@@jeffreybeisecker3021 The problem is the miking, not the performance. And I allow for these not being Broadway actors. Given that, clearly a great amateur performance. Also the orch is too loud for the singers.
This production reminded me of why I fell in love with theatre in the first place. I know that I could never work in that world, but the storytelling always takes me away to somewhere else. Thank you.
Let me just say. Keeping up with Sondheim's music is not easy. I had to do On the Steps of the Palace in voice class and it took a lot of work. Good on these guys. So much talent.
These kids are great! Fantastic vocals! If I had a critique it's that they haven't had the life experiences yet that would give their performances depth. To sing "Moments in the Woods", you need an adult sexuality to convey the Baker's Wife's bewilderment and then dawning realization of how a fleeting dalliance can make you see how important your marriage is. Somethings you can't know until you know.
Yesss! I think she just captures the energy of kindness and adorableness of the Broadway version, something I missed in the movie. I think she and Little Red riding Hood were the ones who best passes the essence of their respective characters in this cast.
I was watching throughout this whole thing really worried that they would completely flub Your Fault. But they absolutely KILLED that song. It is not easy to sing and annunciate that fast, but they managed to do it perfectly!
AND it sounds like they were singing to a prerecording, which is so much harder than a live orchestra - really great recoveries when they were off from the music, thoroughly impressed with the level of professionalism they exhibited
I am speechless this was extraordinary this was amazing these kids are going to make it far congrats to the cast keep going that's all I have to say keep going you'll make it far and stay humble most of all
Oh! I love this musical so mutch, I wish we could play it in my school, but in Brazil we don't really do this... If i'd study in a bigger school maybe...
Ava Claire I think the costume/director decided they wanted a “character development” change in little red so instead of her skirt (which I think represents a kind of naïveté), the costume changes to pants showing how she is not willing to seem vulnerable to anyone. Then again I was not little red or the directors but that’s just my hot take.
Miranda Ammon Make sure to listen to the soundtrack a bunch of times!! The music is hard and the better you know it, the more you can start focusing on character rather that the song. Break a leg at your audition!!
This is so good!!! I really want to play Little Red one day! Even though it’s quarantine I will try to email my music teacher and ask if we can do a school play of this when it’s over
It kind of depends on what you believe is inappropriate. The second act definitely deals with more adult themes but I think it does it in a respectable manner. Personally, when I’ve watched other productions, I’ve never found the second act to be “inappropriate” but even if it is perceived that way, I think watching the second act is too crucial to understanding the depths of this show for it to be disregarded.
A deprived point as to how the play works in particular when Broadway was a system acquainted when the belief was a great play on how I performed well at a Woods talent show years ago when my plan was to do well in terms of my own life.
I'm so deprived of theater that I'm just going around and watching plays. I really want to be in this particular play!
That One Is Short Same!
I’m in it and I just got cast as the baker
@@rvbekah Noice!! Congrats and good luck
i helped build the set for it

This is one of the few Cinderellas that I've heard able to actually hit her notes and vibrato! Very good.
Agreed! And I have a particular liking for Cinderella hahaha
cinderella is outstanding
The set is INCREDIBLE!! This can’t be a high school!
This is a High School? This is the greatest performance of a Stephen Sondheim play I ever seen.
You need to watch more 😂😂😂 this is good but nearly as good as some others
@@jeffreybeisecker3021 Sorry it took so long but I;m finally watching it, the witch is an amazing actress.

Can I just say the bakers wife KILLED IT!!

Damn, these are high schoolers? The talent-
The audience member full on shouting "Cheater!" at 1:46:38 had me choke on my water. omfg
This cast, the set, everything, is amazing!! One of my dream roles in Little Red. I wish I could be in a musical again😔 Quarantine really sucks. 😂
OMG I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE 😭
Where no even in quarantine

Ugh sameeee really hoping my local theater will do into the woods for the summer show 🤞🤞🤞

amazing catch from little red when they almost dropped the bread

The guy playing jack has great emotional connection
Everybody should watch this!!!!!! Can’t believe it’s in high school!
i literally got chills during no one is alone part 2 so good 🥺
Cinderella and Little red riding hood girl deserves the part
absolutely amazing. i have no words for how amazing this cast was.
Phenomenal performances. I'm finding myself reacting to them .. favorite show .. And their pipes?! GORGEOUS.
And the acting is top notch
The Finale was .. alright I CRIED. Okay? I cried. Stop being so great. ;)
I hope the seniors went on to arts colleges. They are all of them fodder for Julliard.
jack’s mother in this production is phenomenal.
1:08:23 Appropriate reaction from the audience.
The way they sing 'agony' is too good! Its just as good as the movie
Set is great!! Best costumes I've seen!!
That jack was amazing
Amazing job everyone! You all should be incredibly proud 😊
They’re like professional musical theater actors and actresses!
this is so good 🥺🥺 i’m playing jack rn and i’ve been struggling to find a jack i can follow as character inspiration. this whole cast is incredible!
Same when watching this it gave me more idea of what I could do with jack as a character!

This was amazing love the set design
Definitely the best show on UA-cam
I have one word for this cast:
AMAZING😍
This school's In The Heights was good too. When I saw the narrator I was like, Sonny? Is that you?
Cinderella is so good

That steward is out here doing the most with the role he was given.

Ok but the quality of everything is insane !
I literally screamed when they kissed-
Their connection is *chefs kiss* ❤

An excellent production. A high school show much, much better than Disney's version
An elementary school production of the actual musical would be better than the Disney version.
cinderella and the baker were definitely the best ones!
Anyone have an idea what happened to Red Riding Hood’s white skirt in act 2?
Ava Claire I think the costume/director decided they wanted a “character development” change in little red so instead of her skirt (which I think represents a kind of naïveté), the costume changes to pants showing how she is not willing to seem vulnerable to anyone. Then again I was not little red or the directors but that’s just my hot take.
Olivia Hara exactly why i didn’t wear a skirt in the second act ☺️
Emeline Ross you were so good!
emeline ross and Olivia Hara you guys were AMAZING!!! : ) edit: who liked my comment?
The wolf though 👀😼😩
NO BECAUSE I THOUGHT THE SAME THING
Omg this is amazingggg. This deserves WAYYY more views wth. I couldnt spot one bad thing about this performance wow.
not an easy play to perform for a high school -- impressive
I performed this at school recently and it feels so nostalgic watching it. This was amazing
Es impresionante 😍
I am the witch right now in my production and this witch was so so amazing !!!!!
no one is alone made me CRY
No one is alone killed me... this was incredible.
the prince and the baker's wife scene is so good wtf
12:25 what is that girl in the back doing? Awkward...
Idk lol😂😂😂 maybe she represents the woods and all the things in it like flowers grass trees etc.
I’m auditioning for this show soon. Does anyone have any tips?

1:46:32 the audience's reaction is killing me 💀💀💀💀
Jack ❤️😍
THIS IS SO GOOD 😍
Can you tell me if you think the second act is inappropriate because my cousins refuse to watch it because of it being “inappropriate”?

the cinderella was so good
I am auditioning for Little Red Riding Hood. 😔
Have you had your audition yet?
My only issue is they change the witch's target in "last midnight" to the baby instead of Jack.
This was my play in grade 2
Was this track or orchestra
it was a pre-recorded track that we sang to :)
Thankyou
Olivia Hara Were you Jack’s mother? If so, you are amazing! I’ve just started watching. 😌
