About The Boys: THE BOYS is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It's the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and their formidable Vought backing.

Ryan’s smile at the end is legitimately one of the most chilling moments I’ve seen on tv in years
the fact that u dont even notice the change in his mouth movement is what makes it even more chilling.
He's not more a innocent kid. He's just a evil bratty. I won't cry if he dies.
@@CJM94dude it’s one scene
@@MlAGOTH
One very intentional scene. Within the context, Homelander's usual sociopathic actions are teaching Ryan that this is a justifiable response to his future problems. And this is reinforced by his proclamation to Ryan earlier that "no matter what you do, [he] will always love you. I'm not going anywhere..."
At worst this parenting can mold Ryan into a villain or maybe an anti-hero, because someone actually has his back compared the lack of trust and empathy Homelander dealt with growing up. No cared about him because they him, and this kind of teaching method will definitely not bode well for anyone. xD
@@r3doctave657 yap yap doesn’t change the fact that ryan just smirked and you just made a series of assumptions
Ryan is the only human part of Homelander left. I think if anything happens to Ryan, that'll be the catalyst for Homelander finally burning it all
Ryan looked like his mum right up until the end when he smiled like his dad 💀
Eso es horrible tan bien que fuera como su madre
He’s honest with Ryan because he loves him, he can admit to him that he cries sometimes which is something that homelander won’t admit to another person because of his ego, he notices he was nervous around the crowd and immediately checked on him and left, he leaves him alone for a bit when he needs it, when he knew that soldier boy is his father he went to Ryan to remind him that he’s not alone and even told him that Becca dying wasn’t his fault which is something he needed to hear, he wants Ryan to be more in the open than being stuck in some house away from the public which is good for him, he’s not a good guy at all, we all know the things he did, but he genuinely loves Ryan and that’s the only thing I love about him
Homelander genuinely trying to be a good father to Ryan is the best part of this show.
Bro r@ped a girl and got her pregnant you think this is fair or a good father for his son?
@djolo5140nah you wrong, homelander is actually caring and trying to be a good father, he just doesn't know how to since he was raised like an animal, he said it himself, he had to learn by himself
@@FreakendsteinPeople can change, Homelander turned out to be quite caring father to Ryan.
@@finlandguy427if Ryan didn’t have powers he’d see him as another useless fucken human that’s not love that’s an obsession
@finlandguy427 Just because people change, that doesn't mean there are good people. He knows what's right and wrong, but he chooses to be better than others, and he has a lack of Empathy because of it
3:43 That "thank you" was the only time Homelander was being genuine to the public
True Lol😂
Ryan’s actor is really good
Nobody stopped and realized that by acting so desperately aggressive and harsh, it made Homelander look better to Ryan's young mind.
Could you please explain what you mean by that?
He means by everyone being stressed out and directing there anger at Ryan while homelander never did that
@@anthonyortiz350 homelander always hold himself wth his kid you can look in all the scenes. with the kd he always try to be the best dad.
@@blacky8987but his ego gets in his way. I'd argue Ryan would be better with the limey
@@JaggedBirddo you want a boyfriend
Butcher messed up when he made Ryan aware that it was his fault that his mother died. After that when homelander consoled Ryan, he started trusting HL more than Butcher.
Homelander at last found the impossible, someone he truly loves.
Even though the Boys did the right thing and saved everyone, Homelander is still on top, and he now has Ryan by his side. Can anything get worse?
Wait, betraying Soldier Boy was the right thing?? They literally had a good chance to kill Homelander and they fucked it up. Butcher could've just taken Ryan and ran.
@@Max-wz6cu They could have killed many other people in the whole process alongside Homelander. People who worked for Vought, but weren’t aware of its treachery, like Becca Butcher. The gunmen Kimiko killed but the tower, on the other hand, were people who only wanted money for killing the Boys, and don’t mean as much as every confused civilian who worked for Vought.
@@jaredthomas4663 They evacuated
@@Max-wz6cu But still, the building could have collapsed on people who were on the streets. And Soldier Boy was planning to kill all of the Boys too. And even if he did kill Homelander, he would still be the next biggest threat. Except he wouldn’t have anything to lose, and nobody to want to stop him. The only upside of defeating Soldier Boy for Homelander to live, is that Homelander is still has lots to lose. But the still main agenda of the Boys is to defeat him before the day he snaps like Soldier Boy.
@@jaredthomas4663 Soldier Boy wasn't planning on killing all of the boys lol. He was fighting them cuz Butcher switched gears on him and everyone ganged up on him. Soldier Boy is an arrogant bully but Homelander is a LOT worse.
I love the hints they keep dropping about Ryan's potential power. Ryan could push Homelander to the ground in one go.
Homelander's laser eyes could only lightly burn stormfront. (If you remember she told him not to hold back).
Ryan's laser eyes by contrast turned her into a baked potato.
Let's see what side he picks
Yeah but obviously he did hold back
I don’t think turning her skin black is “lightly burning”. If HL wanted stormfront dead he could’ve done it just as easily as Ryan.
But yeah you’re right, they are dropping hints that Ryan will outclass him eventually.
Ryan is my favorite character in this show for some reason, because of his innocence and morals to protect the person he loves
and Mom did a great job
stfu he is so spolied
I don’t know smiling while your dad obliterates someone on half doesn’t scream high moral values.

