Carla does the role justice. Daniella looks a bit more like the original actress, but I think they made the right choice with those two. And I don’t think that the Piragüero CAN’T sing, I just think that he can’t hit those notes
YES piragua guy wasn’t bad, they just had a bass singing a tenors song. it sounded off because his voice is so low, it just doesn’t fit the role. however, this was a high school production (and most characters were POC) and all the other characters were casted well!
i get ITH should be all POC but this is a high school production. I still think they did a great job. Benny being white kinda made sense (even though he is sapposed to be black) since his character doesn’t speak spanish and isn’t latino. Other than that, all the main characters are POC.
i get what your saying about benny but, out of all the characters i think it makes the most sense for Benny to be white. he doesn’t know spanish and that’s why kevin doesn’t like him

You know that Benny doesn’t have to be black, right? The only part of Benny’s character that is important is that he isn’t Latino, which is why Mr. Rosario doesn’t want him with Nina
