Competitive minor league e-sports player here, MOST (not all) of the members on our team roster are using 1080p 60hz monitors with decent GPUs, the kind of FPS that a GT710 is getting is actually insane for games it's meant to play, playing games at 60fps back when I grew up and played videogames was seen as a privilege (And I'm only 22), but back to the main point, you do not need such a high framerate for casual play, that was honestly a poor choice of words, for competitive play yes, you definitely need high fps for reduced input latency as in an e-sports setting every single millisecond counts, for example the difference between the kill time ms in CSGO and the kill time in CS2 being much higher so a good GPU is needed to compensate for poor coding, but for people just looking to have fun and play games, this GPU is fine and does it's job pretty well. My dad also has a GT720, we play Rocket league together, RTS games, and everything else that we both enjoy, yes he can't play triple A games like Elden Ring because that GPU will unalive itself, but we can still play borderlands 2 together, and honestly, that's probably more fun than any Fortnite player is having.

He sounds like hes at least 17... which means he probably has a job.
I'm 17, I have a PC with a 4070super that I built, and my entire setup-- including all my instruments-- total up to well over $5000.... I bought a majority of everything myself.
I’m mind blown it ran like that at all
That's wild - it's the same as like my old GeForce 8800 GTX from 2006....
you're insane for thinking casual players need stable 165, majority of pc players dont even have a monitor over 144hz, and a lot that do don't even change their windows refresh rate after buying one so they placebo themselves into thinking the new monitor feels more responsive
I don’t even think the refresh rates from 144 and upwards even matter imo
@@dragoneater2008_have you seen the side by side videos of 144 hz and 240 hz, even from 60 hz to 144hz is a HUGE difference
@@Kamfys i haven’t really seen many side by side videos but I’ve heard that 60-120 is a massive difference
him complaining about 60 fps like its unplayable versus me whos playing fortnite on a 60 hz monitor xD
@nofkool ikr its so stupid... im just happy running my games at 30fp, anything more is great.
@@z9nc982 If you experienced 165 fps like me, because I bought a 165hz monitor, then you cant go back to 60 fps. It feels awful, like there is a big input delay, and looks choppy af. Although when I had a 60hz monitor, I was like its not a big deal. But after you see higher fps, its very hard to go back.
@Dack-i calling someone poor is nasty I can buy a gaming PC for 12k bucks yet I chose to play on ps4 instead of spending that ridiculous amounts when I can buy practical stuff you're just a kid with your parents money YOURE the one who's poor that's your parents money not yours :)

I play on a 720p 60hz monitor lol
I used this graphic's card for gaming between 2012 - 2015 with 4GB DDR3 (single channel) and 1TB HDD. Edited videos, live streamed, developed java based projects and hosted a Minecraft server all on the same machine.

These days, you can build a PC with a 10th gen i5 and a 3060 for basically the same price. That at least is a mid-end PC.

MSI afterburner

it's the mouse people used in counter strike 1.6 since it was able to outperform most gaming mice up until 2014
Yo! this video blew up! congrats
Hmm interesting...
My laptop with 8gb of ram, i5 processor, and a gtx 1650 is struggling for 20 fps 💀
Maby its because if youre ram.... I mean seriously most of the times it goes again on the gpu but 8 gig ram???!! When playing games, you need at least 16 fr. Some normal games cant take 8 gig ram anymore. But yeah also the rtx is """maby""" not the newest anymore. Im also getting a new pc since buying another gaming laptop with good specs costs you around 2k up to 4k. I mean like fr bro, a gaming laptop with 60 fps in shooter games like apex costs minimum 1,7k fr. Just buy a pc that has more space, better cooling, better components since laptops components cost more because you have to make em fit in such tight space.... pcs just make more sense. Only need a monitor but that shouldnt be much of a problem lets be honest here.
Thats wild, i have a pc with the same gpu, amd 5 5500 and 16gb and i can play at 165hz and like 200-400 uncapped
@@IllIllIllIllIIIllI wich games? If you say minecraft i will personally ignore you.
@@galilelollel9658 fortnite, maybe 200-400 was too high but def 200 - 250 uncapped, on minecraft the highest i got with optimization was 1,4k fps and without any optimization 200fps, the gtx 1650 is a really good card for the price
@@IllIllIllIllIIIllIthe 1650 isn't really that good for the price, you can get cards with double the performance and double the vram for only 30- 50 euros more.
At 2:18 that CPU can actually handle windows 10 and 11 quite well if it weren’t for the fact there’s definitely something wrong with that SSD. I’ve run even older CPUs on windows and they will run fine if the OS drive isn’t horrible.

