I just saw Lani Hall and her husband, Herb Alpert, in concert. They were absolutely sensational. I first saw Ms. Hall, when she was a member of Brazil ‘66 back in the early 1970s. She has the most beautiful singing voice I have ever heard. It was great seeing Lani Hall and Karen Philipp with Mr. Mendes and the other musicians in the group in this video. Sadly, two of those men have died over the past few years.
Sergio mendez did a great job of introducing brazilian music to american audiences. He was in a sense like pat Boone. He took a song that was already a hit in brazil, repackaged it, most americans probably have never heard of Jorge ben.
