  • This video will teach you how to create a delicious roasted ham in the
    Char-Broil Oil-less fryer. An alternative to oven roasting or oven baked.
    Another great holiday dish. Thanksgiving Ham, Christmas Ham or even Easter Ham. Great for all occasions.
    The Char-Broil Oil-less fryer has been around for many years. You can fry turkey, chicken, chicken wings and legs, ham, or just about anything you want to fry. It's totally oil-less and has minimum clean up.
    It's a nice machine.
    SPIRAL CUT HAM ON THE CHAR-BROIL OIL-LESS FRYER
    INGREDIENTS
    1 SPIRAL CUT HAM
    1 PACK OF GLAZE (COMES WITH HAM)
    CHAR BROIL OILLESS FRYER
    INSTRUCTIONS
    Load the ham into the basket.
    Turn the fryer on and put the basket into the fryer.
    Check ham after 30 minutes.
    If you like your ham at this point, mix up the glaze and apply the glaze to the ham.
    Return the ham to the fryer for 15 minutes.
    If you want your ham roasted a bit more, return it to the fryer for a total of 1 hour before applying the glaze.
    GLAZE
    The glaze comes in a package. Follow the instructions on the package.
    I mixed 3 Tbsp. water with the packet of sugar and spices.
    Heat until sugar is melted.
    Paint the glaze on the ham with a brush.
    Chef’s Notes:
    I love the flavor of clove on ham therefor I will add clove to the glaze package.

    I've got 4 of these things, took one down to Mexico last year, I've done turkeys, chickens, pork ribs, loins, chicken wings, thighs and legs and numerous other things in it. We use it more than our bbq.

      One year I bought one for each of my sons. For Christmas. We should use ours more.

    Looks good. The top is used to reflect the heat back to crisp it. When you do turkeys you put the top in the last 30 min or so. It does keep out leaves too!
    Love your channel! Keep the videos coming.
    I request redfish on half shell on a future video.

    Clearly I have missed a lot!!! Playing catch up. I LOVE rainy days... Oil-less fryer??? I have clearly been living in a cave!! I have NEVER heard of that before. Soooooo cool!!! LOL. I thought you said you will come back in a "ham hour". WOW.. That looks amazing. Drooling...

      A friend introduced me to this oilless fryer. It works great. Most people buy them to fry turkeys but chicken and ham is great too.
      The drippings go down, through a single hole in the bottom into a drip tray. They cost about $90

      @@TheSandersKitchenCooked it yesterday and it was excellent. From Grandparents to grandkids they all loved it. The only thing that was kind of difficult was getting it out of the standard basket. I will be investing in a collapsible basket like you were using. Thanks again for the video and I'm sure glad I stumbled upon it.👍👍👍👍👍

      My goal in making cooking videos is to share what I know about cooking with others. You just made my day! I’m so happy that your family enjoyed the ham. I really am glad. Yes. Invest in a few add ons for your char broil.
      Try Cornish hens sometime.

  • @mcconn746

    The top increases the temperature close to 100°F I think. I think the temp is around 450° with the top on and 300° - 350° near the bottom. It is cooler near the bottom than at the top.
    When cooking a turkey, many people put the top on 30 minutes to an hour to brown the top of the turkey. After that, they take it off as it is too hot.

    how big was the ham?

    • @TheSandersKitchen
      @TheSandersKitchen  Рік тому +1

      I’m pretty sure it was about 10 pounds. If you are going to use the charbroil, I’d go by how it looks. I think 1 hour is average.

      @@TheSandersKitchen thanks. I have made a small one last year and it turned out great in the charbroil. This time around I'm cooking for a much larger crowd and was curious to see ~ what lb you can stuff into the basket/holder. I figured nothing over 11 would fit.

    • @TheSandersKitchen
      @TheSandersKitchen  Рік тому +1

      @@JoeL-zr4kx I did fit a huge ham in the basket but I had to turn it on it’s side. It didn’t cook the same. Smaller ones are better.👍🏼

    The top is NOT to keep leaves out. You should instead only use it when temperatures are really low 40’s or below or on the last 15-20 minutes of any cook where you want the outside of whatever you’re cooking to brown more.

      @TheSandersKitchen  4 місяці тому +1

      Thank you for updating me on the grate. After reviewing the instructions, I see where the grate is a temp control for cold weather. 👍🏼

      @@TheSandersKitchen on real warm days be careful using it. You’ll burn the exterior of whatever you’re cooking. I’ve had my Big Easy for around 5 years now and still love it!

    Throw away the sugar packet. It ruins the ham...just my opinion. (sigh)
