they come out with the Performance Trigger for the large frame, because I still have the stock trigger in it, and I'm not sure if I'm gonna go with the new EOTech red dot or just get another SRO yet, but it's definitely a purchase that I'm very happy with and have taken into the woods many times loaded with some hard cast Underwood ammo.
I waited for your review of the Henry before buying one (thankfully). It kinda broke my heart watching the review because I wanted one so badly until the video came out.
I know it sounds crazy. But I thought the staccato CS might have made the list. Chris did the first shots 6 months ago! And we still haven’t got the full review. To take so long seems unusual for something he really likes. Accuracy issues perhaps? Wonder when we’ll get to see it here again.
Interesting. My CS is certainly not as accurate as my P! But I wouldn’t expect it to be. But also not as accurate as many of the other handguns I regularly shoot. Including far less expensive ones. I don’t mean to sound like an a** h**e. But saying your $2600 Staccato outshines your $450 Glock. Isn’t exactly high praise, is it? I’m still curious.. Wonder why we have not seen it since the first shots, 6 months ago? And never got a full review.
i have an older (90's) Ruger Police Carbine in 40cal, and i love it, the only thing i wish was different is that the newer ones can take different stocks, and i would like to have an adjustable stock on mine. They make a great gun, for the most part, especially if you dont want to break the bank.
Can we please get a Homesteader 1000 round video??? I got mine halfway through the year and am glad i did. Put the glock magwell on it before even trying the Henry one. Ive had very few issues after putting about 600 rounds through it. Came back to add- i purchased mine before watching any reviews, but during the 10 day waiting period i was concerned that i had bought a malfunction machine. Pleasantly surprised that was not the case. And the fact i can drop mag from my side arm and slam it into my rifle or vice versa is uber cool.
Disagree with the 47. If you don’t own a 19 or a 17 it’s a good option. Most people do but I put a red dot on mine switched to night sights and installed a glock pro trigger set up. I agree if you have the 19 and 17 not worth getting and I also agree they should have put the pro trigger system in. Love your content mate keep it up!
I just wish there was a Glock 19 size 380. That would be just for my wife in the home. She is quite confident with a 19 and nine obviously but follow up shots are slow. I had to cheat myself and it just isn’t great. I also don’t like the double single for her. If she practiced a lot she could operate it but that’s just not going to happen.
There was a Glock like that, I can't remember the number of the model, I don't know if they still make this model nor if it was imported in the US. I live in Italy, and I've seen some of them many years ago. There was also a. 380 model the same size of the 26.
I took a Girsan Regard Tactical to the range today and with a Holosun 407 green dot this pistol is really accurate shooting 147 grain Underwood Hard cast and Fiocchi 147 grain FMJ. Really happy with this firearm. The IWI Masada with the same set up was different story and will probably be trading it in.
Well now this was a interesting video and a very interesting topic. I was most disturbed by the Henry homesteader. I can't say that I really care that much for the looks, but Henry has always made such reliable lever guns that I just knew for sure there would be no problem with the homesteader. I have a marlin camp 45 ACP Carbine and it works flawlessly. Thanks for the most interesting content.

The shadow systems mr920 is what glock could and should have been
I say this a lot and man people get so mad when i do.
Dose anyone else get stuck binge watching this guy? 😂
I was in tears what you said about the "Volley Fire". Might be the best and funniest description of any gun I've ever heard.

They could have released a slide only option if that is the case. It didn't need its own model #
I’m disappointed that we live in an age that has no tolerance for nuance. I appreciate your detailed and nuanced reviews.

YES agree, I have a Taurus G2C that shoots every bit as good as some of my $500-$600 pistols and I paid $200 new for it .. a friend of mine has the GX4 and I was amazed how well it felt in my hands and how well it shot
Taurus has stepped up their game, BUT still, you have those people who will continue to call them junk
I don't understand this comment..what do you think..that the Taurus factory is staffed by folks on the spectrum with one job coach watching over the production line?
@@Lawyerboyleslie72well until very recently, their work said just that, yeah.

At that price point yeah...
"Collectable".. that's funny
Say what you will about Mrs Outlaw’s technique with the POF, she got more rounds off in a row than I’ve seen anyone do with that platform yet…
Yes she did. 😂

Mrs. Outlaw is a savage at the range. The reason guns work for her and no other is simple.....

Mrs. Outlaw is awesome, and her female perspective on firearms is great.
Jesus…get a room.
You do what works even if it looks goofy.
I was so excited for the Homsteader as well. It felt like a way to get an M1 Carbine fix without having to find a good one and worry about bad mags. At this point I'm probably going to just get a Ruger PC Carbine and buy one of those wood stocks some people make. It'd be about the same price, and you know it'll work
Also you're wrong about everyone having a Glock. I don't, and God willing will never (mwahaha)
I did get a CZ P-01 because of you.

Worst gun I purchased in 2023 was the S&W FPC. It tried to kill me twice. Would unlock during fire, bolt sent shrapnel, charging handle would come back an hit you in the teeth. Some food for thought....The Standard Firearms double-barreled 22 Mag... With two of them firing at once it seems like that would be Hell on Wheels, doesn't it?
