But guess what…2 years ago (on June 3rd, 2021…3 days after my 60th birthday) I started eating a whole food, plant based diet and cut out all the foods you talked about in this video! The hot flashes stopped! I never really made the connection until today!
This was one of the best explanations about meat vs. perimenopause/menopause that I've ever heard. I'm 38 and have been experiencing symptoms since I was 32. My mom went through the process early as well. I've read a lot about the topic! When I eat meat, my symptoms escalate to an unbearable point. Since I've learned to go plant-based (for health and for the environment), my hot flashes have disappeared, I don't have crippling fatigue, I sleep through the night, and yes, the chin cystic acne goes away. The abuse to the cows and their calfs is enough that I haven’t had dairy in four years…… I so wish I had become vegan decades ago….. and when I did give it up in the middle of menopause, the hot flashes were gone in days. Thank you so much for all your valuable information!
I’ve been trying to go mostly vegan and when I eat a plant based diet I feel great. Whenever I fall off the wagon and eat dairy I feel like crap and I am now experiencing mood swings and other symptoms. Hard to say if it’s entirely the food, but I can’t deny that I feel better when I avoid dairy and meat. Your videos are always helpful!
I jist started plant base whole food vegan diet this week. Im 37 but hit early menopause since I had a complete hysterectomy, gai ed 30 pounds in 1 year and is not going anywhere, to top it off I have high cholesterol for the first time ever. You mentioned other foods (I.e. oil) that cause estrogen spikes and are undesirable. Why are the soy beans good but the oil is bad, in terms of the estrogen (not the obvious fat/calories)?

Great series. I never had hot flashes, am 63, didn’t go plant based until 4 years ago, only milk I ever had was maybe a teaspoon in my morning coffee and on the odd pizza I may have had. Never a cheese, ice cream person, personally cannot understand how there are people addicted to cheese. Really enjoyed the mommy seres.. can relate

Where’s the focus on insulin resistance, sugar’s role in weight gain, and hormone balance?. Body composition matters-160 pounds of muscle is far different from 160 pounds of fat. Healthy fats stabilise insulin, control hunger, and support overall health, while low-fat, high-sugar diets only worsen the problem. "Good fats" like those in avocados, olive oil, and fatty fish can improve cholesterol levels by raising HDL (good cholesterol) and reducing triglycerides. The outdated advice to cut fat misses the mark when it comes to women’s health in menopause.
How the heck can I even cook without any oil? I use the tiniest bit so I am NOT eliminating that little bit. I’m not one of those PERFECT people. This leaves me with nothing to eat since I detest legumes and lentils and quinoa and all that stuff. Literally makes me want to vomit on my plate
Tell me about it!! Born and raised in Wisconsin and now live in Texas. No meat or dairy..NO WAY!! What's left to eat? Might as well chew on my lawn!! I exercise daily, drink plenty of water and practice portion control. I stay away from junk food and cook at home.

I agree on some of your ideas here, just not the intended final outcome. But I ask again, have you personally experienced menopause or hormone induced weight gain? Or any personal experience with sudden weight gain regardless of diet and exercise?

Vegetables have calcium. I’m vegan and I haven’t drank dairy in 6 years. And it’s a myth that kids need calcium, look up vegan kids on UA-cam
