Brilliant solution! Thank you for sharing this method.
Thank you kind sir...i shall try this on my grubby looking wheelarches of my old civic after I remove the black cherry blossom shoe polish wax which the previous owner caked up with...also saves me getting the over-priced gtechniq product.
Make sure that you really scrub that old product off so that the oil can penetrate the surface, and i am certain that it will work for you. I did a short of this process on a v70 that was coated in something just like that - it worked out just fine! Thanks for watching!
I just tried it. Only thing I would add is that a little goes a long way. I was amazed how little of the mix covered so much surface area. I can't thank you enough, Tim, for your videos on this.
You are very welcome - really glad it was useful, and thanks for watching!
What? No blowtorch?
Nope - fun fact though: heating the plastic summons a fresh layer of oil back to the surface layer, so does effectively the same thing!
@@bigtalltim But doesn't using high heat eventually make the plastic more brittle over time?
Not really as long as you don’t blast it too hard… It is easy to overdo it though, which is one of the main reasons that I prefer this approach
Hello sir, thank you very much for this informative video much appreciated. I just bought old r15 v3 and abs plastic part looks good as long as it is wet as soon as they dries it looks faded can i use same method given in video . Just want to confirm twice. Thank you again
Hi Milan - glad it helped! It should work, but always test in an area that can’t be seen first… I usually do the inside of the bumper as that will never be seen if it does not work.
@@bigtalltim will do. thank you