That kids acting is amazing
It took me watching “Diabolical” to understand the scene in 1:10. Home landers form of training is only what he learned previously. When he tells her that he is fine, it’s only because he went through the same exact training. No one has ever showed homeland or how to be a human. They’ve only shown him how to gain control over his controllers . I noticed in the show that vaught and Homelander both have leverage over each other, which is why both will never rat each other out.
Have anybody noticed that ryan's laser eye is his tiny pupil glowing and his lense glowing light red which is different from homelander's laser eye cuz in his laser eye his whole glows fully light red maybe to show that homelander is just a labrat but ryan is the first born superhero
Or to show that homelander uses all his eyespace to shoot lasers but Ryan has more POWER over his laser and it's more accurate than homelander. In 9:27 we see Ryan literally shove soldier boy with his lasers.

Homelanders may be a terrible person but he really does love Ryan and not as a weapon but as a son he has been alone all of his life and after discovering that he has a son hes started living with him and wanting him to have a great childhood something Homelander always but never had
It would suck if Homelander actually manipulated Ryan to have more power but i know it wont happen

in the end of season 3, a lot of people say Homelander doesn’t have any consequences,, but to me the reason why everyone cheered is because they don’t want to get killed by Homelander. You can tell because of some people nervously clapping out of fear

Sometimes I did think Homelander was a bit psycho but his love for Ryan is genuine
Edit: OKAY MAYBE NOT SOMETIMES BUT HIS LOVE IS REAL I CAN SEE PEOPLE QUESTIONING IT
Sometimes?
A bit?
He is psycho fs bro but i agree
A little?
Tell me. Does a psychopath even have the capacity for love?
All these clips make his sudden “I like my dad” ending in Season 3 all the more contrived
Not really, the only scene that would is Becca’s death as it was because of Stormfront but Homelander wasn’t the one that caused her death. Ryan was treated as a son by Homelander, he was a shit parent sure but he genuinely loves Ryan. Butcher treated Ryan like shit when he left him in Season 3, Homelander shows up and isn’t mad at him (the thing Butcher said he was), leaving Ryan with him as the only family he has left
@@aetherialbeing4223 except ryan knows that homelander hurt his mom and protected her from him on multiple occasions, and he knows that homelander and stormfront were working together when she tried to kill becca. i still don't think ryan's a bad kid - homelander just manipulated his feelings of betrayal and guilt over his mom's death to get him on his side, and based on these scenes once he sees things clearly the thing that would make the most sense would be for him to switch sides again.
@@tabaxi Homelander wasn’t actively trying to hurt Becca, at least from what I remember. I wasn’t saying Ryan isn’t being manipulated, all I was saying was that Homelander genuinely cares about Ryan and Ryan was looking for acceptance and family (bottom of my comment), I never said he wasn’t being manipulated by Homelander
It doesn’t actually, it shows perfectly how Butcher’s reactions pushed Ryan straight into Homelander’s arms.
Not really, it's actually some of the better writing between season 2 and 3.
Homelander's been pretty genuine and mostly truthful to Ryan, even in season 2. When Butcher, Ryan's now father-figure and protector, basically told him he was a monster, he felt more alone than ever because now he had no mom and now no "dad". Except for the one man who actually tried, and ended up telling him all the things he needed to hear in order to not feel like a monstrous person.
Kids are *extremely* impressionable. When you treat them as an equal, like Homelander always did, you speak to them on a higher level than just, "Hey, you should think this or do this."
His love for Ryan is 👏👏👏
Homelander is the best. Great series.
well he is stronger, smarter and better
@@ortmaster7454 I doubt that he's smarter, his actions were always influenced by Vought
@@ederkim8107 "smart" is just the last crutch for people who are weak and worthless in everything else lol.
His iq is in negetive
Homelander loves Ryan, but he's just obsessed with him the way psychopaths love their children, who are considered as their understanders and alter egos.
2:49 that crying get me every time I felt her pain
Homelander did have some urge to protect his sone at times
It's son
Homelander's trying to be a good Dad. He's not sure how to do that though and it's hard being a parent who's trying to be fair if you had a rough childhood
If ryan kills homelander which the show seems to be leading to, he will have killed both of his parent for his lore… shit go hard asf
Personally he may be evil but Homelander's a very good Father
Even the worst monster like Homelander has a soft side.
he is human after all 😭
Butcher fucked up if he listened to Ryan and actually left his vendetta he would have had a son
Edit: a son even stronger than homelander. Remember when he pushed him he sent him flying
So are we not going to talk about the fact they changed actors for Ryan that fast
They did that because the first child actor didn't have any previous acting experience and if you notice, he didn't have any speaking lines and just stood there staring at Homelander during his brief scene in the ending of the first season. When the creators considered expanding the storyline with Ryan to give Homelander more of a human side to him, they hired the current child actor, named Cameron Crovetti, because he was already an established child actor who worked on other tv series and movies. He also has an identical twin so if he couldn't work the long hours it takes to film the series due to child labor laws, the twin filled in for him which makes it easier for the creators. Now that Cameron's gotten older, he has resumed the role full-time and his twin only fills in if Cameron becomes sick or gets hurt. I got all this information from reading/watching interviews from the director and the actors on the show. It's interesting stuff. I'm actually impressed by this Cameron kid. He's a good actor, especially that subtle smirk he did in the end of season 3. It was chilling and makes you worry he's going to turn out to be just like his dad, Homelander. I'll admit I'm looking forward to that, because the conflict between Butcher and Homelander fighting over Ryan, and Ryan struggling between wanting love and acceptance from a father figure and trying to depict right from wrong, is going to make for some good watching. And i have to say, Antony Starr, who plays Homelander, is just and incredible actor. He was meant to play Homelander.
crazy that the son is actually just like his father secretly and he knows a part of him is just as bad . The apple really doesn’t fall far from the tree
The only thing I like about Homelander is being a father to his son
Ryan: I hate my dad

