All Jag Effect Rollouts

- This video is a reference guide for all Jag Effect rollouts on every applicable core map in TF2. The timestamps for each map are below in the description and in the pinned comment. If you’d like to use the scripts I mentioned, just copy and paste them from the description into your engineer.cfg file (make one in notepad if you don’t already have one).
NOTE (02/06/21) -- Had to mute a section of this video since apparently a specific part of the Meet The Sniper theme is copyrighted. Shouldn't take too much away from the utility of this video, since it's all visual past the point where I stop talking.
My discord, socials, TF2 servers, merch, information about my in-game settings, and video credits (such as the music used in my videos) can be found on my website at uncledane.com

Wow not at all realistic where is the scout that shot his pistol a few times and steals your full ammo pack?
^ This shit.
Scouts should just check the map tbh thats what a scout should do
Yes its a team based shooter scouts speed is his key in checking enemy positions

And fast
It's a practical problem.
Sometimes you need a little less gun...
But sometimes you just gotta use more gun to stop some big, mean mother hubbard from tearin' ya a structurally superfluous new bee-hind.
Oh no, I just remembered Mechawreck
i think i'm saving some time by upgrading the dispenser first. it gives 50 metal after the first upgrade, that can be used directly on the tele, resupply/loadout shortcut, upgrade to level 3, getting another 50, directly hitting the tele to lvl 2. no time wasted hitting the tele twice between upgrades.
Cr42yguy Your statement can save so much lives
The fastest most reliable way I've found is 2 hits on tele, 2 hits on Sentry/Dispenser, resupply, 2 hits on tele, 2 hits on Sentry/Dispenser, resupply, 4 hits on Sentry/Dispenser. Remember, all that matters is that you finish getting both buildings to level 3 before the tele becomes active since the tele becoming active is a strict limit on how fast you can upgrade the buildings. I've personally used this Jag-Effect rollout myself all the time but I actually do Sentry at spawn instead of Dispenser and I can easily be standing on a level 3 tele holding a level 3 sentry for at least a full second before the tele becomes active.
erect ur diapencer or have another engi beat it for you so it can erect magnificently
+Cr42yguy also if one changed to Jag at the end every time they could possibly upgrade the Sentry for when every second counts (the ones where the round starts b4 u upgrade)

Tip for Casual mode: if you hate being stuck those five seconds right after the round starts, then press your suicide bind when the countdown to the match is at 4 or lower. This will cause the game to respawn you when the match starts, and since you respawned, you are free to move.
This will help a lot for the Jag Effect rollouts.

As much as I'd like to use this resource I'm adverse to using what I don't understand the mechanics of. There is a great deal of additional text in the teleport script. I would like to understand the mechanics of the actions taken in it before making use of it and after going over and over it again I still am unable to see what the "bind b" portion of the script does.
he said ”type dispenser going up in the chat” not in the comment section!
Good thing I ain't the only one, who watched through this compilation.
It took you 39 minutes and 2 seconds to set up Dane?!
By god, the match is already over!
Peril Unless it's Dustbowl

When you are upgrading your tele entrance, its probably faster to spend the other 100 metal on the dispenser and respawn while the tele entrance does the upgrade animation.

I acutally watched through the entire video. I'm not an engineer main but I still want to know how to use the class viably.
Spunow lol if the enemy team has any amount of coordination, you are fucked no matter what class you play
@@Kilesfactor what if your team has better coordination
@@xyzzy-dv6te then you get to take a piss break or something, because your team is probably already spawn camping the enemy gamers.
I noticed most times your waiting for your tele entrance to upgrade, perhaps you could put in two swings towards your dispenser, refill metal, and upgrade tele to 3 and disp. to l2, refill, disp l3, then take to the front, might shave a second or two
That bugged me, too
Uncle Dane will never be welcome in the speedrunner community
Wait. A new Uncle Dane video, showcasing an advanced roll out for a class I never play? Sign me up!
This is a nice collection for those wanting to optimize their rollouts. I would personally not want the Tele Exit up by the Dispenser of Badwater first though due to Spies. I tend to place it down to the side of the health pack (but don't build on top of it) with the extra time left.
I usually put the teleporter on the health pack too, but for this rollout I'd have to walk up the stairs after bringing the dispenser to the front, so I put it on the cliff. I could have moved it afterwards, but playing the Banjo is more important.

