I installed the Vantrue F1 into my 2018 Vmax. The hardest part was mounting the cameras so it looked OEM. I actually placed the module in the side of the bike where the stock tool bag is (I removed the tool bag) and literally tapped the headlight fuse for the accessory connect. The entire project took me about 8 hours and my buddies have said its the coolest looking and best job they have ever seen! The Vantrue F1 unit is AWESOME!!!
One thing to note is that the 4K feature is only available when using the front camera ONLY! When using the front AND rear camera, the resolution maxes out on 2k Front (HDR) + 1080P Rear. This makes the Innovv K7 a better deal, since it has 2k camera's both front and rear and is cheaper. I bought the VanTrue not knowing this. It still seems like a quality build, but they are using a marketing trick...
Mine is powered by a rechargeable lithium Ion battery tucked away on bike side hard case. Total independent from bike power & electronics. So far works well.
Thank you for the video! Can the SD card be formatted from the phone or do I need to remove the seat each time to physically remove the card? Can I access the videos over my home network to download the videos via wifi?
No, no need to remove the memory card, you can just reformat from the control unit mounted on the handlebars. I only briefly installed the unit to test and make a video and have not used it since. I sold the bike it was fitted to. From memory I transferred the videos to my phone via the app and then plugged my phone into my computer to download the files. It might be possible to do it via w ifi though.
Hi. Thanks for this, very helpful. Got one now but does your rear view camera playback recording show you on the wrong side of the road like mine? Also, the rear view recordings show number plates back to front wording? I have changed the ‘Rear Mirror’ setting but it’s doesn’t do any… Thanks.
Interesting. To be honest I only had it installed temporarily for the review but it sounds like it is a setting issue. Have you checked through the manual?
512 MB card? THe unit requires FAT 32 formatting, which for Windoze GUI formatting limits the card to be used to 32 GB. It does not format EXFAT cards of 512 GB capacity, they will be destroyed by trying it. Cards larger than 32 GB on the market come EXFAT formatted. It is possible to buy a Vantrue 512 GB card, which is high priced stuff. Or format the larger card using a software like Disk Genius (quick) or Windoze command line (time consuming). This is not part of the manual. I had to find out the hard way.
Why so much cable to bury? This is ridiculous. that stick on control panel w/huge cable is a fail. on a naked bike, under the seat is PACKED! 10 foot extension cables is ridiculous for a Motorcycle dash cam.
Great pictures quality

On behalf of all of the Knuckleheads out here, thanks for going over the Instruction Manual.
As Voltaire said, "common sense is not so common." 😏

I appreciate you doing this series on the F1. I purchased one and have not installed it yet. Have you had any issues with heating?
I only had the unit installed for the purpose of the review. I no longer have it, I gave the unit away to a Patreon supporter. ;)

Oh yeah one thing Chinglish voice commands and when you select 4k on front thats it no rear camera recording
I eagerly awaited the next instalment… This thing sounds like the ‘ducks guts’ 👍👍👍
Installation and test ride today Swish! Hopefully I'll get it edited and uploaded tonight. ;)

Can I just download the manual?

Why not format it using the VanTrue itself?
