The saddest part of this song is that Bowie had that same feeling for over a decade. Through all he went through. Struggles of sobriety, becoming a father, all of it. He wrote this almost a decade out, and rewrote it because he was still tired of the world's shit, as Scary Monsters seems to mean. God bless him.
This, and the entire Scary Monsters album are a collection of an artist cleaning up, being anxious, and unsure of his surroundings. Then Scary Monsters is just him being fed up with everything, especially the press.
I didn't know him, but I don't think he was ever that morose in his life. I don't feel sorry for him for anything. He had the most fulfilling and incredible life one could have. And I think he knew that and was grateful for all of it.
@@melizmatea Oh he for sure was, there's a very sad story from 77 during his time cleaning himself up in Berlin. He rammed a car againts a wall while Iggy Pop was in the other seat, then proceeded to drive at high speed in an underground parking lot screaming that he wanted to end it all. He was down awfully, probably suffered from a big depression period.
"Tired Of My Life" is a song written by David Bowie that is a well-known outtake from 1970. The chorus was used in "It's No Game" released on "Scary Monsters (and Super Freaks)" in 1980. It was first released on a really cool bootleg vinyl LP, that was pressed on black vinyl, and 50 were pressed on yellow vinyl, that was called "Lost In Our Vaults Until Now" released in 1982. This LP also contains "A Lad In Vain" which is a great blueprint for "Aladdin Sane" and "Sweet Thing".
when I became sober after months of drug and alcohol abuse, listening to Bowie was my only outlet for my boredom and depression. It's No Game I would play over and over, Bowie helped me get through all the baggage. His death is just earth scrattering
+Karen bredlau kinda going through that atm as well. been listening to its no game allot recently. last week was a pt 1 kinda week then me and my psychotic girlfriend broke up and now im having a pt 2 kinda week. the whole scary monsters album resonates strongly with me (and everyone ever i assume)
+Karen bredlau dont worry you'l dy also... but the planet is glowing-ing ! its no game one of my favorite, and happier can be : coming back from Mars now hitting an all-time low
This is wonderful...I love It's No Game I and II played back to back, the first angry, fierce, determined, and then the second, tired, depressed. This is beautiful, what a treasure to find. Thanks for posting
The reason i feel in love with Bowie and his music back in 69 was because of how he shared his feelings and how life is for him. Those songs like Tired of my Life really touch my soul and brings a sadness that the world has lost this brilliant man.
Lost for words!..I loved it's no game from my first listen when Scary Monsters was released..but this is brilliant!.. Can you believe it was conceived 10years before it made its way to general release!..The broader picture!..
Who would have thought from this kind of beautiful song that it would be transmuted into a disgusting perverted masterpiece with Robert Fripp playing a demonic guitar turned up to 11? Rock n Roll yeahhh.......
My God. At 16 I was still obsessed with riding my sports moped & wanting the latest platform shoes from Clarks. What did David do to get so good, so early? Yes we know he's an alien.
The stuff this guy had in his 'keep for later' cupboard outdoes what many an artist would have in their 'A1' outtray. It all needs to be brought together by some genius (Mr Visconti) and released.
I think if there is a message or a lesson to learn it comes from His canon of songs and His life in total. One may be manic, sad and depressed by one's self and the world and live on still, until life is ripped from our clutches. We can be heroes, and for more than just one day.
qué hermosa canción. nunca había sabido que it's no game tuviera este antecedente. un sonido naïf, folk, reinventado años después. gracias por este aporte.
i had that CD too..still do.,.but it won't play anymore or i would share it with ya...can't bring myself to throw it away, coated it in plastic & it's now my fave coaster at the desk
this is fucking amazing! I always thought the put a bullet in my brain line was a reference to lennon's death but from reading comments I see the songs much older, man this version is stunning. one of his best songs,

That’s depressing

+Karen bredlau I'm still in denial.

For us all Karen. But life goes on, and we must incorporate his creative energy into what we do in our lives to maximise the effect of his gift to us
David was and is a true original artist, writer, singer and human being. RIP friend.
Written all the way back in '63 when he was 16, wow
Holy crap more people need to know about this. This song speaks to me so strongly.
Here here .
Indeed.
This is wonderful...I love It's No Game I and II played back to back, the first angry, fierce, determined, and then the second, tired, depressed. This is beautiful, what a treasure to find. Thanks for posting
Aye!
This needs to be released, in a demo/alternate take collection. So beautiful
Crazy that this existed around 1970! I like it a lot!
You know he said he actually made it when he was 16?! Only that he tried to demo it in the 70s
The reason i feel in love with Bowie and his music back in 69 was because of how he shared his feelings and how life is for him. Those songs like Tired of my Life really touch my soul and brings a sadness that the world has lost this brilliant man.
Fascinating. You can see into his mind and you can feel it evolving, through time, in his head.
Lost for words!..I loved it's no game from my first listen when Scary Monsters was released..but this is brilliant!.. Can you believe it was conceived 10years before it made its way to general release!..The broader picture!..
This is the first time I've listened to this !
DAVID BOWIE...
Sweet dreams, or good morning
wow,great!!
never heard before,i like it
Madge Bienstock of
pabloberry paolo
It was David's 2nd anniversary of his passing and you're gone also... Love you both so much ❤
How much quantity of genius is in the mind of Mr. Bowie? God bless him.
A hidden gem
Love this version! It's No Game pt.2 is equally superb... so many gems lost early on...
Who would have thought from this kind of beautiful song that it would be transmuted into a disgusting perverted masterpiece with Robert Fripp playing a demonic guitar turned up to 11? Rock n Roll yeahhh.......
I've been a Bowie freak as long as I've been alive and you just blew my mind
My God. At 16 I was still obsessed with riding my sports moped & wanting the latest platform shoes from Clarks. What did David do to get so good, so early? Yes we know he's an alien.
Or Mozart re-incarnated...
Sounds a bit like Unwashed and Somewhat Slightly dazed too. Wild Eyed Boy From Free Cloud a bit? This is pretty cool. Thanks for uploading
❤💔 This is heart-shatteringly gorgeous

