Tom Jones so comfortable on stage. He could sing anything. And his moves were a natural part of his “feel” for the music. He had everything. No wonder he was so popular.

I watch this from time to time. It can cheer you up. Sergio is one of the world's talents and Lani is amazing. Lots of comments here about Jones ruining the song. I disagree. That song can't be ruined. Jones was obviously having a great time with it and certainly the girls on stage. It was his show and he drew the audience in to the song. He could do what he wants. A great time was probably had by all there in the late 1960s, at the Fringe of a golden age in the west.

Henry Stowe I agree with you. Tom Jones loved to experiment with different genre styles. I applaud him for that. I think part of it was the key Tom was singing in. It needed to be at least a half step up for his voice. The key probably wasn’t changed because of the girls. I love Sergio and Tom...❤️

I loved being a kid and growing up in this era. The beach, pool parties with my parents and friends. Plenty of booze and food. It was Heaven.

I know - between the Beatles, this as an example of adults (wish my mom had held onto her cocktail dresses/amazing!), & then the hippies, I couldn't wait to grow up, or at least be a teenager. Everything was so freakin' cool and full of life.

My mother had this LP back in the 60s, and she loved Sergio's music! I have always enjoyed listening to it, and I can sing along with them in Portuguese! I don't think that Tom Jones ruined it at all.... His English interpretation was spot on! I did not know the English translation of it before, so it was interesting and fun to hear it. Classic music, classic artists! There will always be a need for this entertainment in our world. 👍🥰
It's not a translation, except in the case of one or two lines. More of a set of English words that kind of fit.

Tom Jones, was underrated as a singer. But he was, and still is, very consistent and solid with great control of his repertoire. Besides that, he was an amazing entertaining. Wonderful show, full of world class guests. My family never missed it. Nice guy!

This song originally came out in 1966--first song on the first Brasil '66 album. But the year of the clip was 1968. I can tell because this is the second Brasil "66 lineup, the musicians used on albums 4-7. Only Sergio and Lani Hall remain from the first lineup. The blonde singer is Karen Phillipp (not a typo), an aspiring actress like the singer she replaced, Janis Hansen (who went on to a recurring role as Oscar's wife in TV's The Odd Couple). The bass player is Sebastao (Sebastian) Neto, on bongos Dom Um Romao, and drummer Rubens Bassini. And Tom Jones as proto-Austin Powers lol! Enjoy!
Oops! I rewatched the clip and clearly that was Bassini on Bongos and Um Romao on drums! And I knew I was screwing that up but the clip was on pause. So sorry you guys or your families!

I was only 9 when my Mom used to watch Tom Jones Show every week and get so excited and dance around... LOL!!! I used to watch her in comic shock. She was always so demure and low-keyed until Tom Jones came on TV.. LOL what memories! Of course, she would only get REALLY excited if my Dad was not in the room at the time!! LOL!!!
