The fact that Kessler’s thought-form in Season 4 asks Butcher if the moment he had sex with Maeve was when he started having a soft spot for supes kind of shows that he did like her. Even though it was fuelled by alcohol and self-hatred these two seem like kindred albeit broken spirits

The chemistry between these two it’s insane. I think Butcher is one of the only people Queen Maeve can related to because of all the horrible things Homelander made in their lives.
Coincidentally, Maeve knew that footage of her and Homelander abandoning Flight 37 would lead the latter to go ballistic on the world. Starlight tried to threaten him with the video and confirmed Maeve's suspicions.

Honestly, at this point in the show I don't think Homelander would care if they released it. He already lasered an innocent man in front of a crowd of people and they still cheered for him. In the public's eye Homelander has done more "good" than bad so the flight thing would upset a lot of people but others who are blind supports would still defend him.

The first time I watched this scene and listened to Butcher's rant, I got the feeling he was gonna take the same path he did in the comics. 2 years later and the path has already been set

Thought this scene was ironic after everything Butcher said about Hughie and Starlight back in season one "you got your tongue down the oppositions throat". Show's such a shift and growth in character after everything that happened.
It shows that they are just people contradicting themselves and being confused and messed-up... Hardly a ''growth'' in character.

In retrospect it shouldn't have been surprising that Butcher went insane. His decisions on Temp V were all over the place, and the full V that the tumor ate would've just made it worse.
The first thing he did with Temp V was killing a surrendered and disarmed Gunpowder who already told him everything he knew.
He also acts way more cocky and deranged than his usual MO, to the point of deliberately provoking fights where he once used subtlety and deception. And yes, having a power high after decades of feeling helpless absolutely plays a part in it, but it's not like Maeve went around murdering people after she got her powers. It's only part of the explanation.
@@Lardo137 Gunpowder acts as a murderer (shot 3 to the heart) since he didn't know Butch's invulnerability, therefor killing him was the best choice to stay alive after tempV's effect wear off.
I count 7 people/supe killed by butcher , (+one leg amputation) and several russian soldier. Mostly his and the Boys life were at stake, "kill or you'll be killed" Only his last kill was unnecessary, but she had it coming, Neumann's body count is much bigger than Butcher's. I think that broke him a bit when he were not strong enough from stopping Stormfront killing Becca, but your point "went around killing people" is not solid, he is fair, comparing to Kimiko, Neumann.
I'd say it's also point of butchers character that he's a hypocrite who doesnt play by his own rules. There's a reason he's an inverted version of homelander
That was the one relationship in this show that could have worked. Two utterly wrecked people clinging to one another.

With Kessler's revelation that made Butcher think that he had had intimate relations with Meave. It made him remember how he felt having done the same thing to Becca, due to her extreme alcohol addiction. Which made him quit. It was unexpected.
Is it just me or in the previous seasons the color palette of The Boys was a little different? Deeper, more diverse, structured according to each scene. In S4 this feeling is gone, almost like they don't do color corrections and just leave the original camera image.

More interesting if the temp V interacted with the regular V in her system and the baby is immune to the beam and the virus. The comic ends with a "New" batch of supes. It would be interesting if Billy and Maeve, two people that passionately hated supes make the next generation of supes.

Power amplifies whoever you already are, although it does appear to amplify our worse traits more than the good ones.
The trouble with most of the superhumans from this series is they were either raised in a lab, or by emotionally neglectful/abuse parents. Most of them have serious mental health issues or personality disorders as a consequence. It’s a bad idea to give power to anyone like that.
