I once bought a non-tradable prussian pickelhaube for 7 ref and went on a trade server to sell it for 9 or 10, if people wanted to keep it, but I got insulted because "backpack says it's worth 2 ref", nobody selling at 2 ref and everyone selling over 15 ref. Ironically that’s not how trading in a large market works, by simply trading your driving up transactions which causes the marketplace to flux in higher/lower prices as things get traded for varying prices. The more people trading means there’s more potential buyers and thus potential profit.
I've considered it, but I'd need to spend some time learning before I'd feel comfortable buying anything. But I'm currently spending that time working on videos, sooo lol
@BTC bandit I really don’t care if people are making more than me by investing in shutdown, but I have a steady source of income, and actually work 2 jobs.

Bra Ha yea I haven’t really kept this updated here but I’ll try to! I think this is day five and I bought my first Miami Nights Hetman’s Headpiece. With three keys in ma backpack.

Little tip for anyone that wants to buy a key at the start of your buy them from the marketplace or a trusted 3rd party(you use these so you can buy keys that are immediately tradeable) and you can often find them for cheaper than the store price. Store price is 2.50 ea. if you buy from marketplace and find them for 2.10-2.30. It’s not much of a discount but it can certainly be the difference of you being able to buy an additional key or not.
This video helped me learn some new features about backpack.tf I never knew about so ty for that. I can’t wait for part 2 to come out great video as always!
Back in the day I started by scrap banking....... Selling one weapon for one scrap metal and making change for big traders who wanted to quickly convert their random weapons into metal with me by just trading me two random regular weapons for every scrap metal I gave them. If you start buy scrap baking you can quickly convert traders weapons into metal for them at the exact same price as the game does but they can do one trade to you instead of spending lots of time crafting the metal in the game. This is a time-saver for large traders...... This is also the secret formula to keep plenty of weapons on hand that you can then sell for 1 scrap each. Obviously selling a single weapon for a piece of scrap metal is exactly twice what the weapon is worth yeah it's still so cheap that most players who want whatever new weapon the game has they will probably pay it anyway. I remember I would keep four of every single weapon in my inventory is so I always had a couple of extras I could sell people, if I had more than four of them I would just craft it into metal myself...... Hop on the train servers and create a bind using the console for chat so you can just press a single button every minute or two advertising something like: SELLING weapons 1 scrap each. I got creative with it and I actually added the word SCRAPBANKER to my username so every time I posted that chat message people would see that I am a scrap banker also. The little players who wanted a specific weapon they didn't have would trade me a scrap metal and the big traitors who wanted to dump all their idled items on me so I could give them exactly equal value of 1/2 scrap per weapon would supply me with my inventory..... If you spend a couple of weeks on any large trading communities servers doing this then you will start rolling in refined metal pretty quickly....buying hats, etc working your way up. Of course I haven't played the game in about seven or eight years now at this point...... I have no idea if this works in the current TF2 era. I was doing this back in the day when people could text idle alt accounts with sandboxie and a lot of the traitors had a lot more items they were looking to scrap Bank.

This is an amazing tutorial for beginners even though I’m not a beginner and a more experienced mid/low tier trader this is great to watch just to warm up your memory for trading. I actually was able to get enough ref to get about 2 keys! And I got my first unusual and Aussie a few days ago! I got scammed out of every item of value in my backpack a few years ago, after I'd given the game up for various reasons. I lost all the taunts I'd collected via random drops, all my stranges, and all my killstreaks. On top of that my account was hijacked and a friend of mine lost 50 dollars worth of items to the same scammer while he was using my profile to do it. It solidified me not playing TF2 anymore until just a few days ago after watching MVM gameplay, remembering just how much I liked the playstyle variety and the feel of the game itself. Now I'm slowly trying to build myself back up, and might just get something out of it after all this time...