What is the name of the movie
ryan's gonna go full brightburn
I feel like if butcher had used the crowbar to jab stormfront in her other eye, it couldve went better than it did
I love how his face change the next season lol
Hm makes me wonder if they're gonna have Ryan kill his dad or if they're gonna have Billy die saving him from homelander whilst killing him in the process.
I feel like Ryan eventually killing Homelander is way too obvious though. Like too obvious that the writers won’t go that route
I expect next season to be a whirlwind with his son. I think we see the moral conflict play out with ryan to see his dad for who he really is, a monster. Then realizes he’s the only one that is more powerful than homelander and able to kill him. Thus, we see homelander with fear for the first time ever in the series.
Out of all the fabricated bullshit involving Homelander, from his fake childhood, him being grown in a test tube, being a genuine, selfless hero, all of that; Homelander’s love for Ryan is the only REAL thing in his life. It’s my favorite part of the show, seeing this monster have just a tiny bit of humanity inside him, because he now has the chance to help a child have the childhood and chances he never had.
Boy, if they ever bring back the Omen series, Ryan could be Damien for sure with that smile at the end.
Why do I have a feeling Ryan and homelander is going to have a fight
Is that a different actors of Ryan in the end of Season 1? I always wondered

It hurts to imagine living as homelander
Homelanders is those type of fathers that should keep away from their son's
It's weird people think that Homelander truly loves Ryan.
Homelander was trying to make another child with Maeve's egg cell because Ryan wasn't enough for his expectation.
Ryan could've been replaced by a new child if one had been born.
Homelander's love for Ryan is not a parental love. It is motivated by his own need to fill his own emotional void. It is only for himself, not for Ryan.
ryan is possibly the luckiest and unluckiest kid of all time
It’s almost like they need homelander even tho he’s like a child it would take all the members of the 7 to keep him in line 😂
The way Ryan smiled at the end made me wish I could get my op blades and sorcery character and enter that verse and be a part of it so I could be one of the only people able to defeat homelander and Ryan with ease

I sometimes wonder how scenes with Ryan would’ve been if they had stuck with his original actor from the S1 finale. Nonetheless, the actor who currently plays Ryan has done a great job
I know the focus of the show is super powered beings but at the core this situation is crazy. A rapist finding his victim and inserting him into their lives. Regardless of Homelander trying to do right by Ryan, he’s still a rapist who is traumatizing his victim. Part of me thinks he stayed both for Ryan but also because he liked seeing and knowing Becca was disgusted by him. Then you have Butcher who has one remnant of Becca left but it’s been tainted by her rapist. I wish we could’ve seen it play out more because it hits the core of humanity, love, guilt, and trauma.
The fact is i don’t think Ryan understands that when a person is murdered they die forever endlessly and he just thinks his dad is trying to impress him or something
How can Bryan be so stupid and gullible at the end?!
This is not Super Man. It is Super American.
Im just wondering what wouldve happened if that boy wasnt his son
He will be dead.

Say whatever you want, Homelander NEVER be a good father to Ryan
Why ????? Because He's Possessive and no one like possessive people

Do you REALLY think that Homelander is the only family Ryan has
WRONG !!!!
Don't forget he still has an aunt, Rachel Saunders, Becca's sister
What would do Ryan when he'll discover her out, and Homelander and when Ryan discover out what his "father" did to her mother?!
The only difference between Ryan and Homelander is that Ryan had a mother who make him to learn love
Homelander never learned a thing like this
A family is a place which is love and be loved, Homelander only be loved
That's why Homelander will never have a family
