BEST DGD reaction lol 😂✌🏼🤘🏻 "fuck pb & j" lmao dude ive said it also no one does it better than those two. even Jon with the first two singers was nothing like him and Tilian. Will does some rappin in some songs and he did the dirty vocals when Jon was gone.
I love seeing you react. I am not kidding.. I had the exact feeling and reaction that you got (and I heard everything they put out before this) and this song being the last song on Mothership really caught me off guard. I can't really describe what I was feeling.. like getting goosebumps and orgasming (simultaneously) both for the first time in your life, while eating icecream and opening a present you really wished for on Christmas Eve. It's a system overload. I never felt that about a song after this..yet
Lol @fuck peanut butter and jelly. It’s hard not to love this band. I was hooked after my 3rd song by then for sure and their catalog does not disappoint.
They played this song on tour when I saw them live. They nailed it. Jon held THE scream even longer lol. Unless you get them on a really bad night, they legit sound just like this live with their current lineup.
This is one of those songs that you wish you could hear again for the first time. It's the ultimate rollercoaster ride. Tillian and Jon singing together is masterful. Believe it or not the live version from Tree City Sessions 2 is probably a better version. But regardless this is DGD royalty here. Glad to see you react the way we hoped you would. Peace
“ I had it all in the palm of my hand don’t have the time to start over again I had it all in the palm of my hands ran out of time now it’s over aagain!!!! This part gives me chills every time It’s so good I wish I thought of itv first and put it in a song and sang it just like this lol but I feel that verse so much
Lol there's a reason they put it as the album closer. You don't follow that up w a better song lol. I love how it opens so soft w his voice matching the guitar doing those pedal tones then the drop and the scream. Perfection
I've watched atleast 6 times now. Hands down my favorite reaction to this song, which imo is DGD's best song... On this album lol it's too hard to pick one..
What’s funny is this band has had so many different singers. At one point Jon left and the guitarist Will Swan was the screamer. Tilian is actually their third lead vocal. He was in a band called tides of man. Been listening to them from the beginning. Only band I know to survive 3 different lead singers.
You should listen to 1. Stroke God Millionaire 2. Young Robot 3. Son of Robot 4. Death of the Robot with Human Hair All of these songs line up in a story with the videos
6:13 ive been a fan for a while but im finally realizing how much i took Tilian's scream here for granted. Typically with dgd screaming role is filled by Jon but to have the clean vocalist do it is so meaningful bc it serves to imply tht he's had enough and hes done with everything. so rather than jon mess expressing that having tilian do it is so fvcking memorable. especially with how long the scream is sustained--i love every second. Reminds me why i love DTBM2's Purple Reign outro so much bc Jonny Craig legit sounds like hes been holding in those shouts the whole album starting with Spooks. Though jonny's shouts are more in despair, deep sadness, and regret over this song's more frustrated, fed-up-with, roar. tilian barely screams in dgd so i welcome it
This is exactly how I felt when I first heard this song. By all that is holy, unholy and in between, nothing compares to this shit. DGD quickly became one of my favorite bands, I like everything they've done until now, but holy shit Mothership is in a league of its own.
I knew you were gonna absolutely love this :D I was so sad after the firs few reactions that you didn't continue with dgd, but for sure do the whole mothership album. This song and inspire the liars are 2 of the standout songs, but the rest of the album also is really good. Starting of with Chucky vs. The Giant Tortoise, I'm sure you'll love that song as well.
They also have a side project called Secret Band that formed after their first lead singer left. It’s basically dance Gavin dance with just Jon screaming and it’s heavier.
Interested to hear you opinion on the previous 2 vocalists. They've been my favorite band for +15 years so I love them all in order of appearance. Haha.
@@UnfilteredReactions I would absolutely recommend: Lemon Meringue Tie, Untitled + And I Told Them I Invented Times New Roman (Untitled is the interlude), Open Your Eyes And Look North. Those are my go to songs for the Downtown Battle Mountain album. What can I say? I love myself some Jonny Craig 😤
@@ericgonzales6370 Love me some DBM! I second Lemon Meringue Tie. And It's Safe to Say You Dig The Backseat. From the 2nd album, self titled, Rock Solid...would love to see your reaction to that one lmao. Too many really if we are talking their whole discography. I really liked Jon and Jonny Craig together, so Purple Reign and Need Money from DBM II also
Hands down best reaction to DGD's Man Of The Year, you gotta record your reaction to there TCS2 live performance of this gem. I would forever be grateful along with many others. Again, great reacc. 🙏
Best reaction ever! Yes do the whole album. This is hands-down my favorite band of all time! I’ve been listening to these guys since I was 15 years old. It was a different singer then but Tilian took it up A notch. Wait till you go to one of the concerts and see them live
Man, you gotta check out Projectile Comet by Secret Band, it's got the same screamer and guitarist, basically DGD without tilian. I think that's probably the nastiest scream ever to leave jon's mouth, he used two breaths to get one word out.
