UPDATE after getting my 3rd wolverine ultimate. I think i figured out why almost any wolverine ultimate you buy right now, I can confidently say they will come with stick drift right out of the box. the carrying case the controller comes with I think is the reason why this product was doomed from the start. there is a little pocket in the carrying case that ever so slightly pushes up on the analog sticks keeping them locked in an off centered position. think about a analog stick being locked in solid offset for maybe a year on the shelf waiting for someone to buy it. maybe thats why they decided to get rid of the carrying case for the v2. only came to this conclusion after realizing that all 3 of the controllers ive had in the past 4 days have suffered the same exact problem. maybe someone can prove me wrong but i think everyone should save the time and gas just get the v2
I bought an instinct bc of your video, i have used an elite series one and bought two elite series two over the past three years, overall i was very happy with my series two especially due to the features only found on it (most notably imo that external remap software i use recognize the paddles as separate from abxy, allowing me to add even more buttons to the controller) but due to how i hold my controllers (middle finger rests on triggers), i found it either extremely uncomfortable to press all four paddles or impossible. This is not an issue with the scuf instinct (however i lose the remapability that the series two had) and am happy with both controllers. Also 1v1 me in fortnite lol
Dead ass I'm here because my scuf got thrown by my brother when he was playing brawl and broke one paddle and broke the b-button and I had him buy me the wolverine ultimate and wanted to know if I was missing out or not but I'm just using it till I save up for another scuff
I had the elite 1 that lasted me years but when the stick drift finally became too much I looked for new options. I was torn between the razer ultimate and the elite 2 unfortunately I chose the elite 2 only to have it replaced it 3 times In the first 6 months, after the last replacement dropped off I bought the razer ultimate (because the chroma hadn’t dropped yet and I had no clue it was coming) 6 months later I still love this controller
i want to buy razer wolverine v2 chroma , but some people say that stick resistance is too low, its true? And even you set up deadzone in to 0 in games its stil have?
See that's unacceptable to know you bought a brand new controller and had to replace it 3 times in 6 months. Now this maybe ok if it was literally one person but we all know your just one of thousands that have to go through unacceptable controllers from these companies. It's terrible, when I was a kid my controllers only broke or had issues when I raged and caused the problems to happen, now days you can play a game for a week and yeah you got stick drift.
I was looking for a new controller and almost pulled the trigger on a elite series 2 or scuf. Then I looked up some reviews and saw yours. Bought a V2 chroma after seeing that Vid and I’m loving it. Keep up the great work man. 👍🏻
Every aspect of this video is absolute gold! Love the sense of humor and your straight forward approach to addressing issues and atomically assessing the product. Also thank you for letting us know the v2 chroma deadzone issue has been fixed, I was ready to never buy another Razer ever again after I discovered the analog sticks were nearly unusable.
That will be enjoyable to watch especially vCuda’s comparison lol. But in my opinion, or i think anyone, v2 chroma will win, not because of the amount of functions but just because of the reliability but i may be completely wrong.
The V2 Chroma I wasn't gonna get, I really liked my wolverine TE, but it stopped working, so I was given a V2 Chroma for free by Razer, and I absolutely love it, also, thanks for your videos on the TE, they helped me in my decision to get Razer!
Oh my God, my TE’s left stick isn’t working as well and I felt SAD because I LOVED the layout for the TE especially how the 2 mappable buttons underneath are set. How long did it take you to get used to the V2 Chroma?
Honestly I'd still recommend the ultimate over the V2. Maybe a little bit of loyalty since it's lasted me ages but I don't care cause it's still competitive against the V2, half the cost now, and strangely enough has more features. I find that textile isn't important so long as it doesn't suck horrendously and I haven't played a game where I need high quality d pads (only played fps games...). I also prefer the ultimate shape and look but really the big thing is reduced price.
Your videos on the V2 Chroma are literally the most helpful reviews on the internet for this controller. The rest all sound like either paid promos being read off of a script, or like someone making a video reading the specs sheet/feature list to you. Now a quick question for you. Does the V2 Chroma fit in the Wolverine Ultimate's carrying case [properly]?
vCuda is one of the few people who actually uses the products he reviews. Plus he's actually good at shooters. The rest of reviewers are paid shills and casuals.
Owned and (ab)used every wolverine so far for long time. Best controllers hands down. Until the VW chroma. Thing is garbage compared to ultimate!!!! Shape is ok. Triggers are too hard, magnetic thumbstick let go under intense usage especially with kontrolfreeks. ABXY buttons are harder to press and slower than ultimate, feels cheaper made than the ultimate and AFTER 2 MONTHS of usage one of the back bottoms has simply broken off!!!!🙈🙈🙈 Wolverine ultimate is the last real good razer controller!
Thank you so much for making this, I have been using the ultimate for quite some time and love it to death but after watching this I want to try out the Chroma. Keep up the amazing work, love your videos man!
