    Great review, glad to see Suzuki are pushing the boat out a bit with their bikes. Nothing will part me with my vstrom 650 though 👍🏼

    Looks much better in the green or blue. Nice bike and the electrics wont be a problem its a Suzuki not a BMW. Electric suspension gives a much better ride and thankfully it doesnt have points ignition.😅

    Hi Dickie. Great review. Getting better all the time mate. I really like this Suzuki and the tech that comes with it. I think once you’ve learned how to set up the bike in the first place, it will then become second nature. Setting up for luggage, pillion or both means you can adapt the bike easily or just use Auto. Remember when we would have to manually set up the suspension for a pillion, which would take ages and then we never bothered really. Agree that the screen should be powered and adaptive cruise control should be added. It’s a great bike and I’m going to take one for a demo ride.

    • @DickieMintCycles
      @DickieMintCycles  7 місяців тому

      Thanks Dave.. Like I said,you can’t really set a bike with so many variables regarding the tech to suit your own riding requirements on a 2-3 hour test… You kind of just touch the surface of it all… 👍

    Great bike i wouldn't buy one myself but it dose look like a comfortable all day ride, and a bit safer than my old speedy.

    The dealer should reset the bikes setup after every demo ride. The suspension on your B Rider mode was at the default damping setting for C mode. This is becoming increasingly common on demo bikes.

      @DickieMintCycles  7 місяців тому

      Hi Terrence.. Given more time I’d of got my head around the settings ..If you owned it you’d have that thing set up perfectly.. It’s a lovely bike to ride with an amazing engine as you probably know..As you can tell. I’m an older rider and not really used to riding with all the tech 😄..Thanks for watching and your input 👍ATB

    Nice bike Dickie but too complex, too much to go wrong in my opinion :) The rider aids may well keep the rider safer but they won't learn to feel the bike maybe? Still a lovely machine:)

    • @DickieMintCycles
      @DickieMintCycles  7 місяців тому

      Tend to agree with you Sandy… You need to be able to ride a bike in it’s raw state…That’s how you learn.. Think the tech is now getting too intrusive.. But on the flip side if it did by chance save your arse only once I guess it’s worth it.. Topic for debate ..

    Isn’t it just a bit too much though, Dickie? Those of us in our 60’s survived higher capacity, angry, non-ABS bikes and probably learned a lot from it. I was going to buy a GS, but then found the “get on ‘n ride” T700, which was excellent. I have got a Triumph Tiger Rallye now but went for the basic model as I’d have no idea what to do with rider custom modes, etc. That why I like the simplicity of my trusty Himmy, as well.

      Personally I’d feel that radar slowing your bike down is going a tad too far…Traction control / lean angle control is good on hyper bikes as is wheelie control .. They’re so damn quick!…Plus hopefully you’d have the option to switch it all off.. 👍ATB

    • @DickieMintCycles
      @DickieMintCycles  5 місяців тому

      Yes.. I’ve never been a multi cylinder fan and have always ridden Vtwins / parallel twins.. The GSXS 1000 did seem a little flat in the lower rev range… That’s talking from a twin point of view..Plus I didn’t really ride it that far if lm totally honest… My KTM 129O would of had it for breakfast…Spent the afternoon on the GSXS GX and I was converted..The engine was lovely plus had torque..Think I had to acclimatise myself to 4 cylinder land..Put that bike in sport and it was amazing..Could the GT and the GX be mapped slightly differently from the naked bike? Thanks for taking the time to watch 👍ATB

      It’s all going down the same rout nowadays Design wise… Cars are the same.. Small H/Lights are getting popular now as well.. I find my DE800 lights at night are very susceptible to suspension movement and can vibrate on rough roads causing the beam to move as if you were flashing someone out of a junction…Happened to me..

    Well Young Laird Dickie of Wessex .. can't recall your Land in Scotland..
    Of all the Tech and Wizardry could you flat foot...! another, if were closer to you, you'd no doubt been able to set my Himalaya's clock....
    Brave Man out on that day with those tyres, not a lot of tread.. and just why not a power screen..!
    You'd almost got pinched on another Roundabout.. just what is there not to understand of the word..! ROUND-a-bout.. ..
    Suzuki has done what Japan was renown for, throwing almost everything on a Bike.. Killed the British Market late 60's allover come the 70's.. not a lot happening with resurrection BSA.. one horse as the demise the first time.
    Price wise this Bike, for the money I'd go Shotgun 650, the change a bigger garage to stable with Himalaya.
    Hoping Mom's recovering, stay safe yourself. Cheers.
