i love the sound of a 2 stroke climbing a hill , riding the governor ,,i learned to drive a big truck in an old peterbilt with a 12V71 and it just loved winding to the moon ,,,i remember a guy i had ride with me once that was used to driving a truck with a 3406 CAT ,, and he about fainted when i rode the governor climbing a long hill at 2300 rpm listening to that jimmy scream ,, driving that CAT before you hit 1800 you're looking for the next gear ,, that 2 stroke you don't shift till you hit the governor ,, do that with a CAT and you'll need ROD bearings really soon ,, i know from experience

I am not really able (or desire to) drive large RV's due to my glaucoma but if I had to do it all over again 20+ years ago, I would have loved to have a bus like Lenny. Simple two-stroke but bulletproof engine. ALL simple. No crazy electronics, computers, smog requirements. Built for the road. Previous class A motorhomes I have owned have shaken apart while on the road. You need Lenny for the long haul. I would take him over a Newell, Prevost or Bluebird any day of the week. Built for the ROAD (I already stated that lol) like a 40's Greyhound bus is meant to be.
Good to see him motoring again!

I nearly fell out of my chair at 12:05 when you said "That is for my California viewers." Little do most know (I live in So.Cal.) that your grey trash can and your blue recycling can are both dumped at the exact same area inside the dump and are buried together by the dozers there. I know this as a fact as witnessed by some of my friends that work a the local dumps (different ones). One friend operates a dozer that buries it all.

Best window cleaner yet is Mr Clean Magic eraser, and a clean microfiber cloth. Takes the film off of the inside glass, no fuss, no scratches, no solvents. Just gently rub the wet Magic eraser over the glass in a circular motion, then buff with the cloth. Got this from a life-hack on line several years ago. Try it, you'll like it.

Love that sound. As a kid in the 70’s, we were 1/4 mile from freeway, (Interstate 15) in Victorville, CA. I would open my bedroom window and listen to the trucks pulling from the D Street on-ramp, which is pretty steep.
I could tell whether Detroit, Cummins, and the chicken haulers with their Cats sounding oh so pretty.
Rode in, and later on drove many a truck with a Detroit in it. V-6, 318 and 350 Detroits. I’ve always loved that sound.

Back in the 70's, we had an International Loadstar 1700 with a non synchro 5 speed with a two speed axle. That was a double clutch beast! We also had a GMC with a 6v71 supercharged Detroit and an Alison that I am sure caused some of my hearing loss LOL! I drove an KW aardvark in the military with a 13 speed Spicer that you only used the clutch for first and all the other gears slid like butter!

$900??? I wonder if it's feasible to go to a sheet metal or machine shop and see if they can make a muffler for you that will bolt in. Maybe one that uses chambers instead of perforated tubing and will flow better. Just an idea...

The fact he has sat so long amd got going again with so little problems (1 slight oil leak) just goes to show if you maintain things well and do minimal requuired ongoing starts etc while stored things dont tend to get bad or worse. Now a few years ago I knew about Lennie and his brothers and I was taught from videos about 2 stroke diesels and repairing them, plus their different types. So Thanks to this video and hundreds previous ones, this 75-year-old Englishman could work on these engines at a push I guess, but doubt I ever will.. Knowledge Is all In this world so thank you.