@@TheRealPunisher I truly believe price wise that you will like the Razer Ultimate because it sits at $80 on Amazon plus the buttons are insane too, BUT the stick drift is a tiny bit crazy, not too bad otherwise
So, I'm very curious to hear how long the Wolverine Ultimate has held up for some people. I bought mine 3 years ago, and not a single button is broken. One of the paddles feels a little funky, that is literally it. The paint has been worn off the buttons and yet they still work flawlessly. No stick drift. And to elaborate, I game a lot. I work, go out, and have a fiancee, so I'm not gaming like epically unemployed hours or anything, but still. I play every day. This controller survived multiple Sekiro playthroughs, Dark Souls and Elden Ring 4 times as well. Hours of competitive Tetris, and when I actually was unemployed during the pandemic, it survived the most disgusting amount of call of duty I've played since I was a middle schooler during the summer. My fucking Wolverine Ultimate has survived so much abuse and still, still kicks ass. I would of spent more money buying $60 controllers twice a year at this point. Those things are always a gamble, and mine typically break quick. So God damn dude, I love this controller. I wanna get the Chroma V2's when mine finally kicks the bucket but honestly, I'm just gonna buy another Wolverine Ultimate and keep it in the box until my current one shits out. I love this controller so much that I'll legit drop the $100 (current sale price) just to ensure I'll have a fully functional back up. And I'll still repair the old one too. This god damn controller was forged by the most skilled blacksmith in Valhalla, or whatever afterlife. Point is it's fucking awesome. I'm also lucky though, since a buddy of mine encountered stick drift 6 months into use and he was too lazy to fix it.
3 years later & my wolv ult, does have a chipped m5 pad(still works tho) & a cracked LT( still works) & the hair length switch still works but if i spam LT itll sometimes revert back on its own, probably due to it being kinda cracked open probably messed up some sorta mechanic in there, but overall still use it for cod halo & more, originally got it to keep up with the kids on fortnite lol😂
Have both currently, been using the wolverine ultimates for years as the go to overall, even over the elite series 2. Once you get used to the six extra buttons it's hard to use anything less. Figured I'd give the chroma a shot. I do like it but damn who thought it would be a good idea with the start and select buttons placed where they are. Disappointed you can't easily switch profiles like the ultimates could. Magnets for the thumbsticks could of been stronger, or could use a slide lock mechanism to keep them snug as there is a slight twisting/swivel motion to them.
I agree with these points, especially the option buttons. I'm always pressing the spot on the faceplate where they should be, only to find out that they aren't there lol
i want to buy Razer Wolverine Ultimate or Wolverine Tournament Edition or chroma v2, but some people say that stick tension is too low, its true? And what about dead zone? and wich better? good in racing games
@@user-lv8vu4vr6x I still use the wolverine ultimate as my primary, the stick tension is more free flowing I guess you could say or loose. More akin to the Xbox elites stick tension or elite series two lowest tension setting on thumbstick dial. Using the ultimate more for multiplayer as you can reprogram buttons on fly. As for the chroma v2 been using it more for single player. Chroma has more tension like elite 2 on tension adjustment dial of the middle to highest tension and more like a ps4/ps5 stock tension which is more heavy. I do like the chroma on racing games as there is more thumb resistance for small adjustments on the racing line. Now quality control issues I have with ultimate is deadzone sometimes straight from manufacturing is wack. Everything should be tight and overtime break in but sometimes a new controller with ultimate it's not right. Just had to return a ultimate back to Amazon because the right thumbstick was drifting down without touching the stick. So it's wise to immediately check deadzone calibration in an free app the Xbox has or just throw on apex and lower both sticks in the advanced controller settings to lowest point and see where it doesn't more the cursor. I'd say anywhere between 0-5 is a good area for a new ultimate. As for quality control on chroma I've noticed the thumbsticks if your using the higher stick it twists a little. No problems on the shorter sticks. Maybe the magnet isn't that strong. I'd prefer a twist to lock the thumbstick tight but isn't so on chroma. I took a half strip of tape and put in on the connection point to have it more secure, shouldn't be that way but is what it is. As for the deadzone calibration on the chroma there are 4 settings in the app, I tried the 1 lowest setting and the numbers fluctuate so I went with setting 2 and no number movement so I recommend that and all the settings are adjustable in the razer xbox app on console. Really wish the chroma had remap on fly with two or three profiles saved on the controller but unfortunately no so. Overall if can do a wired controller the ultimate and chroma are the best controllers. Once you learn 6 extra buttons, anything else you feel handicapped on skill. Hope this helps.
@@llogan_gabriell thank u so much for such a good ansver, its very helps) now decide between chroma v 2 and ultimate v1, its too hard to make a choise) dead zone in ultimate and chroma are the same? again
damn, nice job on getting 10k! Congrats man, last time I saw you your goal was to hit 10k by the end of the year. also I've been subbed around 2k nice to see you grow and become a good content creator. :)
I’ve been using the Ultimate for about a year now and I’ve never enjoyed a controller more. The back paddles took some getting used to, but they’re much stronger and more secure than any other paddle I’ve ever used. I broke the paddles on a scuf, on an Elite, and on a strike pack. But I don’t think I could physically break these paddles.
vCuda you have my utmost respect. I find it incredible that I can sit here and not understand anything you are talking about but still come back every upload to hear what my mind thinks as nonsensical ramblings
honestly you did the Ultimate review and I went from my crappy elite series v2 to the Ultimate its so much better no issues at all after 4 months of using it Thank you I appreciate these video's
I’m on the other side of the spectrum where my elite 2 is the greatest thing ever for me. Had it since release with heavy fortnite usage daily. I’m talking like 3-5hrs everyday of competitive gaming and I’m having zero issues.
