People with ASPD are more than capable of forming numerous emotional connections with other people. I think what you see with home lander, (let me be clear, I’m not diagnosing him, only stating what I think is likely in his situation), is factor 1 psychopathy, narcissistic personality disorder, and ASPD. Only very few individuals with psychopathy have been shown to form very slight emotional connections with other people. So homelander could be one of those individuals

Homelander's reaction to Ryan to the crowd shows he knows how overwhelming the powers can be, so he behaves like a understanding father figure for the first time since meeting Ryan and gets him out of there as fast as possible. This scene makes Ryan choosing Billy over Homelander SO much more painful.
You can tell HL really wants to be a dad. He wants to be the parent he never had. Problem is he just doesn’t have those skills and instincts yet. He’s struggling to let out his warmth after a lifetime of it being smothered and repressed.

You aren't wrong, the thing is that Homelander does lack humanity. The idea of humanity comes from human behavior. With your logic, ANYTHING is "humanity". Being a sociopath who is okay with and actively wants to kill people, and rape people, and ruin people's lives and be an overall terrible person. Humanity is mostly about emotion. Someone who lacks all emotion would be seen as "inhuman". Only ever being sad, only every being angry, only every being happy, only ever being indifferent would be inhuman, since humans are supposed to experience the full range of emotions, including more complex emotions like love, compassion, disgust, etc. Homelander tends to lack in the happiness, compassion, and love department, and if you ket anyone who has no compassion, love, or happiness, you would call them inhuman, too.

And you can tell Stormfront wants to be a mother again and care for Homelanders kid. A-train is obviously going through a crisis and you feel bad for him as well. Despite all these characters have done horrendous things, they still show a soft side that makes them hard to fully hate lol. Homelander definitely puts down Becca, but he does occasionally say nice things about her to Becca. He wants his son to be a super, but I that's more so he and Ryan have something to bond over.

This is one of my favorite scenes in the entire show. Homelander is a monster. No way around that. However, its clear he wants to be a father. He wants to give Ryan what he never had. Theres no way around this. He doesn't know how to do that though, but you can clearly see he is trying. It shows how even a monster can have even a little tiny piece of good in them. However, after Ryan chooses to go with Butcher, that was the moment every little bit of hope Homelander had about being a father and have something nice, was ripped away from him, and then we get the Homelander in season 3 that just doesn't care anymore.

I mean ok sure, every serial killer can be just as loving but it doesn't make him a good person, he's still a psychopath incarnate. The only problem is it isn't all homelander's fault. He was raised by people who only cared about what he could do for them. In an absolute loveless environment, where he's never had hardships that life brings. Most likely he did get every single thing he wanted without discipline. He was brought up to be exactly this person, so I don't blame him too much.
