Absolutely fantastic! Someone (besides Robert Fripp) finally figured out how to play the lead guitar on this fabulous, crunching, dissonant, disturbed, and brilliant song!
Fripp was really inspired when he wrote the guitar part, not just the solo, which is one of my favorite guitar solos of all time. I envy your skill. Just wonderful job you do.
Bizarre guitar part, and I liked both parts 1 & 2 very well. I think "Scary Monsters" is my favorite album from him. Congrats on a gr8 job on a really bizarre and obscure song. This song is especially relevant in this date and time, as it ever more closely resembles our present situation.
Sorry to have always imagined Fripp less relaxed when he played this even if he never loses his British phlegm. Still, it's amazing to see your fingers play this guitar piece! So it's my pleasure of the week! Thank you very much !
David Bowie is the greatest rock star ever and Robert Fripp is one of the greatest guitarists ever. They made magic when this song was recorded and you damn nailed it. Is it weird if I say I watched this 5-6 times and I still haven’t had enough? Did I mention that you nailed it? Okay, you absolutely nailed it.
At the end I immediately start hearing Up the Hill Backwards. My fav track on this sensational album is the title track song. This song is another ripper.
The whole album is outstanding. I love tracks 1 and 10. Hats off, this is a perfect cover of the Robert Fripp guitar on track 1, I've watched and listened to it loads and now subscribed on the strength of this alone. Like you, I immediately hear the next track 😂
This video. I've been listening to the Scary Monsters album for four decades without realizing how insane the guitar work actually was. By your doubling it here I finally heard/saw what was really going on. You unlocked Robert Fripp for me. You, sir, are amazing!
Man you make it look so easy and we all know it's not easy at all. Bravo! Fripp brought his best work to Bowie. The soaring solo is out of this world. Standard tuning? And congrats on Fripp's endorsement! Well earned!
Just brilliant! I love fripp's playing on the scary monsters album and on this track especially. that outro has become one of my favourites of all time.
Wow. Have bought that album on release. And listened to that cutting edge song repeatedly for years and years, its really great to see somebody actually play that guitar piece straight through. And masterfully. Fantastic.
You are just stunning. Really. I searched how to do that damn thing, as the rest of Scary Monsters other damn things, without reaching them even from far ! Your playing is just beautiful. I'm amazed. Really big thanks.
Thanks for watching, I'm using overdrive from my amp, chorus, short delay and eq. Kick in an extra distortion for the solo. (Hughes&Kettner Amp with Fractal FX8II)
I've got tab and conventional notation for standard tuning (AEDGBE). Email me at seismofish at gmail.com and I'll send you a PDF. Let me know if you want tab, tadpoles or both.

Bowie's melodic sense and Fripp's angular guitar style is a perfect match
I'm here because Fripp was sharing it ;)
If you do please link it
What a compliment to have Fripp post this himself.

I just love how you nail it, you are a master. Robert´s playing on Scary Monsters is his best work in my humble opinion.
King crimson.
I agree.
Totally agree ❤️

When you hear instruments solo it really show how talented and good writers they/ he are is.
Who comes up with fragmentet stuff like that. :)

One of my favorite songs and guitar parts... great job! This song was so ahead of its time that pop culture still hasn't caught up.
Absolutely brilliant m8 👍😱👍
One of the strangest Thing Bowie and Fripp ever created 😮
THIS GUITAR RIFF SHOULD BE TAUGHT IN UNIVERSITIES ALL OVER THE WORLD; AND YOU SHOULD BE THE TEACHER !
Such a pity, universities do not offer this kinda lesson

Génial ! My first album when I was 12. One of my favorite songs. Bravo 👏
Yep humble is the word for it. 'Nailed it' are two others. I can see how much you love playing this stuff. Bravo!
One of my favourite Bowie songs and Fripp solos. Makes me want to learn to play the electric guitar
Huge Fripp fan, really enjoyed that . Great work
Wow. Have bought that album on release. And listened to that cutting edge song repeatedly for years and years, its really great to see somebody actually play that guitar piece straight through. And masterfully. Fantastic.
Amazing! you've got it so close to dead on. It's almost impossible to hit those happy accident changes near the end. Loved this thanks.
Well done mate, thoroughly enjoyed that. Fripp is a legend.
Dayumn, brother. You nailed it, and it's no game.
Pretty darn good. Best attempt at Fripps iconic performance that I have seen yet. Add more sleaze. Don't be afraid.
Amazing.
Simply sensational man, 40th anniversary too... ★
Incredible guitar part - brilliantly played here!
Great work! The lick alone is more than worth the price of admission.
scary monsters might just have the crazier sounding guitar parts of all bowie's album.
Great job ! 👍👍👍👍
You play a great guitar!
Thank you so much. This is one of my favorite songs and hearing the guitar part more clearly highlights better how wonderfully different it is.
AWESOME!! Looks impossible to play or transcribe. Whats the guitar tuned to?

Where is this coming from? Genius.
Thanks so much
If you look closely you can see it's being played by the man in the video on the guitar, but it's probably coming from a speaker out of sight.
Wow 😮
