      Saba789 try Craigslist I've seen people selling fully functioning 200 gals with niiiice stands for $2-300 simply because they were too big for their house or they moved away from the hobby! I bought a 60 gal for $55 for a hamster three years ago, she passed away a couple weeks back so now I'm setting up a goldfish tank 🤗🤗

    I've made an aquarium like this but using 19mm extra clear tempered glass but without steel bracings at the bottom rather on the top. It made the tank extremely heavy though but it's worth it.

  • @ZacharyMelo
    @ZacharyMelo 7 років тому +7

    How much deflection is there in your long panels when the tank is filled? Without eurobracing, I assume this thing is flexing quite a bit.

    the second sheet of glass you add to the bottoms its seem you just add more thickness wall to the bottom that means 10mm+10 mm =20 mm for bottom thickness, but there is good way to use ring strips support under the bottom it can be glass or wood or steel doesn't matter for example if you using 4 rings every 30 cm now your bottoms = L1+L2+L3+L4 means every L = 30 cm of length witch can resist pressure 4 time then your design and not this much cost

    This might sound like a silly question, but was wanting to ask when measuring the glass to build a tank how do you measure the side glass panels.
    Wondering do you cut off the glass thickness either edge of the side glass panels , or even more to allow space for silicone??
    This is going to be my first attempt to build a fish tank so just wanted to check before ordering glass cut to size online.
    Thanks 👍
