By far my favorite thing to do in this game is being that one eureka effect engie on offense in badwater that teleports his entire team straight to the cart in a matter of seconds.

@@Calcifer-Pendragon18 I think I was alluding to the fact that the Eureka makes it easier and faster to construct a level 3 tele in normally unconventional spots, thus making rejoining the fight take mere seconds for teammates, though saying it'd be mere seconds for the entire team may have been somewhat hyperbolic.
Still, since the cooldown is (if i remember correctly) 3 seconds per player at that level, it wouldn't even take half a minute for everyone to use it at least once and get to the front.
@@lithesra3666 Ahhh ok i getcha thanks for clarifing.. I play Engi. a lot. My main is Medic but Engi is second and Pyro is third. and i am a Engies best friend when i am Engi or Pybro. And i do not have a lot of experience with the Eureka Effect. I use the Jag and the Gunslinger.

something worth noting: Placing the sentries along the ledge, while being a more advantageous position, it also makes it vulnerable to whiffs from soldier rockets hitting the ledge under it. It therefore proves prudent to check enemy team comp, because if there are too many soldiers or demomen, watch out.

You are absolutely right about this.
When I go engie on defense, I usually never have enough time to build on B because of Casual Mode's inherent lack of coordination, so I just usually jump straight to building on C, with the Sentry on the left side rail. It works really well, and teammates can usually see what needs to be done, where they have to push, and when they have to retreat. I almost always help my team win these matches on these points.
PS: If my team is doing good I can adapt and build on B, but that is often rare in my experience. I'd rather have a solid defense on C, than having two mediocre defense points, only to have to build on last after they steamroll both points back to back, as it often happens in matches.
Let's all build sentries in the weird sot on last to irritate Dane. All of us, at the same time. Pile up 5 sentries there and maybe call BLU to build theirs too

17:59 no, you can't just shoot it from the map room the engineers who put it there usually have a dispenser on their back and just keep repairing it while you try not to get shot by the 3 snipers who always stay there.
Agustin literally just shoot them if using hitscan or if using explosives shoot above them and you’ll hit all their shit and them at the same time
It's right next to spawn and a pretty good flank route to cut the enemy and there's always some soldier or demo or heavy locking down that area. It's very difficult to reliably get hits without dying after which the engie just heals up.
If I start seeing Sentry guns and mini-sentries in those spots, I wouldn't be surprised.

Hey Uncle Dane I don't know if you'll see this but I just wanted to thank you for the courage you gave me to start playing Engineer before I was not interested in the class but ever since watching you're videos Engie Is on of my favorite classes to play and I am really happy I found your vids Thanks! :)
I prefer to use the 5:50 spot (or just a bit to the left, on the lowground) for a full sentry, which will be rescue-rangered / rebuilt on the cliff as necessary. In a pub, this spot will always wrack a few good kills and get the enemy to waste an uber-charge to take the sentry out.

Asking as the player who never played on highlander: what's different between casual and pro versions of badwater basin?
Red_Ruby one of them is that blu spawn moves to the bunker near the first point
I don’t know how you would call it, but the path that leads to boiler room is replicated onto the other side of shack between point b and c
there are stairs to that rampway on last from the outside, so any class can come in through the stairs.
Point A hill is going to be a Sentry showdown. Mini-Sentry on the hill vs Leveled Sentry on the cliff. Who will win?!
Edit: Okay nevermind all of Badwater is going to be a Sentry showdown lmao.
Point B has a couple spots for Minis to shoot at regular Sentries.

23:46 - One of my go-to sentry spots for offense when the second point has been capped. Denying ambushers is a good way to protect what is probably already a difficult push.
Finally a new episode of this great series
My favorite play is to put a blue sentry in the sniper room by tires so that you can barely hit the top from the little balcony on last, then try to sneak over to the balcony and rescue ranger it. Rarely works, but when it does it's practically a guaranteed win.
I’m glad to see another blueprints. Long, in depth looks at specific strategies helps me know what areas to defend to protect friendly nests

Interesting idea: combine 5cp and payload, placing the payload in the middle and having the cart get pushed by both teams in opposite directions, with the push rules being that it takes about 5 seconds to turn around and that enemy presence severely slows the cart but doesn't stop it outright.
So payload race, but better?
I think i good strategy is to first equip the eureka effect before placing the tele entrance because as long as the entrance doesn't get destroyed, your teles will always only need 100 metal per upgrade

J. H This game becomes really enjoyable once you become somewhat competent at it. Honestly, just play the game a lot. You need a lot of foundational gameplay knowledge (movement, aim, etc), so the start is one of the most important times for you. Mainly, just don’t be afraid to make mistakes. I’d recommend you refer to UA-cam tutorials for more advanced mechanics in the late run. (rocket jumping, sticky jumping, etc)
@@monk8538 thanks mate. I tried to rocket jump a few times but just end up flying up instead of foward.
@@j.h8219 you have to run and shoot the rocket backwards instead directly on your feet. Turn around for a sec, and hit the rocket at your toes while going in that direction.

That is kinda a viable placement for a few kills before the enemy realises what to do. Since no one, or a few, will think of placing it somewhere ballsy.

@@declansykes4243 I hear something that makes me squirm because it sounds off and I haven't noticed it in his other videos. Sometimes his speech seems to fade in when he starts a certain word. As if he's "breathing" the word. Maybe it's just my sensitive ears.
@@XANA520 I hear it too. His mic is too sensitive, so it picks up every noise, including the pitch. So if he speaks inconsistently, it makes it alot more obvious.