Multi-billion Dollar company (or trillion): Releases GT 710
If you're stuck with an overclock on boot, you can boot into safe mode on windows and uninstall msi afterburner. Then when you reinstall make sure msi afterburner doesn't launch when you start your PC by changing startup apps in task manager.
man does not let it die.
yea this man does not know the struggle of low end devices
this is painful but I cant stop watching
The fact that you use a completely unknown (to me) program for *optimizations* instead of doing the work yourself says quite a bit of your knowledge and personallity lol.
Also dear god, I'm so happy I never had to deal with a card like that. Tbf I built my first rig 8y ago and by then we had the 10-series cards fortunately.
2:25 bro thats lit what i have to go through every time i turn on my pc but somehow with extreme optimisation i made it run roblox on 300 fps without even gpu...
Bro I love watching people like you play game on performance that’s normal for me like 20 fps at max for you is horrible for me I think my laptop would deserve a great day idk what
Wtf I didn’t click on the video to watch you make an old gpu run a modern game, I clicked because I wanted to see old gpu go brrrr with massive overclockibg. Baited. Feelsbadman.

I literally used a gt-710 as my gaming gpu from like 2018-2022. Then upgraded to a R7-350x. Which was decent. Now, I'm using a 1660 super for gaming on my primary monitor and the R7-350x for my 2 vertical monitors. Currently running quad monitors.
u aint wrong bro. when i was homeless i got a semi permanent room at the shelter. i managed to get a pc from cash converters for pennies on the dime. i had a i7 3770 and gtx 960. i had no internet so i had to game on 3g hotspot on a prepaied plan. was tough times back then lol.
i was planning on buying a RTX 3060 for gaming but you just opened my eyes, i think ill go with a GT 710
brings me back to my childhood playing fortnite on a no name amd processor that could barely push fortnite 30 fps at 144p
Dunno why people hating I thought it was a cool video as a previous gt710 owner😂 You should try out a $30 gt1030 next.

Your dad is rocking those cs_office peripherals
For some reason, Nvidia STILL SUPPORTS IT!! With driver updates in fact as when I'm writing this comment the last driver update was released on July 9th, 2024

I ran a GT745 for a few years, its rough. Real talk though my years gaming on that were probably my fondest memories so i cant hate on it too hard
Dont talk about the nightmare of the 210 ;-;
Not the hard drive being old enough to marry someone
I vividly remember playing Fortnite on a laptop with an HD 4000 and an i5-3320m. 20fps in 480p on DX11 with low settings. Playable by my standards back then.
noooooo i cant play my colorful quirky battle royale live service zoomer slop without 400fps and an ultrawide 8k 900hz curved monitor noooooooooo
I’m a whole year older than that hard drive
2006 hard drive is crazy man
Competitive minor league e-sports player here, MOST (not all) of the members on our team roster are using 1080p 60hz monitors with decent GPUs, the kind of FPS that a GT710 is getting is actually insane for games it's meant to play, playing games at 60fps back when I grew up and played videogames was seen as a privilege (And I'm only 22), but back to the main point, you do not need such a high framerate for casual play, that was honestly a poor choice of words, for competitive play yes, you definitely need high fps for reduced input latency as in an e-sports setting every single millisecond counts, for example the difference between the kill time ms in CSGO and the kill time in CS2 being much higher so a good GPU is needed to compensate for poor coding, but for people just looking to have fun and play games, this GPU is fine and does it's job pretty well.
So this is what a fever dream is.
2:24 ,,the cpu is soo slow it can open anythink" also the disk running at 100%
