Seeing the rawness of Cynthia’s emotions here has made me want to see this movie…I understand her emotions behind her social media responses to the poster a little more clearly now, even if no one else gets it…
I understand both sides. It may sound crazy, but I just believe that when an original creator, artist, or actor says that something makes them uncomfortable, we should respect it. Her feelings matter. That said, she could've handled this better and messaged the fan artist in private and in a polite manner, letting them know how it made her feel. What she did was overreacting and caused utter chaos. Now we have a whole lot of idiots making this into racism and political issues, when in reality, she was hurt, she expressed that hurt wrongly and in an attacking manner, and now everyone knows her dramatic business. I'm on her side in the sense that her feelings were valid and she had a right to address them and earn respect from it, but I also think her poor reaction caused unnecessary drama. Regardless, it doesn't change my mind about wanting to see Wicked and from what I've seen, I like Cynthia and there's no crime in being a diva actress. I like Ariana more, ngl, but I still like Cynthia and I'm happy that she played Elphaba.
To be completely honest, I kind of get it too. I remember seeing a comment online _months_ before that edited poster came out where people were saying they hoped they’d release a poster more similar to the original Broadway playbill and someone responded something along the lines of, “Publicity-wise, it would be a bad idea for them to release an official poster where half the actresses’ faces are covered”. I also noticed that on the fan-made poster, Cynthia’s face is covered up much more than Ariana’s and, at the time, I feel like they were really using Ariana/Glinda for a lot of the marketing (presumably because she’s a slightly bigger name than Cynthia) so that might have only added fuel to the fire.
The moment she started crying I said “ah there it is” this reaction def speaks to why she had such a visceral reaction to that fan poster. It seemed so out of character to what I’ve seen over the years. Was it an overreaction, maybe but she is human and I have not lived her experiences.
@ different lived experiences create different reactions. From what I remember of that poster you could still tell it was Ariana whereas with Cynthia, the bulk of her face was covered.

I love how Ariana comfort her and looks at her. Ariana’s face is so beautiful. It’s almost like you could fully trust her Because it’s such a vulnerable moment, she stood there and understand
They often say that Ariana is is known for her arrogance and snotty attitude but over time she has really grown as she got a bit older and the media tends to paint a person of someone more than who they are and what they're not.She was just greatly misunderstood, she was young but just very opinionated and outspoken and did dumb things as any young person. But she truly wears her heart on her sleeve and she seems playful and a lot of fun.She is definitely amazing.
One of the best interviews I have ever seen. So raw and real. I relate being an adoptee- growing up I “fit in” but I also didn’t. This was a core hug and a teaching moment to feel a fraction of what people feel. Indescribably beautiful film on every single level and their friendship is beyond magical! Stunning!!!
Growing up as a friendless overweight gay teenager...people were very cruel and I constantly felt "othered", teased and ostracized. As I got older I began to realize who I am now and who I was then was/are my superpowers and like Elphaba I grew into what I believe is a pretty amazing person. And I will never again let anyone bring me down...Again! Also, with the on coming "political change", Wicked is exactly what the world needs right now!
Politics don’t actually matter. Leaders are selected not elected. Two sides of the same bird. They don’t care about the “little people” they just want us fighting each other and divided. We will be okay, promise ❤ God loves you JUST as you are, no matter what you’ve heard
I understand exactly what you are saying being the same overweight gay teenager. I still get a lot of hate and people being cruel in the gay community because I'm a big guy and fatphobia is a major component in our community.
What an interview, the joy , empathy an understanding among them. Also thanks to Nichelle for coming to the table, errr garden, prepared and not asking the normal glib questions

such a good interview. the interviewer did incredible, and the way ariana and cynthia were able to heal with the making of this movie is so special. not one of these interviews am i not crying with them!
Ari doesn't know it, but there is another layer of representation in including both her last names. So many kids out there have two last names that get routinely shortened in US culture. (My own children.) It's going to mean A LOT for some of them to see that and have their full identities validated as reasonable. I know it's not as powerful as other forms of representation within this film, but even small things can be important.

Ms. Turner bringing her whole self to this conversation. This is what we need. Well done.
Their chemistry is so strong! Wow, I can feel so much healing energy coming from them. This movie is going to be legendary.
U need help…
How legendary, like Cynthia in the Spiderman movies
I love how Ariana comfort her and looks at her. Ariana’s face is so beautiful. It’s almost like you could fully trust her Because it’s such a vulnerable moment, she stood there and understand
They often say that Ariana is is known for her arrogance and snotty attitude but over time she has really grown as she got a bit older and the media tends to paint a person of someone more than who they are and what they're not.She was just greatly misunderstood, she was young but just very opinionated and outspoken and did dumb things as any young person. But she truly wears her heart on her sleeve and she seems playful and a lot of fun.She is definitely amazing.
this is the sweetest interview yet 🥺🥺🥺🥺 so genuine and beautiful
One of the best interviews I have ever seen. So raw and real. I relate being an adoptee- growing up I “fit in” but I also didn’t. This was a core hug and a teaching moment to feel a fraction of what people feel. Indescribably beautiful film on every single level and their friendship is beyond magical! Stunning!!!
This was the most beautiful, aligned, loving, sweet and purposeful interview. Well done, Nischelle Turner. This was such a treat to watch.
Ari, giving Cynthia her time. It was beautiful. The interviewer made both those ladies cry... GREAT INTERVIEW!
I’m from rural Missouri and this made me cry omg 😢
Im from Kansas. This movie is so important to the youth of today.
is the movie set in kansas? i mean ik the og is
That was such an angelic and heartwarming interviewer. She’s so motherly I loved every second of this ❤
love this interview!! made me cry. huge hug
I really love this interviewer!! How touching and yes I’m crying.
Also, with the on coming "political change", Wicked is exactly what the world needs right now!
can’t tell you how much i relate to what you said. 💜💜