@@vCuda love your channel bro legit the best controller reviewer hands down! But quick question do you know if running the elite series 2 wired reduces input lag at all?
With the exception of not having wireless the wolverine v2 chroma is the best pro controller on the market. I’ve tried almost every pro controller you can get. I’ve owned elite v1 and v2, power A fusion pro 1 and 2, along with scuff, hex games and battle beaver moded controllers. The paddle layout on the wolverines takes a minute to get used to, but once you do, it becomes obvious how superior the layout is. I also like the ultimate, but mine came with major drift, and you’re unable to edit the deadzone in software the same way you can on the v2 chroma. If you can get past not having wireless, this controller will serve you well.
Was checking daily just for this video! Definitely worth the wait! Just a question if you would take your time to reply. I will be buying a pro controller soon and i can not afford to keep buying a pro controller every 3-6 months. Right now, i have the elite series 2 and the v2 chroma in my list. Which one would you recommend? Appreciate the reply!
I’ve had mine for about a year. I put hard miles on my controllers(I push my buttons harder than most). The paddle I use the most is losing its stability. Other than that the controller is amazing. Still super responsive and the extra two bottoms on the top are great for FPS games. I ping players without even realizing it…my teammates love it hahaha. For $80 this is an absolute steal. All bc they want to clear the shelves for the new product. I’m probably gonna buy one just in case it gets discontinued in the near future. One thing I must say is that the ergonomics of this controller are a little different than anything I’ve ever used. It took me over two weeks to fully adjust. I was having my doubts but stuck with it and now I’m in love. Although this is strictly cosmetic the lights on this controller are pretty cool. You can change the pattern and the way it illuminates the XBOX button on the controller is cleannnnnn. I’d give this a 9/10. 10/10 if I was using a wired headset I’d be able to use the functional buttons that coordinate with the headset.
I’ve been using a tournament edition specifically from your reviews and I just wish that they’d bring that one back or just add buttons to the base v2 and raise the price by $20 and I’d be sold🤷🏼♂️
Glad I found your channel. Appreciate your response on the elite s2 the other day. Thinking of getting the v2 instead now. Humor is on point in the vids. Keep up the good work.
I just got my v2 chroma and was disappointed with two things. 1 - you cannot change profiles quickly like ultimate, you need to plug it into the computer to make the change. 2- you can't remap the buttons playing like the tournament did. in addition to the ease of muting the microphone These two questions are making me think about returning and getting the ultimate again I played for more than 3 years with tournament ultimate and I always liked it, however I found its durability a little bad, although I played fps every day...
I got the V2 for fighting games because for certain games that have those circular inputs, the D-Pad just seems amazing for that. It's a HUGE letdown that there's no option for button swapping on the fly independent of the app like the ULT. With the TE and ULT controllers, i felt like the ULT controller had the best D-pad for fighters. Now that this one was released, i think it's this one.
I love both but will say the v2 chroma fits in your hands significantly differently. The wolverine ultimate feels like an Xbox controller and the v2 chroma feels like a switch pro controller
Very surprised to learn the the v2 chroma triggers do not rumble. From what I’ve seen in the web, the ultimate does. Can you confirm this? I mostly play racing games so rumbling triggers are pretty important.
Yes, the wolverine V2 triggers don't vibrate. But if you're into racing games wouldn't a steering wheel be a better option? Gamepads are only good enough for arcade racing games.
i went for the turtle beach recon and man this thing is pretty solid for its price and NO STICK DRIFT! Albeit it's been only a month, highly recommend this controller. I'm coming off of Razer Raiju (PS4) TE and that thing drifted and so patchy like vCuda's mustache. But maybe if TB Recon dies on me, I'll be glad to try the V2 Chroma.
vcuda plz try out and review the victrix gambit controller i think you would love it it comes with integrated dobly atmos for life on the controller and its only 100$
Cool VS Vid. "BUT"🤔 You forgot to mention how comfortable in the hands the V2 Chroma feels. Especially after extending playing sessions! Can you say... "Like a Glove" 🤗
I've had the Wolverine Tournament Edition for over a year now and it's now having its first issue which is a partially unresponsive b button. Hopefully Razer can repair it or something because they are unfortunately discontinued in the only place I've seen one was for $200 refurbished on Amazon. This controller held up better than any other controller and definitely has felt the best.
I've been losing my mind because of the fact that tactile dpads seem so incredibly rare. Even the modern controllers that people praise for having good dpads like 8bitdo just feel like unresponsive mush to me. But now I'm really thinking about getting either the V2 Chroma or the Tournament Edition... it's tough though, I only play on Switch and PC and I wish there was a Switch-supported controller that had everything I want, and I love the Switch Pro (if only it had paddles, a better dpad, and maybe turbo), but I refuse to trust anything without a tactile dpad
Nice video got the ultimate from your review and wasn’t disappointed at all. Thx man! I’ll try the chroma soon the double clicking is starting on the ultimate but it’s not really noticeable in game.
