I recently reviewed the new AKASO 10" LCD rearview mirror which performed very well
Watch the review video:

How Does The EHOOM Compare to Autovox X1:
The Autovox X1 does have a much better night vision display on the LCD than the A10. The A10 has more noise (grainy) in the picture in low light situation. But the X1 cost a lot more than the Ehoom A10. I found the video recording of both to be about the same. Both are well made units and both work well as dashcams. So it depends on your budget. If you don't want to spend too much and don't need GPS and LDWS, get the EHOOM. If you don't mind spending more, then get the Autovox.
This video review is way above expected effort. You went above and beyond with the camera shots, music, features, etc.
Absolutely beautiful video. This is the dash cam I am going to purchase because I already know how to use it and what to expect.
Thank you for your comment!
CarFlipZ191 I totally agree
هل توجد في بغداد مع جزيل الشكر والامتنان والاحترام لكم وكم السعر وأين
I’m just impressed over how far technology came with the rear view mirror...
Gotta give you props you go into every detail. (10/10) would watch again
I purchased the Lenovo V-7 dash cam but couldn't find a good review in English. Your video on the EHOOM brand more than helped me to understand how to set up my cam. A very impressive and detailed presentation, thank you.
Your reviews have become very good over the years, great job on this one. On another note, it's apparent from reading many of the comments that the dumbing-down of America has been a great success.
Na we've just took on so many new americans 😂
Nice! I love that you can see the cars behind you
On-point, comprehensive, in-depth and well-executed. Best video I've watched about dashcam.
don't know why there are 336 down votes? why people can't appreciate efforts made. well done buddy whoever has made this video.
I wanted to buy a dash cam integrated into a mirror but I (fortunately before buying one) found out that there's no way to easily dim it at the night when you have it mounted on a self-dimming mirror. But if don't have such a mirror, then it is a handy dash cam to have. Not only it records both front and back (including reverse cam) but it's also slightly larger than a stock mirror and therefore provides a bit better view.
Thank you. You should probably do reviews for all the others and whatever gadgets that exist. Your reviews are clear and detailed.
So cool! I usually don’t get giddy over Chinese gadgets like this but it ticks so many boxes!
I bought the Autovox X1 thanks to your video.
You could hardwire it using a wire tap to the fuze box for a cleaner install too.
You do great reviews man. Keep em' coming. Thanks!
Yes,but thats 12 volt..This uses probably 5 volts. But you can have a transformer for a little bit of money there.I have that for my current dash cam.
@@computeraddic675 you can open apart the 12V plug which has a transformer in it to 5V and instead of plugging it into the 12V socket, you can hard wire it to the car and have your socket free for other stuff.
Computer Addic you can buy a 12 volts charger splitter ,easy job.
Thank you for this video... I've been searching for a video which shows all settings...
Respect 👍🏻👍🏻
This is the best review video I’ve ever seen!!!
I have to say, you're so good at explaining. This is only the second video of yours I have watched, but I'm really looking forward to watching your others too. Liked and subscribed.
Thanks for your sub. Cheers!
bro!!!! I had three of these and all broke... the auto vox is still working fine.
Very detailed and professional. You've got a sub!
Excellent review very informative, just one question is the mirror very bright when night driving, could it be anoying?
This the best review of a dash cam I’ve have seen, great display of features and actual usage. Keep up the good work.
Fantastic review. You get straight to the point which makes it easy to follow.
Great video review. Plus i love how you help showing installation. I like this produce would have to put on my wish list for the Odyssey. Thanks again, awaiting your next video.
Wow, this is a gr8 dash cam 4 front & back recording. Has a micro-sd slot which provides more recording. It's nite time recording is awsome. I use a Samsung phone 4 front recording, but no back recording. Thx 4 sharing on the internet.
Thanks for a great job. Your review made it much easyer to install. The included instuction booklet is very small -difficult to read, but your vedio was really helpfull. I had a difficult time setting the clock time re-24 or 12 hour. The tool was handy getting the headliner open to insert the wire[I went over the top instead of the foor as you described ] I attached the rear camera inside the rear window using the provided adheasive strip-works and I didnt have to drill holes! Impressed with packageing and aids [tool-adhesive strip] , made install easy! Thanks
Where you be able to see through the rear window under darkness? Does your car's rear window have dark tint? THX
Excellent review clearly explained at the correct speed not too fast and neither any time wasted.
Of all the mirror cams you reviewed which one has the best rear view video quality? You videos are excellent by the way. I wish you could review everything before I buy it.
Best explanation I have seen so far on cameras 👍
Good job. The one thing I did not see is the effect a car approaching at night has on the image from the rear camera. In both high and low beam.
great in depth review! you hit all the points. Great presentation 🤗
OMG....I wish cars came with a video cam.
U bought me at the part when u put the camera at the back window that looks perfect
The best review
I have ever seen
well i have no need to the parking mode, but recording both front and back at the same time is useful. picture while driving, look good.. i notice the the license plates are mostly readable. thank you, unfortunately this product is not available at the moment from amazon.ca here in Canada.
