    Great video. Thanks!
    I’m here as I have the mark2 mazda3, (R2AA 2.2D). This had injector seals leak at 120k (miles), thus oil strainer blocked.
    I’ve cleaned out the valve cover fairly well. There is no oil feed pipe I can see, so is there somewhere else I should clean?
    Hopefully putting it back together this weekend. I’ve got Bosch replacement injector washers. These are copper still, but i think are modified by having extra tabs in the central hole.
    Is there a modified torque setting for my model? If so, please can you let me know what it is.
    Instead, if I followed the modified torque for the skyactive, which nut gets the 270’: the left one that was backed off 90’, or the right one? Thanks.

    Thanks for the great videos, helped us a lot in repairing our Mazda cx5 2.2 skyactive. We had problems with the oil pressure and in the end had to replace half the engine. From camshaft, hydro tappet, turbocharger, injectors, cylinder head and small parts. We cleaned the arg valves and the throttle body. However, the car does not run at 100%. After reassembly the engine runs smoothly at idle and when the engine is still cold the engine runs great and accelerates, just great. As soon as the engine warms up, the engine starts to jerk and no longer accelerates. We are at a loss as to what it could be. Do you have any ideas?

    • @JB_Auto
      @JB_Auto  Рік тому

      Thanks, It looks like you replaced a lot and some of which could cause jerking, I assume that there are no fault codes, I would check the MAF sensor, if that's good then look at all temperature-related live data, and also check the fuel pressure, temperature live data. Sometimes there are no DTCs stored, then what's left it is searching by using live data, this issue is not known to me yet.

    Thanks for the great video. I'm thinking of buying a Spares/Repair CX5 and putting my 2.2 Engine into it from my Mazda 6 skyactiv.
    I'm wondering if the AWD or 4WD model engine will be compatible with a 2WD manual engine of the same car?
    I'm only wondering if you have any ideas - When I drive my mazda 6, I was getting oil leaking into my coolant. I replaced my turbo cores which seemed to stop the oil leak issue, but now my coolant flows into overflow tank, but it doesn't backsuck the coolant into the engine when the car cools down --> the car remains air-locked. It means I have to de-pressurise the radiator cap and then drain the coolant back into the engine manually (with the car off)
    Do you have any ideas on how to fix or what might be the issue?

    • @JB_Auto
      @JB_Auto  Рік тому

      Thanks. It might be the head engine gasket that creates pressure, you probably can see bubbles in the expansion tank as well. Those engines are compatible.

    • @poteitos5125
      @poteitos5125 Рік тому

      @@JB_Auto I'm thinking head gasket failure causing coolant system to over-pressurise. So the Radiator cap just breaks from being over-pressurised, and doesn't naturally bleed itself. Therefore coolant system remains air-locked. Weirdly I'm not getting any carbon or oil in my cooling system anymore, but seems as if the combustion chamber is at much higher pressure than the cooling system, then I'm not getting any coolant inside the chambers/fuel/exhaust areas.

      Most likely everything that was supposed to be replaced is done, hence 200K mileage and still running, replace the oil every 10K and injector gaskets to prevent carbon from getting into the oil strainer. Higher RPM when started is for faster warm-up although it is not always present. Generally, as long as the engine runs well do not think about what should be replaced.

      Hi, thanks for the comment. You posted your question under the video of the oil pressure issue, so you probably worry about that. 100K mileage with no issues means your engine is most likely after some modifications, however, I would replace injector gaskets as in the video. 2013 model year that is when all the big modifications started and that is regarding mechanical components such as reinforced camshaft and rocker arms and that is for European Countries, beginning of modifications for Mazda CX5 September 17 2013. What defines a good model is how you service your vehicle. Watch my video about how to check oil pressure, it explains how often should you replace engine oil and why.

      Hi, in this video I'm talking about preventing oil pressure issues, so prevention is a replacement, of injector gaskets at 120K, rather than waiting for fault. If mileage is higher than that check vehicle history. While purchasing the car, check if all the services have been performed at the authorised Mazda repairer with proper intervals. You shouldn't have any problems with vehicles well maintained.

    Hi, I have a low oil pressure issue with my Mazda 6 at 106,000 miles. I have been recommended by the dealership to to 'do a full ''Carbon clean at a cost of £2000 but this does not include the cost of the Injector seals replacement and the Sump removal this would be an extra cost of around £450.''. Are we going down the right route here?
    My breakdown and a previous mechanic on full service identified error code P055F Engine Oil Pressure, Outside specified range. The dealer reckons he knows 100% there is no electrical issue on the vehicle, and I believe he has not physically gained access to apply an oil pressure gauge, to physically test the oil pressure sensor (how does this need to be done?) and declines on providing me a full diagnostic report (he reckons the previous mechanic has cleared any errors when we full know it was not).
    The day after a full service the error codes appeared as P06DE (Engine Oil Pressure Control Circuit Stock on), and
    DTC055F-00 (Engine Oil pressure out of range)
    Can anyone help, please.

      Hi, thanks for the comment. There are no issues with this model year, mechanically engines are heavily modified. You may encounter injector gas leak but that you can prevent as you watched in my video, another issue is carbon build up on inlet manifold and which occurs on engines where you drive mostly short distances. My recommendation is to replace oil regularly, and replacement of injector gaskets at 120k km mileage. I'm preparing a short video about oil replacement, and it is related to older engines but it will be worth seeing, so stay tuned, the video coming within a month.

      I'm from Europe, I can not tell you which fuel should you use, I've heard that issue with carbon deposits doesn't exist in some countries, due to the better quality of fuel, but that is not officially confirmed. The only fuel additive we use is for fuel system cleaning, and that does not necessarily prevent carbon deposits in the inlet manifold. I would enquire, Mazda dealership what is recommended on the US market. This issue may not exist in the US because of different software and different emission system, and that is due to different emission regulations in the country. As you know all the problems with diesel come down to emission system and it is not only related to Mazda...

      Based on that what you wrote he had an oil pressure problem before, and it could be fixed too late that is why that DTC P06DE. First of all, we never replaced turbo on the 2016 model year, neither oil pump chain if the vehicle was properly maintained. I would check everything from the beginning, if replaced conrod bearings, what was the crankshaft condition, what about main bearings? then how about camshaft journal caps? HLA shouldn't have much influence this is one of the last elements receiving oil then it goes to rocker arms and returns to the oil sump. So I would concentrate on mechanical issues, rather than electrical. P0101 I would check for soot in the inlet manifold.

    Is there any way to prevent this other than all this work?
    Does the Ford Mondeo 2.2D suffer this?
    Ford was associated with Mazda at one time?
    Good video a walk through repair but who would buy Mazda now?

      Yes, if you replace injector gaskets as I suggested in the video, then you will not experience any of that.
      This engine is not related to Ford. It is Mazda's design.

      Agree, this is why I posted the video, so prevention, if people are aware, then it is not gonna happen.