Deep personal journey's... they've brought so much heart to the roles! They did it!
What an interview, the joy , empathy an understanding among them. Also thanks to Nichelle for coming to the table, errr garden, prepared and not asking the normal glib questions
The interviewer was phenomenal!!! A great choice , very endearing and fit the blend of their personalities well. I loved this, would love to see her more often ET!
This is why I am completely obsessed with this motion picture- job well done on this interview
All of there interviews have given me so much joy. I am so happy and proud of them. Can’t wait to see this movie!!!
I love how much love and care they put into these roles. I adore them both and am counting down the days. And such a great interviewer 💚💖
Always like to put my faith in what I could do😊
And yea❤😊
*I love how they unconditionally love and support each other. They are kindred spirits*
How spiritual, makes you wanna smell their farts
How spiritual, makes you wanna smell their farts
How spiritual, makes you wanna smell their farttts
Can't stop crying. THE most amazing interview I've ever seen. 😭
The helicopter 😂 same Ariana same. This was a huge moment for Cynthia
Her antics distracted me more
I am not a musical fan and I’ve never seen Wicked BUT I’m definitely seeing this one.
Y’all got me crying too! 😢❤
Definitely watch the stage version if you can
Omg! This was one of the most beautiful heartwarming interviews I've ever watched! They all just clicked so wonderfully. This, by far, is on the top of the list as best interviews! ❤😊
Amazing interviewer and interview! I was literally in tears as well
Seeing them comfort each other is so cute. People have to look over differences and come together, life is so short and it’s such a great thing to connect with people who aren’t necessarily like you. We really should treat people with kindness regardless.
This interview was so healing, wow, didn't really expect this when I clicked on it
such a good interview. the interviewer did incredible, and the way ariana and cynthia were able to heal with the making of this movie is so special. not one of these interviews am i not crying with them!
What an amazing interview!! All three of them were authentic and beautiful! Thank you for the best 12 minutes I spent today 😊
This was the BEST interview i have ever watched😍😍😍
Ari doesn't know it, but there is another layer of representation in including both her last names. So many kids out there have two last names that get routinely shortened in US culture. (My own children.) It's going to mean A LOT for some of them to see that and have their full identities validated as reasonable. I know it's not as powerful as other forms of representation within this film, but even small things can be important.
Stop. You're doing too much.
@@BebeDaull I don't think you and I would agree on what "doing" means. Or maybe I don't understand your comment. What are you trying to say?
I think you said this beautifully. It's not your fault others can't appreciate your descriptive way of expressing your opinion. 😊
Good lord man not everything is a lesson in validation or identity politics, SHE WANTED A STAGE NAME 😂😂😂
@@barbarjinks8170 Good lord barbra I'm not talking about "identity politics". I'm reflecting on my own children's experience. CONGRATS ON LEARNING HOW TO MAKE CAPITALS!
This interview was absoutely what I needed to see today. Nischelle, you get this show and these two actresses. Looking forward to seeing this on Glicked day!
One of the cutest interviews today ever. It made me feel some hope in humanity.
Thank you for this great interview from Germany 🇩🇪 We will support this movie so much, especially in this dark times. We love you. ❤️
Ummm I love this interviewer so much 😭 such a beautiful and great interview. My favorite throughout this wicked promo. ❤️
The interviewer has the most fun and she has such good and caring energy. The interviewer did an amazing job with this interview ❤❤
I have never loved an interview so much. Less than 12 mins. I have laughed and cried and just loved being an alt black woman. I love Ariana because she understands. I love this interviewer because this is a real feeling. I relate to the feeling of being outside the group of people you yearn to accept you and this is just everything. I get it!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
One word: AMAZING! To everyone that played apart in this film. God Bless you'll. Keep up the fantastic work.
This interviewer was awesome. Such a good movie and what a great relationship they have.
This is probably my favorite interview. So wholesome, representative, and touching 🥹🫶🏽💛
This isn't a movie. This is going to be therapy for so many people.
Whewww this was a genuine and powerful interview for all 3 ladies. It also seems that Cynthia and Arianna formed such a meaningful bond while making this movie. They’re bonded for life…I love seeing ppl have positive chemistry with each other.😘😘😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️