love this song, bowie is simply perfect.....
Very interesting! I hadn't heard this before now. It's terrific..
❤❤❤❤
i love how theres still so much i havent heard cause its like falling in love all over again...
crying
This is so beautiful, and "It's no game" is one of my favourites of Bowie
Love his creative process.

Oh my gosh. I almost cried. Those harmonies are absolutely gorgeous! All of it is! I can't believe this is my first time listening to this!
Wonderful voice,wonderful sound!
Omg this was beautiful, never heard it before - thanks so much for posting.
wonderful. I love the later versions and this is gold.
In away this is Its No Game:. Part III. Sad thinking but happy He lives my Bluetooth speaker November 13th 2019. Very much loving it!
This could easily be something from 'Hours'. Or from 'Space Oddity' for that matter. Beautiful.
I used to have this track on a bootleg CD called CHANGESBOWIETHREE. There were some CRAZY RARE things on it! I wish now I had kept it...
i had that CD too..still do.,.but it won't play anymore or i would share it with ya...can't bring myself to throw it away, coated it in plastic & it's now my fave coaster at the desk
This is great, another beautiful treasure I haven't heard before, thank you so much for posting. : )
Wow - It's No Game (pt 1) is one of my favorite Bowie songs. I had no idea this dated back to (the 60s!?) Cool. THanks for posting.
This is beautiful.
Also I never heard it befor. Thanks for it. Great!
Wow, awesome... I've never heard this version!
So so glad ive heard this what a gem from David Bowie ❤🎉
Oh my, just wonderful...
What a rare gem! Wow!
This needs to be released on vinyl/CD.
Another bowie Sunday night hour !
I wish this was on a record :(
A treasure from the vaults
So beautiful and yet so real
Wow! I had no idea. That's amazing. Thanks so much for the upload.
awesome song
Never heard that. Fabulous stuff. Read about it before but hadn't heard it. Bravo.
chorus harmony is weird and beautiful. strange sound.
I love pre Ziggy Bowie...
No conocía esta versión. Me impresionó.
Pains my heart to hear such pain and loneliness
Well. Now that's an interesting development!
This is great. Is it really a demo? Those harmonies sound like perfection and Bowie obviously put a lot of work into them.
Braviiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii David Bowie! ~
can really hear the no game lyric and melody, cool.bowie is god.xx
why we keep coming back to youtube. cheers
they should put out some tmwstw anniversary or deluxe edition or sum with all these demos on it bc a lot of them are amazing
Wot a legend 16 ,who do you write that at that age ⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡
God, i love this song , and the photo , he looks so young , so bby, i love him my eternal platonic love
nice one. Any idea what year this version's from? Sounds like it should've been on Space Oddity.
whoa, glad that he made this song sick...
Great
Amazing! It really sounds like "Quicksand" because of the 12 strings guitar, maybe.
Was it realesed in may 1970? Is it true?
wow.
@spurtfather
That wouldn't even be possible, since John Lennon died several months after the release of Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps).
No he didn't. He was alive when Scary Monsters was released.
according to teenagewildlife(dot)com, this is the first song ever written by david bowie
this is fucking amazing! I always thought the put a bullet in my brain line was a reference to lennon's death but from reading comments I see the songs much older, man this version is stunning. one of his best songs,
Oh wow, I MUST have this song. Where can I get the outtakes collection this is from?
please God... if you're out there, now would be a good moment to take me...
Best song ever written by a sixteen-year-old?
Sorry, forgot to add this:
1:28 - 1:35 sounds a lot like "Quicksand"
Was this ever released? I like it. Also, where can I find the original version of "Conversation Pieces"? I've never heard it.
thanks.nothing like No Game
Yes it is. He even used some of the lyrics.
Wow :)
he is such af brillant bastard
@FrokenKeke Well just shows how much I know!
💜🤘🏿
I was born in 1903 and I am a life
This sounds earlier than 1980
It is. Its from the late 60s, 70 possibly. He wrote it when he was 16.
it´s Deram sound
I really like this and "It's no game" (prefer part 2)
Like this track. Had it on bootleg for years.
Find the vocals on It''s No Game No1 quite irritating, much prefere version No2, great song!!
It's weird how this demo has a very brian wilson flavor whilst the album song verges on heavy metal.
Interesting early take...same strumming pattern as Space oddity.
Demo-ed in 1970, The Man Who Sold the World, I presume
Kinda prefer this to scary monsters but its a bit soporific.
How about Jim Carrey as Bowie in a Film about him
Two of my favourite guys... I'm sure he could do it. Because they could.
Yes. What!
No.
Brian Monahan - I don’t know if anyone could quite fit the bill 😞
How about The Rock as Bowie?