Have they changed the build of the M3 & M4 buttons on the back? On the Ultimate these are attached by 2 thin plastic strips, which eventually snap and you can’t buy replacements. That is my only complaint about the Ultimate, after 15 months of use.
Thanks for the update on the best competitive controller and if they would add the deadzone touch to wolverine tournament and ultimate then many would buy more ultimates and tournament controllers then
Hi mate, nice video. The Dpad on my wolverine ultimate has stopped working almost completely after 6 months of use. I've got to say I'm only a casual gamer and play mostly a few hours a week. They are sending me the v2 chroma as replacement 😁
When I heard you say the Wolverine Ultimate's jamming and/or skipping inputs while hitting multiple M buttons was fixed, I asked Razer for an RMA... and they sent me a V2 Chroma, which after updating the firmware... STILL has the same problem, but heavily mitigated, it happens much less often but still means pressing 2 ore more M buttons at the same time is still not safe. I've had 2 copies of the V2 Chroma, and 2 copies of the Ultimate, and although the Ultimate had some quality issues, the V2's "mecha tactile" buttons are completely inconsistent. Both copies of the V2 Chroma I've tried have wildly different travel/actuation points for their ABXY buttons with both of them having 2x (or more) travel distance on the X than the A buttons. I doubt that's intentional. Razer's quality control is borderline non-existent. I don't know if the side-grade was worth losing the consistent ABXY buttons, media module, top rumble motors, and the case. Btw by the time I "completed" my RMA (gave up and accepted that I've received a poor quality product when the replacement arrived), it took 2 months and a week. Thanks Razer, very cool! PS: My tiny 16x9cm hands cannot comfortably reach the back M buttons on the V2 Chroma either.
I'm actually a massive fan on the mouse clicks for abxy and bumpers. Im really sad to see that they phased those out because those are always the buttons that break for me on xbox controllers but after like 3 years none of them have shown age.
I’ve been using the tournament edition for like 4 years and just recently got the Chroma v2 and both are solid controllers. Using the Chroma more now I like it more than the tournament edition. I’d not sure how durable the Chroma is but the ultimate tournament edition is built like a tank. I’ve dropped it like 40 times and it’s still standing
Been using an Ultimate since 2017, gone through 3 or 4. Haven't tried the V2 or Chroma, I just be repairing my controller now. Don't know that I want a Chroma
Been thinking about getting something other than a stock controller for my pc. Nearly went with Scuf if I didn't come across this so thank you. Also I like your jacket
I'm liking my v2 chroma the best out of my controller collection, the only thing is the cable became unreliable after a few months, had to get a new cable and it's been ok so far
Wolverine ultimate RT button isn’t a trigger. It is a button unlike LT which is a trigger. Try playing a driving game. It accelerates instantly when you barely press down on RT as if you are holding Rt Down all the way
Dude just keep going and do exactly what you're doing hopefully we get to see you go from controllers to phones/tablets/PCs and techstuff you literally made me stop watching everybody else and got me hooked on your kickass channel huge respects homie 👍🏼
Hey cuda as a fighting game player I primarily used stick due to the quicker and more fluid response and control rather to the blocky feeling d pad. I picked up the razor xion fight pad or whatever it’s called. It’s a tactile circular 8-way d pad and the best I’ve felt. One glaring issue. The way the dpad is made is concave towards the middle this cause 180 semi circular input command to be insanely difficult and 360 circular inputs basically impossible. Just thought I would say this as the Wolverine has a pretty similar dpad.
Finally a much anticipated and relevant video to your channel. See this video already has more views within 3 days than the views of your last quad and monitor review videos combined?
Hey bro I got to say after this video came out, I purchased 10 month ago the V2 chroma to replace my Elite series 2. Honestly your review helped a lot and you were right about this controller is one of the best on the market. It is very recommended for competitive play. After almost a year I feel almost zero stick drift nor issues with the controller. How can I reference you to razer ? I do have to buy more of them and would like to give razer your name or code so you get something from the big green snake
@@awdwadawda352 i m gonna buy half a dozen for my team , and a couple more for friends. Definitely will discuss a price then. I have zero issue with mine, only down side of the controller are the back button/paddle are not clicky like the bumpers or abxy buttons..
@@Gaetan.N You do you man, nice of you to make some people happy with your money (hopefully). Also, if you are going to run a team and maybe from this account. You might want to delete your "ex get back" playlist, it looks unprofessional. (not trying to shame you or something). Good luck on your endeavours and hope you get a good deal from Razer! :)
@@awdwadawda352 lmao no this a personal account , thanks for the advice though about a playlist made more than 5years ago, Mr professional stalker haha. get a life
bouta get one or a scuff, Poewr A wont fix the deadzone/stickdrift issue where everyone of their controllers are pre-set with a certain deadzone that you can't override, making turning to the left much more twitchy than turning to the right, and making stickdrift only happen to the left which fucks your aim royally
I recently purchased a TE because of how you mentioned it seemed to last longer, i purchased a 3 year warranty ontop of the already 1 year warranty, I will say all of the people i've found complaining about Stick drift, Bumper buttons becoming unresponsive i have to ask. HOW HARD ARE YOU PUSHING THESE BUTTONS? i saw endless 1 star reviews on the wolverine with enough dead skin and grime not only on the grips, but under the back paddles to make a clone of the person. Then they review it like "Oh this controller is trash 5m of use and it broke" and their sitting here somehow turning a black controller yellow, how do you even manage? i've yet to have any issues at all with my TE not a single one. then again im the same person who was able to keep 1 single remote for 3.5y on my xbox one because my sister dropped it from quite a height and broke it. Buy a TE if you can find it. Walmart has them, and an extra 3y warranty is literally 25$.
