Thank you for the review, definitely helped me decide what cam to go with and to update the firmware to avoid any issues right from the start. Ride safe!
Carl you are doing full blown god's work here, every question was (almost) answered, Ive never seen such a precised review of a item like this. Hats off , cheers ! To help you out , have my sub.
As always an excellent video on these products, I’ve gone a different way I use their H5 helmet cam as I’ve got three bikes and it was just too expensive for 3 units works a treat
Great video, Carl. I'm glad you took a look at this camera system. Hopefully, you'll never need to use the recordings for anything more important than reviewing your ride.
i had a K5 on my 1250 GS and very good it was ..the only downside is the file size , using the app to download footage takes an age, so it was always easier and faster to take the card out and do the transfer on a lap top..ive recently bought a 1300 GS and i am fitting the K7 to it as its more compact and files will be smaller so hopefully quicker .
Hi Gerry, yes the new 5.8GHz WiFi plus the reduced files size will help speed up transfers, although removing the micro SD card is still quicker 👍 Regards Carl
Hi. I have one question please; Do camera creates any unreadable video files? I have one low price dash cam which randomly creating unreadable files and also for other price ranges i can find customer reviews with mentioned problems.
Hi, they all seem to vary in video quality, the more you pay the better the quality. The K5 probably has the best front video camera of all of them. It just depends on what you want from your system.
@@justthewayitisThank you for your reply. At this moment, I’m not looking for a video quality comparison. I’ve encountered unreadable files on sd card (where you double-click and get a black screen with an “unreadable” or “corrupted” notice). As i can see on web its not only me and there is quite a few products/customers with the same remarks. Bcz of I’m seeking firsthand feedback regarding reliable recording - creating readable (viewable) files. For me, the most important aspect of a dashcam is that it creates files reliably, quality being secondary importance.
Ok, so I can only speak of my experience with the Innovv K7 system I have installed. It works reliably and I’ve had no corrupted files or blank files. SD card quality is of course important as is having one of the correct specifications in terms of speed. Not sure I can help you more. I’m very happy with the system I have installed. Also, I prefer to remove the SD card and transfer files manually to my computer. Carl
Your videos are more interesting than any of the paid streaming channels like Netflix and Prime! I was considering the K5 for a while but the K7 seems to be the better option. An installation video of the K7 on the new 1300GS would be much appreciated (if you don't have a 1300 available for this, you can use mine😅).
Can you confirm which wire off the DIN socket you connected the yellow wire to? You said the brown/black wire on your diagram, but it looks like the posi tap is actually on another wire (possibly red). Might just be the angle but appreciate any more info you have. Great video thanks!
Hi Slip, lol I use a toilet brush 🧹 for the area on the rims where spokes attach, and a special spoke brush on the spokes them selves. Amazon sell them for about 7€ But it’s always a pain when I clean the wheels Carl 😉
Trying to figure out if the DVR will go under my seat, at 17:12 it says the DVR is 12mm thick, but the Innovv site suggests it's 81x56x25mm wondering which is correct?
I didn’t measure mine so if the Innovv site says it’s 25mm I would go with that. I mounted mine down the side next to the DIN plug. There is not a lot of space under the rider seat but more room under the rear seat.
Just measured mine for you as I haven’t fitted it yet .It’s 80mm by 60 mm by at most 17mm thick .I was wondering where to fit mine .I lifted the rear seat and it will just fit in a gap towards the rear light (not with Velcro though as you would never get it out) .I haven’t decided yet where it will go .Hope this helps
Hi Carl, I´ve found that the advantage of Innovv systems is the camera clamp set up for the cameras is versatile. On the downside they always supply too long cables! Are dash cams much used in Germany? They have strict data privacy rules I understand. All the best from showery South Hessen, Nick
I'm not sure what the current situation is but in the past an action cam was strictly forbidden in Germany. You are/were not allowed to make videos in public places (e.g. roads..). It could result in hefty fines! For dash cams that do not make structural footage things might be a bit different nowadays. As long as you keep in mind that the footage might not be accepted as evidence in a court and privacy rules are very, very strict. I quickly checked and information from November 2023 indicated it is still prohibited to use action/dashcams. Maybe ask the Police in Germany?
Hi, I currently have the K2 fitted to my 1250 GSA. Can I leave the cameras/cabling in place when installing the K7 to save me from having to remove all the panels etc.? TIA.
Hi Udo, as we only need a trigger feed you could use one of the indicators and find the tail light feed wire. Or still use the din plug but just take a trigger from it at the back and then reconnect it back to the side panel which is probably the easiest thing to do so you can continue to use it for winter charging. All you need to find is a live wire that comes on with the ignition. Greetings from Hessen 👍 Carl

Is there a way to install it without removing the DIN socket and cutting plastic ? I am not very good with my hands LOL R1250 GSA 2021 tks for the video !! So if I get this right, to get the video recording to our PC, we have to get the SD Card out every time ? it can't be uploaded to our phone ( some WiFi stuff between the k7 and phone)
Hi , no cutting of plastic was needed, I just removed the DIN socket. I have several other systems mounted on my R1250GS 2021 bike so finding space under the rear seat was difficult for me. But on a standard GS/A you will have plenty of room. Yes you can transfer the files from the DVR directly to your phone via the InnovvAPP using WiFi ( 2.4 or 5.8GHz ) I hope that answers your questions 🙋🏻♂️, I’m currently at the ABR show in Warwickshire and very busy with customers and subscribers, but If you need more help just send me a message 👍 Best wishes Carl

So it is not the solid Brown wire. I used the wire with the Black line running through it which looks to me like a Brown wire with a black line.