One of the soldiers who killed me recently had a golden flare gun and frying pans. The frying pan must be cheap because it's a meme weapon, but I don't know about the rocket launcher
Im glad you made these guides, im just starting out in unusual trading. I'm still a bit clueless on what to do but hopefully I can manage to get an unusual or two.
Man is there way I can trade without spending cash ? (I lost 400 dollars worth of items because i got scammed by one of my “closest “ friend , there is no evidence that he was bot , he wasn’t , now I’m left with nothing (I can send proof that proves I got scammed out of everything ))
starting out by selling my strange veteran's attire for 3.45 keys, figured that'd be a good start since i dont play soldier no where near as much as i used to and i cant afford keys with real money at the moment. i used to mess around with trading but i never made real profit, hopefully this will help me and so far its very informative. thank you man
Honestly, I’m F2P and doing fine trading low tier items gotten as gifts. So far, I’ve built my way up from around 4 keys and 7 ref to 6 keys and around 20-30 ref. Also, I’m planning on making a keys to riches series sometime. How many keys do you think I should start out with?
I know the basic concept of profiting. Hop into a trade server and see if anyone is selling a "quicksell" which is an item they are trying to get rid of, and is usually being sold for less value. For example, if someone is quickselling a hat for 9 keys while it's worth 12, you could buy that hat, and sell it for 10 or 11 keys, making profit. Hope this helps
Thank you soo incredibly much. i just started to get into the trading scene yesterday and i did make alot of profit but i hope these videos help me along with my journey as i start trading for more expensive items.
This is AWESOME! It clears up a lot of problems for new traders, it’ll help them get into trading much more easier. I wish I had this guide when I started trading :O

Muchas gracias por la información, me encantaría ser tan bueno en trading como tu. Un saludo.
Im glad you made these guides, im just starting out in unusual trading. I'm still a bit clueless on what to do but hopefully I can manage to get an unusual or two.
Man is there way I can trade without spending cash ? (I lost 400 dollars worth of items because i got scammed by one of my “closest “ friend , there is no evidence that he was bot , he wasn’t , now I’m left with nothing (I can send proof that proves I got scammed out of everything ))
git gud
starting out by selling my strange veteran's attire for 3.45 keys, figured that'd be a good start since i dont play soldier no where near as much as i used to and i cant afford keys with real money at the moment. i used to mess around with trading but i never made real profit, hopefully this will help me and so far its very informative. thank you man
This dude sounds like the son of TheLockpickingLawyer lmao

Holy crap the virtual economist this is what I need I have no idea how to trade nowadays
I just have a question is it possible to earn long term profit in tf2, like waiting for the key price to rise and then quick selling a ton of keys
In theory everything can be invested in in that way, but remember inflation.
I'm starting my trading journey, and even tho this video is 3 years old
Its helping me a lot.
Tho im kinda sucky and poor at trading.
Ok good as a new player I can finally dress my pyro up just the way I wan-
“First you need to have a premium account”
GOD FUCKING DAMM IT!
I think after u set up steam guard, u wait for a week and your items are then tradable

When is part 2 coming out because i really want to know how to make a profit
When he release it
Corona virus can you pls go, I wanna see my friends again.
Hope this helps
using the steamRep Checker helps a lot, also that sends you directly to backpack and other important pages
Can’t wait for a few weeks when this will become completely outdated
You fool.
@@gitchincanama580 Did it get irrelevant though?
Thank you soo incredibly much. i just started to get into the trading scene yesterday and i did make alot of profit but i hope these videos help me along with my journey as i start trading for more expensive items.

3:40 Virtual economist idk if you're good friends wth the inferno guy but a while back he scammed me for one of my unusual weapons
I'm pretty confident that guy that scammed you was a impersonator
Damn, sorry that happened to you.
Be careful with impersonators
This is AWESOME! It clears up a lot of problems for new traders, it’ll help them get into trading much more easier. I wish I had this guide when I started trading :O
When does the 2 video comes not Complain just ask
I would like to point out that about a week after this video was made. The amount of keys in circulation went by 1500, lowering the value by 8 ref
Quicker guide on TF2 trading:
Buy something at 110% of its price, then sell it at 40% of it's price cause Nobody in the Entire World will Ever sell or buy them at any other price
