The way your driving so fast beside that apartment scares me!what if a random kid comes out and 💥 boom 🤯
You can never have autopilot in Kenya, you are cruising on a road and some random piki piki guy cuts ahead and blocks you, that car will stop instantly on the road 😂
Hope we get motorways/ tollways someday soon
Truth
...it will stop instantly on the road and you will die
I thought I was the one too curious about this car lol
😂😂, it's just funny how he says " if you press at the accelerator, you'll be shocked" referring to an electric car
But its still an accelerator which comes from the word accelerate. Increase speed
It doesn’t matter we still understand
Remember its the colonial master language which was forced upon us so give credit and stop picking on little stuff like that
😂😂😂
people didn't get it was pun intended
😂😂😂
The sales price is very high but not for much longer.
Then there is the fuel savings. Over a cycle of 100k kms you can save 500k to 800k bob if you just drive in urban areas. Petrol cars consume much more in stop and go traffic jams. EVs consume more power the faster you go. So at an average speed in the city of 40-50 km/h the EV is the clear winner long term.
I don't remember the exact price for stima in Kenya but I assumed 15 bob per kwh. 1 kwh equals about 5-6 kms in an EV. So 100 kms cost about 300 bob, as opposed to 700+ in a petrol car.
You also get some power back through regenerative braking and downhill coasting.
I would appreciate if someone could tell me if and where there are fast EV charging stations in the greater Nairobi area, Kiambu county for instance.
Asante sana
Finally we have Tesla motors in Africa.. thank you buyer you have probably pave the way for other to have such wonderful car
The roads are gonna be a problem ,unless u live in Nairobi the other places are not visible unless it’s a public place ,plus supercharging network is gonna be hectic
@@Rewelsworld 400 km? do you travel 400 km on a regular day, wacha izo bro. if im rich id def get it as a second car for day to day activities
Pretty sure there already were a few around by the same folks who buy Lambos here for fun, just super low key.
😂 kumbe watu tunafuatilia hii gari Kama shareholders tuko wengi
🤣🤣🤣🤣just thinking out positively
Amazing car, I'll get one too, soon!
In ur dreams...ur poor ..more than poor
@@neypalanjo3688 don't let everything you read online mess you up
😅 Can I get a test drive . Once you purchase it 😎 ? Asking for a friend 🤭
I'll get one
Nice one 👍 sir . Thanks for paving the way for us .Hata Mimi na wakenya wengine will follow suite. Tesla electric is the way to go.
Haitumii disk, diff au propelers?
Okay the car is ksh22million, how much do you need to replace the batteries and after how long?
Where can it be repaired in Kenya?
What kind of duty & taxes were applied during purchase.
Tesla isn't in KRA CRSP list & has no cc value on duty calculator. Very curious..
There is a formula used (they use FOB) which is quite expensive you can Google and you will get the formula.
Owner says tax was 7 million I think.
while i have a budget of two thousand clearly calculated, huyu tesla kid 'anathink' seven million 😌😥😪 haoni kama ni kitu😪
@@RadBunny2269 iyo 7m ningekua nimebuy V8 😳😳
Came here from your Instagram account, great content 👏🏾🔥 ***You should do a spotter series on here too 😂😂
Alafu usahau charger nyumbani ukienda ushago😂
Eiiii ok...
We celebrate you sir
The cost is sh 4.8m duty cannot be sh15m.
But it is a good computer on wheels.
Kimani atafungia alternator hapa mbele ikue inautochange
I like the acceleration time.....plus the butterfly door are dope
They are called Falcon Wing doors
The car is beautiful
Good work bros
Dream car🔥
Well ikiharibika good luck
nice!!
I don’t think there’s any variant of the model X that outputs 500 or less hp.
The 75D has 518hp not 333hp
The servicing may not be as much as a petrol vehicle, but hapo kwa like a phone it's a bit much. With time the wheels and suspension will need some work, especially ukipitisha hivyo kwa puddles
I have driven one of those but in kenya it has a lot of Donts more so repairs and mechanics
the government wont recommended these types of vehicles in for a long time, the tax will be high. how do expect them to manage the economy with out fuel tax?
good question
the problem is how are they using the tax they are getting now, this shitty Gvt... people are going to buy the cars and they wont stop them.. we already have EV taxis in Kenya(Nopea) so it's that serious.
I agree, plus we bet petroleum discovery to pay back loans.
Tax KPLC and KENGEN for the "energy tax" why not?
Yeah, instead of giving tax relief for those who leave very little carbon footprint , They will tax double . Siku hizi hata kuweka solar power , Kenya power inataka uwalipe .
Why that screen is blinking??
I like to see this
Wow👀😮
when it runs through mud of water does it affect the battery??
Think of it like a water resistant phone
But am worried of the doors opening upwards. Can it knock cars parked next to it
they have inbuilt censors, they can never hit any thing
Nope. They are built to not hit a car parked next to you. Check the demos on release for this.
Service, warranty, software update 🤷♂️
Problem with electrics, if you have a heavy foot on the pedal, that battery will die faster than you know.
Well advertised, now we'll buy tesla wala..
Kia Niro is also a good budget EV
yes 😁
i know he misses going to fuel stations
i said it
But he will heavily pay for electricity bill
@@alphyzqrw7222 i said it
@@alphyzqrw7222 1000 bob per full charge is extremely cheap :)