Best reaction to this song on the internet. Dude I’m so happy to have witnessed your first listen. Do mothership man. It’s a great album. In my opinion a Masterpiece
Mothership is a masterpiece man. Start from the beginning and go all the way through. You will not regret it. Their other albums are great. If you’re gonna stray from mothership I’d recommend Shark Dad, Awkward, or Bloodsucker. But Mothership…
i know its been a while but I'd love to see you react to a full dance gavin dance album, especially mothership, afterburner or jackpot juicer. love these reactions
I discovered DGD like a year ago and they are already one of my favorite bands. They are so unique. I’d recommend “Deception” next. It is off of the same album as Inspire the Liars and Man of the Year. All killer tracks! 🤘🏼
I'm going to give you the same warning I just gave Dan....I feel its my civil duty as a DGD fan 😁 If you have not listened to their older stuff...like WIRISO and on....do it. Even if you have tried before and you "didn't really like it" I was the same. And I was dead wrong. I started listening to DGD in 2014 and I went back to their older stuff here and there and it never stuck until this year. Just...I really hope I'm writing this for no reason and you HAVE listened to everything and love it. I just feel like a total dummy and I don't want anyone else to miss out on literal gold like I did 🙂
Killer reaction man. Over the years I've become such a fan. You keep coming back because of the how technical the band is. The unique blend of the two singers and how they have no true genre. They just make great music.
They have 1 EP and 9 albums. And honestly since no one else has said it. I will. All of them have been excellent. Guitar work is always on point and Matt Mingus can bang the hell out of those drums. They had their fair share of lineup changes especially in the first 4 years. Mind you they released their first 4 projects in their first 5 years as a band. Their most notable changes have been that they've had 3 singers. 3 unique and incredibly different vocalists that all brought their own thing to the table. I think you should check out some of their earlier work just to see how they've developed. First song I suggest would be off their first album 2007s Downtown Battle Mountain "It's Safe To Say You Dig The Back Seat" it's got one of the best vocal performances from their original vocalist Jonny Craig. And it's very progressive. I hope you enjoy it.
You should 100% do the album! And you my good sir were correct this is the outro song to the album. You should do the full album and when you get to Man of the Year you should watch the live version. They have a very well produced version of the song from a live stream they did a few months back. You will love it bro
I'm biased and can listen to all of their albums and enjoy every minute of it. But some songs just don't sit well with some people and that's fine. But you should definitely check out their records through and through and you'll find some absolute GEMS. Love seeing a new DGD fan in the making. Keep up the content!
Youuu my good sir, need to listen to Blue Dream by DGD. It was before Tilian, when the singer was named Johnny Craig. It's a bit different of a vibe but still good
I think Prisoner/We own the night is probably the best one with Tillian , but Blue Dream, Carl Barker, uneasy hearts are best earlier songs imo. Their catalog is just so insanely good!
Just gotta wait until the reactor gets to this song 😂 Inspire the Liars was their radio play song believe it or not. There's a couple older songs that Will actually has a rap verse on, they get hella funky on those. Sorry for the book but the song is vaguely about infidelity while the band is on tour. I'm not sure how much real weight is behind that, but it's a deep message that is probably very relatable in the music scene. Also, don't fuckin worry man, it's ALL good.
Not for a reaction (you definitely could do a reaction of it, but more for your own pleasure hahaha) you should check out the live version, from the city tree sessions 2, they even have the video on UA-cam, it is fucking amazing. Saludos desde España
They have too many styles, songs and vocalist, to have a “THE SONG” that describes them, love the reaction from tho! Need more of this! And August Burns Red!
Nah this is definitely Tilian 's opus, Kurt arguably has one as well, I will give you that Jonny doesn't though, too many amazing tracks in the first album
Absolutely loved this reaction man. I will 100% sub if you do more DGD. Do you still plan on doing a reaction for the entire album Mothership? I didn’t see anything posted for it from you. You won’t be sorry, the entire album is just phenomenal and imo their masterpiece, and If you do that you might as well do the rest of their discography cuz everything they do is great and each album is so different
@@UnfilteredReactions After you listen to Mothership, I honestly recommend going backwards with the Tilian albums first (album 9 - album 5) as he’s their current clean vocalist and you’ve already started with Tilian’s songs. The first 4 albums and the EP have 2 different clean vocalists they had at different times and would recommend listening to those in chronological order afterwards (EP, album 1 - album 4). And then if you’re inclined to, do Tree City Sessions 1 and 2 last. I know that sounds kind of odd, but I seriously think that’s a great way to do it, might as well finish listening to their current clean vocalist first, and then listening to their older clean vocalists after
@Natedog so go backwards, I’ve never done that with a band. Good idea, I’ll put as a poll before I do it and see what people think cuz you make good points.
@@UnfilteredReactions awesome!
