- [Stereo feed] Live performance featuring Richard Lloyd, from Television, on lead guitar.
Small visual glitch about halfway through the clip, but does not affect the audio, thankfully!
RICHARD LLOYD 🤯
Its a fantastic song. Great album too.
I've always loved this song. Really everything about it--the lyrics, the singing, the incredible bass lines, and that soaring Richard Lloyd guitar work. Really fabulous!
+Stan C Robert Quine is the one who actually played lead on the album.
Again Richard Lloyd delivers 100% fun with his axe another great Matthew Sweet composition
Just saw Matthew Sweet and he closed with this song. My favorite of his!
By far my favorite Matthew Sweet song
What a hidden gem this song is! Matthew Sweet’s best. Haunting…
Sick. Digging on catching up w Matthew Sweet the last couple days. Saw him live in the 90’s a couple times. He’s genius.
Enak bgt nih lagu 😍
This is sweet
This song is about me!!!
Powerful, dark version. Thanks for posting.
My pleasure! Thanks for the note of appreciation. Mr. Lloyd is spectacular on guitar, isn't he? :)
He certainly is.
Really great!👍🏻✌🏻
How do people know whether it was Lloyd or Quine playing the guitar parts? I have a hunch a lot of the things people think are Quine are Lloyd.
All of the liner notes for Sweet's albums are pretty meticulous when it comes to listing who plays what.
😆😁🦊🦊🍅🌶🏜🌋🎈🧨🎆🎇good
Drummer and guitarist are clearly Dire Straits fans, and I'm here for it.
WTF does this comment even mean?
Ooh, already starting to look chunky. Hey, I like all Matthew Sweet shit post-'Girlfriend'. Don't understand the regard that particular album is held in.
FYI, Matthew Sweet deals with serious mental health issues, and a lot of medications for treating depression, bipolar disorder, etc really promote weight gain. As far as "Girlfriend" goes, the sound really stood out at the time (it's a very dry mix & a lot of music from the late 80s & early 90s was over-produced), plus, IMHO, there is some great songwriting too & it also has that 'singer-songwriter' & self-produced' feel to it.
