Listen to Royal Coda - We slowly lose hope for things to come. The singer Kurt Travis was in Dance Gavin Dance for 2 albums. The guitarist is Will from DGD. 2nd guitarist Sergio Medina from Sianvar / Stolas (touring bass for DGD recently) And on drums Joe Arrington from A Lot Like Birds. Check them out ❤
Glad you really dug this one, Man of the Year is one of their best songs imo. Gotta recommend Philosopher King and Here Comes the Winner, two more bangers that really show off the whole bands skill.
I did have a cheeky watch of that first before the live gig video, because I thought it was actual live audio. Loved the shirts the guys were wearing! Haha
@@MetalHeavyLuis well tree city sessions is a live stream concert they put on a couple months ago and compiled an album out of the concert itself. So the recorded audio is all the band performing live but obviously some more live fine tuning was done that in your average live gig. But man of the year tree city sessions 2 live music video. Really shows these guys in action with decent quality
Tilian's voice is a bit like Marmite. You either love it or hate it. This is personally my favourite song ever and his voice got better since the previous album with We Own The Night on it, but I understand that it's not for everybody.
def do inspire the liars next its another one where the clean vocalist pushes himself pretty hard as well and yea those note on the guitar during the break down all hail the "panic chord" lmao
Great vid man. If you're keen to hear more from them I still think you'll dig "Philosopher King". Also: sorry man whoever recommended the live version should've specified the Tree City Sessions 2 version (2021) - they filmed it on a bridge at night and it had fantastic production values so it makes for a wicked experience.
Thanks man I definitely will give that a listen aswell. And funny story! I actually did watch that one straight after this one and it was really good and cinematography speaking was great! Didnt show any of that footage cos i thought i should go with the actual live, no studio interference, no post production, just raw sound and i was very impressed with the vocals there aswell. New found respect definitely thoroughly enjoyed recording this video 🙌🏻🤘🏻
@@MetalHeavyLuis Ah I see, you were looking for something from a proper live concert, not just a "cleaned up" live version, I can respect that. Glad you enjoyed; nothing like discovering new tunes.
when i was younger around the time these guys came out (they had a different singer back then) i wasnt a fan of the singing like Tilian's. One of the first bands i got into that singer would get real high is A Skylit Drive. i remember the first time i heard them (cant remember what song) i asked my friend "who's this chick singing?" He replied "its not a chick. its a guy" Michael Jagmin is his name. Maybe check them out sometime. i know you'll love the band. Oh and i dont know if anyone has mentioned this to ya but DGD has like every album theyve released in instrumental versions 👍🏼
Have definitely had Skylit Drive come up on my spotify every now and then and never had any complaints. In a genre so full of heavy deep vocals the lighter/higher ones just come out of nowhere and need adjusting for me haha!
This sound quality on this reaction is on point 👌 I recommend Backwards Pumpkin Song Hot Water on Wool+Reprise: ua-cam.com/video/b4JreEbNr3I/v-deo.html (this one please) Shark Dad Variation Bloodsucker Happiness Just to give the roster some variety lol
Bloodsucker is still one of my favorite tracks from Artificial Selection. Andrew Wells and Martin Bianchini absolutely tear up the guitar work on that one.
Glad you like it, the live version is amazing, but not that one, listen to the three city session one, that´s the nest onee. I think you can dig inspire the liars. Saludos desde España
you mentioned the band DRUGS im sure that , maybe, youre familiar with chiodos then? pretty sure they have like 3 or 4 albums it was the lead singers band before creating DRUGS

great reaction mate!
Thankyou! Blew me away with that intro!

Seen a lot of people mention Philosopher King will definitely give it a listen cheers bro!
@@MetalHeavyLuis Philosopher King is definitely an amazing track Johnathan hit it right on on the head
I liked their music ok, then I saw them live. Totally hooked! Planning on seeing them again this fall.
From the live videos I've seen they carry themselves very well and are not so reliant on post production man can sing very well live aswell!
Now you gotta do the tree city session 2 version
I did have a cheeky watch of that first before the live gig video, because I thought it was actual live audio. Loved the shirts the guys were wearing! Haha

Think this song shows off his best attributes very well, this was a pleasure to listen too!
Dude i fucking love D.r.u.g.s such a good band, if you wanna hear more of tilian's "scream" you should check inspired the liars
Video coming soon!
Such an amazing song. My favorite song by them
Honestly it blew me away
def do inspire the liars next

The Panic chord haha! Love it!
Lost by them is fucking legendary in my opinion, but parody catharsis is a banger as well as philosopher king

they also have a side project called secret band that goes nuts, it's only dirty vocals, moon by secret band is my favorite of theirs
Thats actually quite interesting will be sure to have a deeper look thanks!
Fun fact about D.R.U.G.S
The recently announced that they have just signed on to “Velocity Records” and have an album planned for this year
Well that sounds like something to have a look at for nostalgia mostly!
Nice one man, if you do anymore ill pop back
Thanks man I'm sure I'll be posting something in regards to DGD soon enough haha!

This song absolutely slaps live. Hope they do it in Sept when I see them (hopefully see them)
Indeed it does, great song one of their best can't lie!

That live version was indeed amazing aswell as the whole look and feel to it. And ofcourse the crazy floral shirts!
myyyyyyyyy maaaaaaaaan, niceeeeeeeee going

I've only heard of the band chiodos in reference to DRUGS never the actual music but yeah DRUGS ended way too quick for me
pog
much pog
Drugs was old chiodos.. look up chiodos!!
Think I saw something the other day that D.R.U.G.S. are coming back or playing again! Listened to Chiodos yeaaaars ago!
It seems like you'll enjoy all the album tracks more than the singles. Their singles are considerably more 'poppy'.
Yeah 100% not to say the poppy songs are bad however. So far no complaints!
The two singers before him definitely have more palletable ranges. Check out songs like Carl Barker, lemon meruinge tie, or rock solid
I think I need to do some research on the whole band as a whole so I can understand the singers and when and where they came in and dropped out! Haha
@@MetalHeavyLuis Lemon Merengue Tie is a staple of their early catalog - definitely worth checking out!