you mind elaborating a little? You think the TE is the best d followed by the Ultimate? Thanks! also, Since you seem familiar with this dude(just found him), would you know what he has recommended as the absolute best Xbox controller with paddles? Appreciate your insight
@@0wl_licks know this is a old comment but I think he'd say the razer. Way better reliability than it's competition. Had my ultimate for a year now and about to buy the chroma.
@@IngeniousReaper I'm on my second chroma. Warranty was the best money I ever spent. Not that the chroma isnt great. Probably my fault for gripping and pressing too hard while clapping cheeks. It's an awesome controller for sure. The only thing is, I believe the TE allows you to use that sensitivity shift button function to increase sensitivity where as the chroma only allows you to reduce it. I also wish the triggers had the option to be mechanical button presses instead of triggers. While it does allow you to greatly reduce the travel of the triggers which is better than nothing. It also doesn't let you remap the joysticks via the razr app. I'm done splitting hairs. It really is a great controller. No stick drift whatsoever If buy it again for sure. That said, I'm still very interested in trying scuf and battle beaver's top controller
@@0wl_licks Yeah man Razer makes super solid controllers forsure. I'm not to sure about scuf. Had one in 2015 so it was a long time ago but it was honestly one of the worst controllers I've had. Came with stick drift and with in 4 months the grip of the thumbstick came off. Might be better now though since it was so long ago.
Bro, your video is all over the place. I like your persona but you're all over the place with the comparison. It's like you didn't even do a comparison until the very end. Looking forward to more content
vCuda, I find the standard Xbox Series X controller to be far too small for my large hands. Would the V2 be the better choice for me versus the ultimate? Also, another reviewer stated that he felt the plastic felt much "cheaper" and thinner on the V2. Do you agree with that? Does it feel as solid ? Thanks.
For those looking for the best controller and have not had time to watch all of his reviews please read and be forewarned this may be long: I would first like to state my credibility, I have been playing on analog controllers for over 21 years. There is not a controller on the market today I have not bought, disassembled and tested. I have competed in many tournaments throughout my life with an emphasis on competitive FPS like Halo, GOW, COD and more. When looking for the Best controller, above ANYTHING else, the thumbstick potentiometer MUST be the deciding factor. It doesn’t matter how fast the triggers help you shoot or how great the buttons feel if you are unable to achieve TRUE aim. The radial X and Y movement you are trying to perform on your thumbstick must transfer over into the game without delay or lag. Many of you think it’s your aim when in fact you are using a controller with too much stick drift and trash potentiometers. I can tell you right now that MOST fancy controllers that have removable joysticks will always be at the bottom of this list. Controllers like the scuff and the elite series 1 & 2 belong in the trash can. DO NOT even consider these as an option. I don’t care if your favorite streamer advertises them, they are paid to endorse them. Both elite series controllers come FROM THE FACTORY with dead zone issues! You can wiggle the thumbsticks back and forth a certain degree and get no in game input. I have tested this with 3 elite 1’s and 6 elite 2’s to confirm this. Lastly, the TLDR, I would highly HIGHLY recommend POWER A over ANY other brand of controllers for Use on xbox/PC. Through all of my testing power A has proved to have the most precise thumbsticks and potentiometers that will correlate to the best input you’re going to get in todays market. A very close second would be the REGULAR Xbox series S/X controller but the problem with it is that there is no options for back paddles unless you get them modded or buy aftermarket paddles.. I would also add that the PS4 controller has some of the most responsive thumb-sticks/ potentiometers on the market but this crowd seems to be Xbox based. I am currently using the $25 Power A enhanced controller and have about 5 on backups for when they crap down. Less CAN be more. Sometimes all the flashy extra bells and whistles of a controller can steer you away from the very basics of what it’s intended to do….all in all, I recommend power A, specifically the enhanced controller because they are fixed joysticks and have 2 mappable buttons on the back which I believe should be standard on all controllers now. I have done an extensive amount of testing and this controller has proven to have the best potentiometers In a controller and you will see it for yourself. For anyone who read this long message, I hope it helps. Any criticism or questions feel free to ask/comment! - cheers
@@FirstOfTheYear777 The default series X controller is built very well! What I mean by fixed joysticks is that they are not interchangeable or swappable. With the elite and many other controllers you are able to pop off and swap out the thumbsticks and even worse, adjust the tension which just creates even more problems with input registration within the potentiometer. I’ve examined the internal components of both the series x and the elite and the series x’s are built and designed far better. If you ever find yourself wanting back buttons give the power A enhanced a go. For $25 you can’t lose.