If you upgrade your dispenser while the teleporter is in the upgrade phase so you aren't uselessly swinging your wrench, it might make it go a bit faster.

you're supposed to say "Dispenser goin' up"
Dispenser going up.
Also on the Mercenary park if you go from the spawn to the left (up that staircase), it's probably a shorter path.
The right has the big ammo pack while the left has the medium, also there are boxes on the right to protect the tele exit

I love engineer because you need to problem solve like this to balance efficiency with how fast you can get it down on the battlefield.
Which your strategy’s actually always accommodate for a scout taking the big ammo pack by having the sentry be the last to level 3, as a level two sentry is way faster to get up for way less cost.
*AnClE DaNeE tEh RoLloUt MaN*

It’s very soothing to see such smooth movements in placing buildings. Thank you Uncle Dan for providing us this guide. You spoil us too much.
Uncle Dane is verly gud fast main.
technically, you could make a lot of them faster by switching to the jag at the last resupply before you upgrade the sentry to lvl 3. Or at least, start the round with a more meta wrench.
The Jag has a lower repair rate, doesn't it? Probably not the best to have at the start of a round when there's chaos. The best wrench to have at the start would be stock.
like that, thats a meta wrench
ankle dan is a very effective sentry man.

I just finished watching ALL of your videos from beginning to end. The way my life has been over the past few years, I haven't had time to play much TF2. So I play through watching your videos. I just finished all of Array Sevens videos too.

Uncle Dane the Rollout Main; also, “Dispenser goin’ up!”
Thanks for showing us the sentery spots we will be seeing used at the start of a round for the next few weeks. Its a lot easier to take them down when you know where all the engi's are going to build.
sometimes when your setting up outside spawn you have 115 metal and you hit the dispenser 3 times. The extra 15 metal given does not make the upgrade any faster because you still have to hit it 2 more times so you need to hit it twice then get ammo or you could not hit it at all with 115 metal and go get metal so you could do 4 straight swings.
Dispenser going up.
I lied, I fast-forwarded.

Absolutely necessary video for us amateur engies looking to improve our engie rollout. You are a hero, Dane!
WERS'S THE ENGINEER BLOOPRINTS UNKEL DAN
also steel is attack/defend
Useful and pleasant video as always Dane.
When running past a constructing Dispenser and Tele, make sure to swing at your Dispenser once in passing. It's not necessary if you're switching loadout to resupply though.
Upgrade Dispenser before Teleporter, as it gets more time for more metal for more leeway in upgrading your Sentry later.
When the Dispenser is at maximum level, avoid it when upgrading Teleporter, space the two apart if necessary. That level 3 stored metal goes to Sentry later.
I really liked that Eureka Effect, Rescue Ranger, Wrangler combo. I do it a lot in 2Fort to quickly take upper bridge when all enemy snipers are down. I call it, the Wreuesca Ranfet. (I don't.)
Dispenser goin' up!
You got to be the backbone of the team! Show them you can be the best as engineer!
Any chance on getting another Engineer's Blueprints? I know that you don't like spoonfeeding the community, but I really enjoy those vidoes.
Always appreciate the huge fucking amount of effort you put in your engineer videos.
While I've been having an off an on again relationship with this game after a long burnout, it's videos like this that makes me scratch that itch to play again. Thanks Uncle Dedenne
Dispenser Goin’ Up! I watched the whole thing from start to end.
I don't even play TF anymore, but these videos are so relaxing.
For all the effort needed this is hardly needed to be done in a casual match and will rarely make a difference.
However I still think it might be necessary for maximum optimization if you're the kinda guy, or simply playing some sort of competitive.
It is very needed. If you're still building stuff after the round starts you're gonna be fucked by the horde of enemies coming at you and teammates taking your ammo packs
Watched the whole thing! DISPENSER GOING UP
Oml thank u you for making this vid, I've been waiting

"DISPENSER GOING UP" just for you ancle dane the vary gurd sentry man
39 min uncle Dane video...
OH BOY OH MY
Dispenser goin down.
Cuz I just skipped to the end.
Why dou you rotate the teleport entrance(and the dispenser too), as far as i know it has no useful effect. I understand the exit but this i just confusing for this nephew.
I think you could save time if you, after upgrading your teleporter to level 2, went to spend your remaining metal on the dispenser, go to the resuply, finish upgrading the dispenser to level 2, upgrade the teleporter to level 3, go back to ressuply and finish the dispenser.
That means less time spent wacking a building that can't currently be upgraded.
Good video Dane! Seems like you really enjoyed making this one :)

Very good and helpful video! Gonna have to try this once I get a Eureka Effect. Something I noticed during a majority of your setups is that you sometimes swang at your teleporter or dispenser while it was on upgrade cooldown, making that swing useless. Instead, why not use that swing to get a headstart on your dispenser or sentry instead. If you don't have any metal for the tele after that, you just go to the resupply. Thanks again, and see you next video Dane! :)
I would say "Dispenser Going Up", but I just skipped to the end after you stopped talking and added this to my Watch Later.

What if instead of hitting the teleporter while it's upgrading to level 2 and 3 you immediately hit the dispenser.
thanks for the vid uncle dane! although i would most likely won't use it any time soon but i've always wondered how did you do the jag effect rollout.. it's really cool and interesting!

On payload maps, I try hard to keep the teleporters in operation once the cart has moved a fair piece.
How effective is the the Eureka Effect on offense?
