The band has said that the reason they get knocked for not having a wild stage presence is because they try really hard to make the live show sound as close to the studio as possible.
The best part of this show was the countdown to start. It was just Jon Mess sitting in his bedroom eating a plate of rice and beans and staring in to his webcam, occasionally petting his cat. My brother and I were dyingggg
They’re my favorite band. Full stop. It warms my hearts to see other people enjoy them as much as I do, especially when it’s analyzed by someone else that plays music. Please PLEASE *PLEASE* keep journeying with Dance Gavin Dance. If I were to choose next: 1. “And I Told Them I Invented Times New Roman” (Jonny Craig on vox) 2. “Tree Village” (Kurt Travis on vox, Will Swan on heavy vox) Or 3. “Son of Robot” (Tilian on vox) Have a fantastic day!
My 11 year old noticed they are playing part of the song backwards at the beginning. We had tickets to see them last year and it was canceled. We watched this on our projector with the kids. It was fun! DGD is a favorite in our house.

@@AngryOlive_ definitely for me was the first time i heard the build up after tillian's intro. DGD always did really nice transitions from clean to heavy. But this song diverges from pretty sounding into mayhem so quickly and flawlessly. That drop always hits for me.

Hearing Tillian on record you'd immediately think, "No way he can do this live." I still don't know how he does it. I've never been a huge fan of his songwriting but he's a force vacally.

I had been listening to DGD for while, but your channel introduced me to this performance and it has become one of my favorite tracks. I love the convulsion from Jon Mess when he’s doing his manic screams 😂
I was sitting here thinking "Man, I never noticed the piano in this song." And it turns out it's just you. Jamming along and making it sound like it practically was already in the song. Love it.
This is literally my all time favorite band, I could listen to only them and be happy, not even gonna lie. I love that you love them so much! I feel like they don't get the love they deserve.
It's awesome to see how dgd went from one of the most unstable (for lack of a better term) bands, with constant line up changes etc. To becoming one of the scenes most consistent band, and a band that releases music so often, I think they definitely deserve their place and any success that comes along with it.
Tillian in particular is extremely talented AND extremely skilled. His vocal performances live and in studio are NUTS and blow so many singers from any genre out of the water.
If you do another DGD song it has to be Nothing Shameful featuring Andrew Wells. Andrew absolutely kills the feature and he is the Bands touring backup guitarist/backup clean vocals.
some people might not realize but this song is the total package that shows how great they are as band, the bass line, drums, riffs, melodies, brutal screams, tillian's range, lyrics all top notch in one song
I found this band when I was like 13? Back in 2008, the Kurt Travis era, a lot of people didn't like it, Kurt it still my favorite singer of all time. I'm glad that they picked up Tillian though, he fits perfectly in DGD.
Your enthusiasm and enjoyment of Dance Gavin Dance made for an awesome reaction video! Love DGD! Have been listening to them since earlier on in their career. I love that during this entire video especially towards the end you can see that Jon is super relaxed when he's screaming because it means the sound he's making is really healthy and he's not hurting his voice at all.
Seriously tho… If I had too much money I would pay for an album of my favorite songs with you playing keys. Just adding that one extra level to this amazing mountain of genius. DGD is the best band ever

I honestly prefer that. Bands with acts really aren't my thing like Slipknot and Kiss. Just show up, rock out, and go home.
Venetia Fair did both😊
@@aureumursa1833 Slipknot doesnt put on the same shows they used to before The Grey Chapter but I get what you're saying
At least their Studio and Live performances have FLAWLESS SOUND QUALITY. Jon can scream perfectly Live. Take that haters!
Jon Mess has great stage presence even if he doesn't move much.
Nothing impresses me more than someone that can just hear something and instantly create something awesome on the piano
Seriously, I’m all for an alternate rendition with his piano skills mixed in 😂
Hells yeah 👍 I'm super jelly, it's a real gift.
