I agree with you so much. I transfer and clean/disinfect them immediately. Sometimes I do put babies into tree fern or stratum fluval, but everything else is cleansed and put into PON. No pests yet, and a few gnats. Claudia do you have hoyas? Some hoyas don't like the change, but I just watch them carefully. As of this morning all hoya are in PON except for babies in tree fern or fluval. Some things do not work, then need a different medium.... but man, oh man, do Alocasia love it.
the transition is just worth it! I do have Hoyas but do find their roots are super sensitive!!!! In general I don't transfer them from soil, I'd rather re-root and start fresh.
Oh wow, you are brave for only acclimating them in water for less than a week. I acclimate my in water for around a month lol I wait till they grow water roots. I find that all the pre-existing soil roots melt off within the first week of acclimating in water. Also, if you haven’t done so already, I extremely recommend pon for Calatheas. I always was able to keep them alive and they would grow. But as soon as I switched them over, they are thriving. I get about 3-5 new leaves/spikes every month.
Thanks for all your tips and tricks. 💚
thank you so much for watching!!!

@@iamclaudiaq Good to know!! I may have to do that too. Have cut enough away to propagate. Thanks Claudia! Nice video.
I’d never seen the squeeze and peel done before. It looks pretty easy
It doesn’t always work but when it does it’s so much easier!

Plantiitas has melos? Gotta make a pit stop on the way home.
Yes!! They still had some this weekend
Boy that alocasia has a lot of corms
So many! And such a small plant relatively
It’s very sinister looking almost demon like
So unique!
