I know this was like 3 years ago but I have to say. BENNY CAN BE WHITE! The whole point than Kevin (Nina's Dad) didn't like Benny cuz he wasn't Latino. So Benny can be black,white,Asian, or any other race that's not Latino.
@@mackattack1930 Benny was written to be African-American. Lin-Manuel said himself that he was originally written to be Latino (that may have been Afro-Latino. He didn’t specify that part) and then they changed it to AA because Chris Jackson was more interesting than who he had written on paper. Even a song that was cut from the show has Benny talking about how he had corn rolls growing up lol Nothing against the guy who was cast in this HS production.