@@RickofEarthTV I use the turtle beach recon controller. The analog is decent quite of stick drift at deadzone 3 when I play warzone. I like ps4 controllers only issue is their back button attachments by Sony is so uncomfortable
I have a power a fusion version 1 with damn near no stick drift at all. I've had it for a year and its the best. I have the power a v2 and I use the paddles for the v2 on my v1. It's my favorite controller with almost no stick drift in every game I play, Apex, Warzone, Halo. I play .01 deadzone or the closest thing to zero in every game and no drift when checking my maps on warzone and no stick drift on apex at all. Only thing is my Right bumper is giving out which is what i use to shoot. So I have to use the triggers again to aim and shoot and I use a paddle mapped for my right bumper.
@@siah3305 What's the difference between Power A v1 and Power A v2? I only use the controller for Warzone and BF. It is possible to program the lower buttons under L3, which is responsible for the run?
Stickdrift is not inevitable in all controllers.I live close to china and the benefits of that are that our country gets some chinese controllers (not available in US) with 0 drift problems.
I know that you might not do a video about this, but which one do you prefer? The V2 Chroma, or the TE? I am just curious to know, as you said that the TE is better for most people over the Ultimate, so I'm curious if you have changed your mind on that, or you have kept with that thought. I have a TE, I love it, it's an amazing controller, and I don't feel like changing to any other controller. And just to ask, how is the Wolverine V2 Chroma? I have rather small hands, and I would like to know if someone like you doesn't have any problems getting used to the body of the V2 Chroma, as you basically review controllers on a daily (not rlly daily but yk what I mean) basis. The body looks crazy bulky, but looks can be deceiving, but nonetheless, I'm not switching either. I just want to know how the ergonomics work for you.
I have a wolverine v2 Chroma and here is my opinion on it: Pros: The paddles get a while to used to and the D-pad is great. Arguablely one of the best in the industry. Buttons feel great and the two extra bumpers at the back do help. With those two bumpers in the back, you can set it to another function/button OR you can adjust the sensitivity of the joysticks on it. I will say doing that is really good in FPS games and makes your aim 2x better. You get a taller thumbstick provided to switch out which is also good for improving your aim. The rear grips feel comfortable and the trigger stops are ok. Stick drift is not very prevalent in this model too. Cons: If you update the fireware on the razer app, your controller will be bricked. I had my controller bricked after doing this and it was a major hastle to fix it. Also the usb-c wire will randomly disconnect from the controller, which is a pretty big issue to deal with. However, you can circumvent it by taping the usb-c wire to the port to prevent any disconnections. The menu and map button(dont know the name of the button) are placed horribly and it is impossible to press it unless you have extremely long fingers. Conclusion: I do reccomend buying this controller when it is on sale for $100. If you do buy it, DO NOT UPDATE THE FIRMWARE. It will completely brick the controller.
Hi, are you allowed to provide the razer controller app version that you were given to see if we get the deadzone configuration for the wolverine ultimate?
Once you get used to the clicky buttons and its back paddles (which feel way better then elites wing type paddles) its probaly my favorite controller so far
I mean personally I see the fact the Wolverine V2 Chroma doesn't come with a carrying case as a positive cause it never leaves my desk so the case would sit in my desk unused taking up space I have a headset stand that also doubles as a display stand for controllers and that's where both my HyperX Cloud 2 Alpha and my Wolverine V2 sit when not in use
Already pulled the trigger on an Elite series 2. I might return tho after watching your vids. I guess then you'd say the best currently is the V2 Chroma regardless of cost?
great vid bro, selling my wolverine ultimate and buying a wireless xbox “elite controller” would you consider the original microsoft elite controller ok or shall i get the newer version?
I have a razer wolverine ultimate I been using for over a year now and honestly I think razer overall is a good company for an alternative controller options that don't break the bank like the elite controllers cause I have broken 3 of the with stick drift and I bought the wolverine because it was cheaper and wired so no battery pack and haven't looked back since
Hi, I am hoping that you answer my question. I was wondering if you recommended to buy the Wolverine v2, I know it is a stupid question and you would tell me that the chroma but the thing is that in my country it is not available, well yes but it more expensive that it should. Or else what other control do you recommend for competitive instead of v2 in case that that you don’t recommended the v2
Still rocking the ultimate. On my second one. I just like the feel and mainly the buttons. I want a very light with zero feeling response. I do own the Elite series 2 and god I hated it. Even after a month using it I still grab my ultimate. It feels smaller and the button response feels slower.
anybody having trouble updating the chroma? i try to mess around with the deadzones setting in the app which prompts me to update controller and it just stays at 0%
Great video, i bought a V2 chroma after your recommendation and I'm loving it the only issue is when I go on the deadzone settings the right stick starts to get "movement" even when I'm not touching the stick but in game nothing happens so I'm wondering if i should get a replacement or if that's normal!