A great review of what looks like a decent product, it's a shame the rear camera isn't blue tooth but that's only a minor gripe.
GREAT VIDEO
Excellent video. Thank you. I’m planning on buying one for my RV but may need longer wire or go wireless.
Very very good, thank you I am impressed, very smooth, I am going to instal this on to my 1971 firebird.
The trouble with these over the mirror type car cams is that the front camera doesn't allow enough movement to swivel for right hand drive cars. Its ok for left hand drive cars because the camera is on the left side ( when sitting in the vehicle).
I had one , similar design and now it's just sitting there gathering dust.
One thing I never see people go over... is the “rear view mirror” a functioning part? Like, is it still a mirror in a way that you can use it as a regular rear view mirror functions and see things behind you when the screen isn’t turned on? Or is it just a blank screen as I would see my TV or laptop, with dark and subtle mirror property?
Oh you make fitting into the car look so easy lol, much better to run the camera cable across the headlining.
Great review full of details but not too much overwhelming the viewer
You have got your act together. This is a great video very detailed
expert review and technical demonstration!
Thanks for your comment!
Great video! Just one question...will the low angle show and help you back up your ball hitch to align and attach your travel trailer? That’s what I really need! The other features you mention are terrific!
FUCKING lover this video. Best instruction video. Keep doing them 👍
Does it feature an internal battery or capacitor? Batteries don't last, capacitors are always better in units that get left behind in a car parked under a hot sun.
This was a well done video, great job.
If you install a GPS antenna will that give you the vehicle speed displayed to the mirror and subsequently to the video recordings?
Great review 👍 thanks for sharing...
Review the one having android OS.
If you are gonna go through all that to hide the wires.......hardwire it to the fuse box with a voltage regulator.. don't use cigerette lighter socket..
Can you turn off the system sounds? Like the startup sound and beep? Those would get annoying very quickly.
6:10 YW
When backing up to the car and soft toy why not get out and show how close you were so giving an understanding of the red lines distance that was on screen
Does it makes sound when nearing the object while reversing?
@@JagadeeshPolepalli no
That's because that will take a lot of effort and very time consuming to do so that's why he didn't do it.
Hey, nice guide, but I still miss those steps with installing of camera so you have all of your cables hidden. I see that USB and GPS are going under the ceiling - where do you connect them? How to do it?
Just like in video games!
I'm guessing no night mode function on the mirror when a truck is behind you. Thanks again, you reviews are very informative.
Very nice video but I could not see full reverse parking with sound
Amazing video. Can this product be used for four cameras? For example, cameras mounted below the side mirrors, possibly triggered by blinkers.
Another great review. I have watched all you reviews and you do an excellent job in both communicating the details of the product with the unusual, but greatly appreciated, installation process. While I am of the ability to easily do this install, actually seeing an average human do it is a welcomed addition and should help a prospective buyer decide on the purchase. I don't know if you are compensated for your reviews or provided the devices at no cost for review but if you are allowed, I think you could improve the value of your review by citing similar/identical devices sold under a different name. As we know, many of these type Chinese made electronics are sold under different names at different prices. Also, if a product is a bespoke item, give the manufacturer credit for that. It appears that your scope of reviews is becoming a bit limited but perhaps that is your area of expertise or where your interest lies. In summary, you reviews are outstanding and I think eventually you may want to consider some other products, even simple items like charge/data cords or devices, auto status devices such as tire pressure devices or even some software/hardware products that allow extended product use such as video in motion overrides, navigation change in motion devices/software or similar devices that allow people to make use of features that the manufacturers don't allow on every vehicle or model. Also don't forget innovative small home electronic gadgets. The only reason I suggest this expansion is because you do such a good job on everything. Keep up the excellent work!!!
Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback. Really appreciate it. As for covering other technology products, I guess must of my subscribers know me for car accessories. If I find products that are good or interesting (even if not car related) I will share it such as the home security camera videos. I try to balance things that interest me and things that hopefully interest my viewers. Thank you for your support and comment!
Loving it!!
Was looking for something like this though I wish not to put it on my license plate. As my truck has some bright lights that mess with my current camera. But I mostly want this as a rear view mirror so I can see behind me if I'm carrying cargo on my bed cover that blocks my view.
It’s cool no doubt but I couldn’t help but notice that it appeared to show things behind you on the opposite side. I may wrong but it appeared you were driving in the right hand lane and if you notice the car in your rear view was showing it was 2 lanes over to your right. If you were in the right lane that would mean it was showing the footage backwards which in my opinion seems like a MAJOR safety hazard
The image is correct, you can see the white car passing by on the left side, and it's showing the same on the mirror with the car going by on the left once it passes 13:35
Some of these say they can tolerate temperatures up to 70C but the inside of a car in summer can go way beyond that. Do you have any experience with this?
Clear and very helpful review!
wondering the heat resistance on this device? Thank you.
