    Hey Scott just an FYI if you release the interlock lever between the brake pedals it would allow you to brake steer the tractor. Farmers use that to turn tighter corners. Practice it when it suits just to get the feel of it.

    • @alan6832
      @alan6832 24 дні тому

      If the engine ran 6000 RPM without damage, why is the governor not set higher for more power? Plus I guess that is a design error allowing shaft wear to drive the fuel pump but not the governor, plus allowing the engine shutoff to depend on air pressure, which I would look into changing the latter, I guess to electric, requiring voltage to keep it running.

    • @alan6832

      Do you think the dirty air filter may have saved the engine?

    Kudos to the tow dudes. Really appreciate the amount of care they show - so much better than the usual "good enough" attitude I seem to come across these days. I sure can't afford a bus, but if I ever came across one by the side of the road and in a pickle...I'd probably suggest these guys. And that they then take the bus to you, Scott - obvs. 😁

    I know SO MANY people who would be spinning tires and shooting gravel everywhere trying to get up that hill. Low and slow - Keeping your tires gripping is the ONLY way to go! As soon as your tires spin, you have LOST 100% of your traction.

    Your little New Holland 4WD tractor is a winner. That was quite a chore, pulling that bus
    up a steep driveway. By the way, that's a very nice old bus. Sturdy, solid, not flashy, and
    its got good character. I can tell the owner is fond of it. I would be too.

    Need to let the air out of those back tires. The sidewalls actually should be flexing just a bit, they don't get hot because you are moving so slowly. But if you do that, you will be amazed at how much more traction you get. Beautiful bus, I would pay the towing to get you to work on it as well.

      Well it worked well on this more vintage style bus but a lot of buses would be too tall you get over 14 ft you run into trouble quick the newer buses are still going to require a RGN & even though a bus isn't over weight or width it's still considered a specialized load most owners are less motivated to hire the guys with the real nice equipment because of the money