Ps: Carry a Big Power Bank & Sahau Kubeba Kibuyu ya petroli
How do you charge coz am not sure they're tesla roadside chargers in any African country
2 rivers and some other place in the city
2 rivers, trm, garden city, sarit basement, basically anywhere there are nopia rides cars you can charge
There is another video African traveller I think, you can buy the fast charger for 75k and a normal charger cheaper that you can plug to normal socket. I think the perception also is this is like ordinary car which you need the petrol stations but the infrastructure is already there for electric vehicles (like any electronic) as soon as they start arriving the most common buainess we will see charging stations installed in parking areas very easily.or at home.
Home charging will be the way for now via standard wall outlet
How do you charge your phone?
That car has funny tricks but how durable is it especially if it goes off road
Get a 110 Defender if you’re going off-road.
What about getting spare parts when it needs repairs?
Tell a spare part you may need. At least 2.
Now that’s the real issue. Just like Lamborghinis etc we have here, you import the part & most likely the service person as well. Good thing is there are very few mechanical parts on this thing so that’ll not be as frequent. But, it’ll hit your wallet deeply when you have to. Suspension must be the bigger issue or if you have a problem w/ the battery pack 😳.
Sasa hio pesa yote tunatoa wapi? Cool car, nimeanza saving up for one. For over 20M it better come with half an acre muthaiga na sq.,lol.
How do you charge and where?

From IG!!🔥🔥🔥
you know it 😁
Looks like it's gonna fly soon...
Viraj School in Syokimau 😎
Down the line battery replacement will be expensive,as well as problems that occur it’s will surely be expensive.
what about a dodge charger srt scat edition
You are taking us back to where we are running from!

driving a tesla that fast on a road with puddles?
HOLLY SHMOLLLY the car is fast 👍👍😁
the car is actually quite slow. It's fast compared to a prius, yes. That Subaru would probably do laps arround this car easily. the P100D model is the fast one.
Sasa hii ikiishia charge kwa kichaka hakuna kutafta kakibuyu ukimbilie mafuta🤔🤔🤔
Power bank
😂😂😂
OMG i just saw this car in Nairobi shit is fast i could even take a picture 😒
70 thousand dollars in taxes wtf
12V battery must be replaced soon: software update will not complete until serviced
Kenyatta family hawana hii baada ya kutuibia for 60 year since independence.....
prezo atengeneze mabarabara ndio tuwe na ma supercars
Driving it on water is probably not a good idea
i see raven in the background ere
Do people charge this car for free?
Just have to pay the electrical bill. Average cost for "full tank" which is an approximate 350Km range costs around 1000Ksh
This is the futre bruh its because there are no teslas in kenya its just he model x see the roadster and its fast as heck
The mechanics complained when automatic cars where introduced in the country due to limited job opportunity they created.....now we are here no service no maintenance start updating yourselves cos the only service required regularly to this electric American Machine is just washing it....😂😂😂😂
Sjui imekua fashion kwa wakenya. Imekua kero sasa kila mtu Tesla ebu acheni basi utopolo wa kuwapandisha saaana hadhi wamarekani wauwaji.
😂😂victim mentality
I wonder which insurance company would be willing to register this car for their policy?😂😂😂😂
Who owns that thing
A muhindi guy
The owner of Viraj International School...
hii mkileta you will be charged kama fuel hii kenya 😂
Alafu mbona inaniangalia nikama inaona mtu🤣🤣🤣
Do you really know how hard it is to replace parts of Tesla !!?? You would be taking care of that machine!...

Ni zake pia hizo
ngoja ineed repairs upelekee kinuthia pale grogon. muffler iibiwe
Wow! Muffler on an electric car.
Ushai skia wapi exhauster/muffler kwa electric car?
Ushamba nayo😂
😂😂😂😂
Now we need public charging infrastructure so that we participate in the future, I know petrol heads are rolling in their graves, Somebody post this on Musk's twitter page, who knows he might just allow regular OTA for this daredevil
Its faster than a gtr
Hope you all know that in the next 10 years GM will not be making any more petroleum cars, that means all electronic so this will be unavery day car .
N when it breaks you have to being it to America
China actually. Tesla's most efficient service support is based around their China factory
@@denniskithuka or you can just import the parts
This car is everything but unholy it's devilish.....
Kenyan govt will not allow these cars. How can they run the economy without taxing the fuel you consume. This car you just plug it in your house and you are done. Its a good car though....very nice.
Recommend it and cash in on electricity industry😂
This electric cars might not work in our infrastructure,
😂😂😂 tesla in africa
Jeremy Clerkson calls it a stupid car
Why all that tax on a vehicle that is saving the environment, people's heath to mention but a few; please African leaders reason??!
that tesla is waay to loud to be a tesla
I can believe that, how people talking about that car in Kenya, this Tesla electric car is not even popler, not even among 20 best and expensive cars,is below 80000 dollars, my question is there a place to repair or service they can take the car in Kenya if something happens?
What repairs are we talking about?
@@Be.Bulinda , because there is no engine in the car, you think nothing can happen for this car, I'm from Australia we got many of this type of the cars they have a lot of problems, and the only blace to fix it is Tesla's work shop.do you have that in Kenya?
I understand. I need to be educated. That's all. Like in an ICE car, there may be an issue with the fuel pump.
What about in an EV? What exactly could go wrong? That's what I need to be educated about. Pointing it out.
@@Be.Bulinda Suspension parts do break, the breaks pads do wear out, a rock might crack the windscreen, flooding might render the battery useless, e.t.c.
@@abungadennis1171 thank. Now your comment makes sense. But am sure this parts are all replaceable. Also, probability of that happening should also be a guide. Not a blanket quest to scare prospective buyers.