@@vCuda ok I will be trying to seek a replacement, if you can give it a watch it's 15s each, is this stick drift or is it something else? ua-cam.com/video/r9_tzUK76gM/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/TSyEdq2M8Cc/v-deo.html Ps: sorry about the fan noise

Thx if it’s still 80 I might buy it instead of a new headset bc I got to buy a monitor first
Better air flow and easier to breathe if u stand up while doing vlogs.

@Lee - S Christmas 2016 to Christmas 2019

I appreciate your honesty! Was excited for a video like this. Next, you should do the Xbox Elite Series 2 vs. Wolverine V2 Chroma.
That will be enjoyable to watch especially vCuda’s comparison lol. But in my opinion, or i think anyone, v2 chroma will win, not because of the amount of functions but just because of the reliability but i may be completely wrong.
Well he put how that’ll go in the beginning of the video
I think the next one is gonna be the Instinct Pro VS the series 2 once I buy another one
@@vCuda yea fuck that controller
I got it fix 7plus times and no change
The V2 Chroma I wasn't gonna get, I really liked my wolverine TE, but it stopped working, so I was given a V2 Chroma for free by Razer, and I absolutely love it, also, thanks for your videos on the TE, they helped me in my decision to get Razer!
I would switch but the TE back buttons are perfect
How do you get a free one from Razer? I have a TE and some of the buttons are bugging out. Wondering if I can do same
Oh my God, my TE’s left stick isn’t working as well and I felt SAD because I LOVED the layout for the TE especially how the 2 mappable buttons underneath are set.
Thank you boys for the compliments, it's made my day! And as for the V2 Chroma, it fits in the case if you push it in there lol.
Can u list what thumbsticks fit on the chroma pls?
@@vCuda what KF or thumbstick extension cap can I use on the v2 chroma ☹️☹️
Owned and (ab)used every wolverine so far for long time. Best controllers hands down. Until the VW chroma. Thing is garbage compared to ultimate!!!!
Shape is ok. Triggers are too hard, magnetic thumbstick let go under intense usage especially with kontrolfreeks. ABXY buttons are harder to press and slower than ultimate, feels cheaper made than the ultimate and AFTER 2 MONTHS of usage one of the back bottoms has simply broken off!!!!🙈🙈🙈
Wolverine ultimate is the last real good razer controller!
Thank you so much for making this, I have been using the ultimate for quite some time and love it to death but after watching this I want to try out the Chroma. Keep up the amazing work, love your videos man!

@@bloodplaguedwolf8055 ahh dang. Alright man thanks for the reply 👌🏼
All this to say, this still works amazingly
I also love my ultimate it’s awesome
Hope this helps.
thank u for such a good ansver, its very helps) now decide between chroma v 2 and ultimate v1) dead zone in ultimate and chroma are the same?

Always happy to help!
I’m on the other side of the spectrum where my elite 2 is the greatest thing ever for me. Had it since release with heavy fortnite usage daily. I’m talking like 3-5hrs everyday of competitive gaming and I’m having zero issues.
@Andrew Gibson Wireless competitive play is impossible with a controller. Input delay is still a huge issue for Controllers especially wireless ones
@Andrew Gibson yea I don’t like the placement on much other controller paddles either. I find the elite to be the best fit ergonomically for my hands.
Wish u posted more often bro, been watching u for maybe over 2 yrs now. Keep up homie, glad to see you back at it.
The fact that the ultimate is available right now brand new for $80 has to just end the debate.
Are you getting it ?
If you are does it say that it does not have a date that it’s gonna deliver ?
I’ve been using a tournament edition specifically from your reviews and I just wish that they’d bring that one back or just add buttons to the base v2 and raise the price by $20 and I’d be sold🤷🏼♂️
who knows, Razer might make a V2 Chroma TE. I hope I don't jinx it...
@@kilo_imm I really hope so too but I doubt it given that the old wolverine ultimate has basically taken it’s place as far as price.

Great video bro! I just picked up the V2 chroma and Love it. Miles better than my elite series 2 IMO.
I just got my v2 chroma and was disappointed with two things.
1 - you cannot change profiles quickly like ultimate, you need to plug it into the computer to make the change.
2- you can't remap the buttons playing like the tournament did.
in addition to the ease of muting the microphone
These two questions are making me think about returning and getting the ultimate again
I played for more than 3 years with tournament ultimate and I always liked it, however I found its durability a little bad, although I played fps every day...
Big respect on the teardown, great info from it

I got the V2 for fighting games because for certain games that have those circular inputs, the D-Pad just seems amazing for that. It's a HUGE letdown that there's no option for button swapping on the fly independent of the app like the ULT. With the TE and ULT controllers, i felt like the ULT controller had the best D-pad for fighters. Now that this one was released, i think it's this one.
@@Jacobzxl I have to check. Never tried that with this controller
I love both but will say the v2 chroma fits in your hands significantly differently. The wolverine ultimate feels like an Xbox controller and the v2 chroma feels like a switch pro controller
Sup bro, haven't watched you in about 6 weeks but it looks like you're still making banger content
Can't put out a dull video, it's against my religion as a youtuber
Very surprised to learn the the v2 chroma triggers do not rumble. From what I’ve seen in the web, the ultimate does. Can you confirm this? I mostly play racing games so rumbling triggers are pretty important.
