Thanks man. One thing I would suggest is to load the optimised defaults in the bios then reboot back into the bios and do the flash. This is to minimise any problems when flashing the bios and suggested by Gigabyte on the forums.

Thanks for uploading this easy to follow tutorial, for me I have the same motherboard but I just figured out I have the rev 1.2x version which I figured out by looking at the bios version I had which was “FB” in the bios.
I’m new to the PC world and my first pc I had the store assemble and got everything ready because they had to configure windows but now my upgrade package has me a little confused. I got a similar MB of the B650 EX V ice I think it. I just liked the white lol like I said I’m a newb so didn’t know about Wi-Fi drivers. I chatted with tech support of store and sent me the one link to download WLAN but do I need the LAN? Ethernet cable works fine but WiFi it shows great connection but I have no internet connection in anything I do and don’t know if it’s driver related or network settings. Also, the guy made it sound like that’s the only driver needed but then I saw so many others for audio (can that make speakers sound better?), Bluetooth, AMD chipset, Bios like this. And really confused me and wondering if I’m not taking full advantage. My old os had issues and randomly just take me to the Lock Screen and wonder if a chipset would’ve helped. So new MB and Ryzen 7 if that means anything. But any help is GREATLY appreciated!! Sorry for it being so long lol
I struggled about 4 hours of trying this method and each time I got “Invalid BIOS image”. I tried multiple BIOS versions, even considered using an old usb drive just to test things. The final solution was to use the Q Flash Plus method for updating the BIOS, if your motherboards supports it just do it that way and save yourself some time. Seems that that is a common problem for Gigabyte B650 MBs. I’m using a B650M DS3H. Hope it helps someone. Edit: Aorus has a 30s tutorial on how to do it

Thanks man! Just put my PC together. B650 Aorus Elite AX, Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon 6800XT, Corsair HX1000, and 32 GB of Gskill Trident Z5. Tried a 64gb flash the first time, and it would not recognize the files. Went and grabbed my 13 year old Micro Center 8gb flash drive, and it worked perfectly!!! I was getting a bunch of crashes while gaming, and I don't wanna jinx myself, but I have been playing all night without a crash.

Hello, I have this mobo and I can't activate the Wi-Fi. I have installed up to one x1 x PCI in it and nothing, it doesn't want to activate the Wi-Fi. Could it be something in the bios? I have updated to f8b and nothing yet

Thanks for this mate, I kept getting an error. Although you didn't cover the exact fix you mentioned my error was usually the wrong bios being updated. I have a "aorus elite b650 rev 1.0" and I was on the page for "aorus elite b650 rev 1.2 (1.0/1.1)" which I took to be correct but was not. Through a bit of searching on gigabyte's page I found "aorus elite b650 rev 1.0" and updated bios fine.
I don't really care MSI anything, But they look to be pretty close to the same specs. I think you would be be good either way you go. Thank you for watching and the comment.

what thumb drive did you use because my pny 32gb isn't working, keeps saying bios id error when I try to update the bios and i tried different bios files to make sure.
So I have this Mobo. A 7600cpu and a 7650x GPU. I have gotten the light on the Mobo saying that the GPU isn't working right. I have gone through all the trouble shoot ideas. I just went to upgrade the BIOS as the last ditch effort to see if the Mobo needed compatible drivers. Well I got it to almost installing f3b update and when I click the the restart button it just locks up. I'm just not sure if I missed something. Thoughts and input would be helpful thanks 🙏

Awesome! It was a success! I have purchased a new computer recently and the audio in one of the shooter games I play is weird. I can hear sound only when I am looking at the direction of the source , otherwise I cannot. Thought a bios update would fix it. It did not fix the audio issue but nonetheless I got the latest bios😊. Having serious issues trying to flash anything after F3b BIOS. F3b update worked great with EXPO and PBO settings to my 7700x. Tried to flash newer F3h or F3 bios updates and both just break my pc. I’m not able to restart without it getting stuck on a dark screen and never booting, have to force shut down to attempt to power back up. Sometimes it doesn’t even boot, it’s just totally bugged. No bios tweaks would work either. I’ve tried everything and I cannot update, sucks because if I wanted to get the new 3D chips I won’t be able to if I keep getting BIOS update issues with future updates. If anyone has any tips I’d really appreciate it. Tried different flashdrives, tried to load optimized settings before updating bios, restarting CMOS, etc. I have to end up reverting back to F3b to get a stable pc again.
I will try it your way I’ve been trying to update mine to f3b and every time I do it nothing happens just stays on f1 version Update: put everything back to default in bios restarted and q flash worked after that
Pablo, just to be clear......you set everything back to default ("load optimized default" F7) and restarted prior to Q-Flash? No issues updating bios after that?
Hey, just did this, bit after clicking restart to start bios update it restarted to a black screen it didn't load into bios or give an option to load into bios. I'm afraid of doing anything because I don't want to brick the motherboard, but it seems strange.
Sounds like a plan... I've seen videos where people update the BIOS before installing the OS. I feel like it would be safer to install the OS, then update the BIOS because at least it'll reboot back into the OS? Looking forward to building mine.

For me it was the formating of the file drive, it has to be fat32

Updating the BIOS the way you have just shown is way easier looking than using the q flash with the USB in I/O plate on the Motherboard.

by default the boot time with xmp/expo will be longer due to the tighter timings.

What's the difference between rev 1.0 and rev 1.x of the motherboards?
Just a "newer" version, revision 1 (rev 1.0) is the first motherboard made and 1.x is the newer version made of the same motherboard

I know it's late but you don't need a different USB you can just format this one to 32gb and should be able to select FAT32 format for your drive.

I have F3h on my ryzen 7 7700x, do NOT use it. It is broken with this CPU, stay on F3b until it is fixed.
@@AmpMusic same for F3. Gives same issues, I’ll have to wait for another update. Luckily reverting is simple, back on F3b.

I will try it your way I’ve been trying to update mine to f3b and every time I do it nothing happens just stays on f1 version
Update: put everything back to default in bios restarted and q flash worked after that

Pablo, just to be clear......you set everything back to default ("load optimized default" F7) and restarted prior to Q-Flash? No issues updating bios after that?
Hey, just did this, bit after clicking restart to start bios update it restarted to a black screen it didn't load into bios or give an option to load into bios.
I'm afraid of doing anything because I don't want to brick the motherboard, but it seems strange.
I would use the flash back button on the motherboard to use a different BIOS. Thanks for watching and the comment.

Does your computer just stall on the reboot after have selected the BIOS file?

I've seen videos where people update the BIOS before installing the OS. I feel like it would be safer to install the OS, then update the BIOS because at least it'll reboot back into the OS?