Good review thanks. for the next review though it would be cool if, after you backed up to the teddy bear, gotten out and showed how close to it you really were. also the lag time of the rear camera. so maybe before you install it 100 percent. turn it on and have the camera and mirror in the shot. show your hand being waved infront of the camera and see if there is any lag time to when it shows up on the mirror. tnx again.
11:30 Or use a Scotchlok.
Also, you gave a lot or detail, about how certain parts of the car car are removed, the various fittings, and the routes the cabling takes, but that will vary a lot, depending on the vehicle.
Really good review - thanks. When driving am I right that the original mirror is completely covered up and the view from the rear facing camera is shown? My current car does not have a backup camera but my older (higher spec) model did. It got snow and slush over the lens in bad weather affecting backing up views, but my mirror (or course) was not affected. Is there anything about the rear camera that would help avoid snow and ice build up to keep a clear rear view when driving?
The new mirror covers the original mirror. If you install the camera inside the vehicle, then it won't have snow build up.
Dial2fast could you wire up a third camera say on a trailer. How might you wire that up??
Hey mate, whats the parking monitor like on this? Thats the most important thing for me. Ive had 7 cars damage mine over the past 5 years due to careless people parking or crashing into it. Loads of dents, scratches, scrapes the lot so my main priority is catching and charging these people for the damage. Does it automatically detect motion when its parked and start recording? How long does the battery last for when its in this mode? cheers
I want this so badly - but as the entire mirror, not this clip on thing. Too bad the selection of integrated smart mirrors is limited.
Very good video sir, installation looks straight forward enough. Have a question about running wires to rear camera, couldn’t you run along the top at edge of headliner instead of popping up kick panels and threshold. I have a 2013 Dodge Charger that I was thinking of doing this to
You can run it either the top or the bottom. For bigger vehicle like a van or SUV, you have to run to the top because the cable is not long enough. The main issue with running to the top is you have to be very careful how you run that cable so it does not interfere with the side curtain airbag.
dial2fast I thought of side curtains right afterwards. I ordered it on on amazon for $159.00 today with the 4 year extended warranty, do you know how it handles heat I live in Las Vegas Nevada and in the summer it gets to 120 degrees and close to 200 inside the cars my other dash cash died within the first summer month .
@@dennis51357 Well I can't say if it will work in 200F. I tested it in Georgia and our summer heat might be 95 outside.
Great review. Watched your Autovox reviews too, thanks. In THIS video, (you showed inside and outside ways for rear cam positioning) when testing night rear cam, was it inside or outside?
It was installed outside
What if we want to use the rear view mirror and not the rear view camera while driving? I saw the example for night time, but didn't see the the daytime driving with regular rear view mirror.
هل يوجد هذه الكاميرا في بغداد مع جزيل الشكر والامتنان والاحترام لكم وكم السعر وأين
Buenos Dias Gracias por compartir sus conocimientos Saludos desde Spain Madrid - Gracias
Does the rear camera record in mirror image (like it displays the view to the driver), or does it record in actual view?
Is it best to install the camera outside or inside the car?
Installing it inside is the easiest, but installing it outside will give you a lower view. Both types of install work fine with the LCD views.
dial2fast got it all set up thank you so so much!
Good morning I got a cuestión where can I buy this mirror with the same size
awesome review! If you have the rear view on display does it also capture the front view at the same time while recording or just the rear?
It's always recording both cameras at the same time
Excellent présentation. Thank you.
this is just what I need. My car has horrible blind spots
What kind of car has a blind spot? I've been in a lot of different cars none of them had blind spots. And if your car has blind spots are dash cams not going to help you that means you didn't see the person and hit them.
Nicely Done!
As always very good review. How bad is the glare on a sunny day. I was getting pretty bad glare on the Auto-vox x1 I ended up returning it.
With these mirror base devices, they do get glare on very sunny days. The LCD display is best used when sun is not super bright and also after dusk. You have option on both units to turn off the LCD which is what I do during the day.
I hate the way the reverse camera looks, when parking. Is there a way to angle it so its not looking nearly straight down?
Is it possible to disable the date/time showing all the time?
Also; How long is the rear camera wires that must be run to the front
Is the camrea supposed to be on the entire time the car is on? How long will the camrea last? And last when I tap twice for the lane assist it dose t show the video just the lane assist can you help?
That was done very good.
Could the rear view camera be constantly on, or does it have to be only while in reverse?
where is your review of the autovox? (I checked your channel but did not seem to find it) also thoughts comparing the two?
Here it is: ua-cam.com/video/G6jXtCtzBgM/v-deo.html
perfect review j, thanx a lot
Great video ! I'm just curious about that rectangular object on the right when showing the front view, Is it part of the mirror or some other device on the windscreen ?
No its not, its a separate item
How to fix my rear view camera? Only the front view is working. Appreciate if you can advise the issue here.
Great review,thank you.
Awesome review. I’m considering of getting this
Great Job on the review! Thank you
thanks for the video, is any 24V version available?
can we see both front and back view at a time
But the big question can you turn off that bloody beep for every key press it's a deal breaker.
Very good Demo *****