Yes, the wolverine V2 triggers don't vibrate. But if you're into racing games wouldn't a steering wheel be a better option? Gamepads are only good enough for arcade racing games.
I ordered the Wolverine TE and I got big man hands so I know I’m going like it.
i went for the turtle beach recon and man this thing is pretty solid for its price and NO STICK DRIFT! Albeit it's been only a month, highly recommend this controller. I'm coming off of Razer Raiju (PS4) TE and that thing drifted and so patchy like vCuda's mustache. But maybe if TB Recon dies on me, I'll be glad to try the V2 Chroma.
What is that chonky thumbtack you have on the Ultimate, and where do I buy one??
Side note: that was a phenomenal catch

So since they fixed the dead zone issue, what number should the sensitivity be on in the app?
Good question, i like to have it on 2, it works out pretty well for me
2 and 1 are your best bet but 1 will likely give you some Drift. It starts out at 4, so at the VERY least drop it down to 3 for accuracy sake
Cool VS Vid. "BUT"🤔 You forgot to mention how comfortable in the hands the V2 Chroma feels. Especially after extending playing sessions! Can you say... "Like a Glove" 🤗
Please show us how to overclock our controller
I've had the Wolverine Tournament Edition for over a year now and it's now having its first issue which is a partially unresponsive b button. Hopefully Razer can repair it or something because they are unfortunately discontinued in the only place I've seen one was for $200 refurbished on Amazon. This controller held up better than any other controller and definitely has felt the best.
Been looking at both controllers currently have the tournament edition. Thanks for the review!
Thanks for the video, just got v2 chroma replacement for my ultimate, but im planning on getting ultimate again since its only $80 on amazon
This is how two of my Wolverine Ultimates have broken, usually after 10-13 months of use.
I'm sorry to hear about your D-Pad failing man, especially for casual use!
Goated vid but u were drunk when making the thumbnail like the text of each controller was on the other imao
Yeah that button placement is ludicrous
Could you review the new victrix gambit pro controller
I'm actually a massive fan on the mouse clicks for abxy and bumpers. Im really sad to see that they phased those out because those are always the buttons that break for me on xbox controllers but after like 3 years none of them have shown age.
Been waiting for this. Glad it's up.

What's the issue? I have a raion and do those without problems. What part of the input is going wrong?

You think the TE is the best d
followed by the Ultimate?
Thanks!
also, Since you seem familiar with this dude(just found him), would you know what he has recommended as the absolute best Xbox controller with paddles?
No stick drift whatsoever
If buy it again for sure.
While I hate them, I just had my 2nd Wolverine Ultimate delivered yesterday from Best Buy for $80. Seriously. Holiday sale.
Yayyyyyy!!!!! Love your reviews! You're like the only reviewer I trust. Lol. Thank you for you input, and that jacket is sweet!
vCuda, I find the standard Xbox Series X controller to be far too small for my large hands.
- cheers
I really like the sticks on my default Series X controller. What do you mean by “fixed joysticks” on the Power A?
Hey vCuda, thanks for the review. can you recommend a gamepad for fighting, mortal kombat 11 in particular?
Regular design, not hitbox or analog stick
I have a wolverine v2 Chroma and here is my opinion on it:
Pros:
The paddles get a while to used to and the D-pad is great.
Cons:
If you update the fireware on the razer app, your controller will be bricked.
Is this in regards to the chroma or the wolverine
@@daynejepsen629 The Chroma is the one with clicky buttons
@@Mario-fg6ns is the chroma god for rainbow six siege
Great content brother! Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the comparison. Keep us updated on whether or not they make KFs that fit Razer controllers.
Will do!
Just get a nail filer and file the KF clips. They will fit eventually and won’t damage the controller
Perfect vid, was cracking head over these two
Victrix Gambit Controller next? 😇
Honestly I've been having a blast with my my chroma. I just kept the box and the kept the sticks I dont use in there
Already pulled the trigger on an Elite series 2.
I have a razer wolverine ultimate I been using for over a year now and honestly I think razer overall is a good company for an alternative controller options that don't break the bank like the elite controllers cause I have broken 3 of the with stick drift and I bought the wolverine because it was cheaper and wired so no battery pack and haven't looked back since
how’s it holding up
Hi, I am hoping that you answer my question.
This guy has the best reviews, I swear
anybody having trouble updating the chroma? i try to mess around with the deadzones setting in the app which prompts me to update controller and it just stays at 0%
Been having that issue went and got a new one today and can’t update it
I updated mine today and the controller just vibrates. No buttons work
My wolverine ultimate lasted 2 and half years with heavy use. My chroma already has a broken bumper after only 3 weeks of use
You killed me with the Biden joke 🤣
Great video, i bought a V2 chroma after your recommendation and I'm loving it the only issue is when I go on the deadzone settings the right stick starts to get "movement" even when I'm not touching the stick but in game nothing happens so I'm wondering if i should get a replacement or if that's normal!
If its effecting gameplay at high deadzone, then yes, I'd seek out a replacement
@@vCuda ok I will be trying to seek a replacement, if you can give it a watch it's 15s each, is this stick drift or is it something else?
