Awesome tutorial mate. Just got a new mbd and hadn't done this before. Thank you so much!. Good tutorial straight to the point and easy to follow. PS you shouldn't have to apologise for the video length.
Lots of people can’t access the bios so it makes sense to start at the very basic low level, this is becoming more important as amd are releasing more and more am4 parts that even the freshest motherboard stock won’t be ready for. The same will be happening later this year for the 9000 series on am5

In this video there was only 1 file that populated in the ZIP folder. I downloaded the latest F30 updated and there are 3 additional files plus an EFI Folder. Are all of these other files required or should I only copy over the file similar to your video? TIA
I read where Mike said it could be an incompatible USB drive so the board won't be able to flash the bios. My efforts so far are only resulting in the machine turning on for a second or 2 when pressing the flash button, then guessing it's trying to read the usb drive, failing and turning off. So as a last resort what exact USB drive, make, model, size, is recommended? Also, I'm downloading using a Windows 11 system, but the board is on a Windows 10 system, so I'm using the Windows 10 links. If that matters? Good clear video, seems so easy! lol.. Thank you.
This worked for me, but with weird behavior. Upon pressing the button, all system fans started spinning, but that's not unexpected. It first flashed quickly, then slowly. Took about 5 minutes. So far so good. Booted, shut down and went to BIOS to re-enable XMP. Apparently this caused another memory training from scratch, which, according to Gigabytes website, is expected to "take longer" on higher speeds. However, after 25 minutes I still had black screens on 32GB DDR5-6000. I just shut it off and turned it back on to which it booted normally. Now this exact problem also occured when I put this PC together...I'm not sure if this is behavior is expected on this board on a full initial memory training? Thanks though, I found Gigabyte's own manual a bit confusing, yours was much easier to follow.
One Question, which, Software do i have to choose, when i have the Gigabyte B650 Gaming x AX v2 Rev 1.0, because on the gegabyte website there are no revision numbers.

hi i need to see since i wont be using ethernet for my pc during the setup process is there anyway i can install the wifi driver onto this board somehow?
Hi. Thanks for the video. I'm a little annoyed because if I'm here, it's because flashing doesn't work. I have a brand new config, assembled, without a graphics card, with a 9800X3D that my B650E AORUS ELITE X AX ICE therefore doesn't know. I downloaded the F34e version of the bios, renamed it to gigabyte.bin, placed it at the root of the USB key, placed it at the back on the BIOS port, pressed (briefly enough) the Qflash button... the PC turns on, and turns off immediately. No flashing, no diode, nothing. However, everything is connected correctly and everything seems to have been done correctly to prepare this flashing. I admit to being perplexed.
@@mikesunboxing thans for your reply! Yes of course. But I found the problem... the usb flash drive itself! It works perfectly under Windows but not for a bios flash it seems =)
Thanks for this great tutorial. Would it not be easier to boot into bios with a display and do the bios update through the UEFI menu? Or is that not an option?
@@mikesunboxinghey, thank you for this video. I booted my newly built computer and the BIOS didn’t recognize both sticks of RAM. Unplugged one and then I was able to get into the BIOS and update from USB and I used your tip of renaming the downloaded file to a .bin. Worked like a charm. Thanks!
@@mikesunboxing I have tried that and it didn't work. Would it matter in which slots they were inserted? I tried with one in the A2 slot, then removed it and tried with the other in the B2 one. More detailed: I downloaded some GCC updates and when my pc restarted the DRAM light was on and there was no connection to monitor/keyboard/mouse. I tried to reset memory with the manual button, and the red light was alternating between CPU and DRAM. I tried resetting the CMOS, and the DRAM light was the only one on. I tried booting with one of my two RAM sticks at a time to determine whether either of them was faulty, no difference. What else can I try? I've read online to flash my bios but I'm not sure how that would work if the monitor/keyboard/mouse aren't connected. Lastly, I attempted to flash bios but monitor won't respond. There is no signal.

Is there a way to know which BIOS is the best or like a TOP? I've never updated my AORUS ELITE AX BIOS because I've read some reviews aboout some versions and I don't want to risk. What about updating the BIOS in the Gigabyte Center? Mine is rev 1.0 with F4 BIOS and it's working fine.
if it is working fine and you are happy with it don't update it. updates are usually bug fixes and security patches, with the occasional new cpu compatibility. If you aren't concerned with any of those and your system works, like i said leave it alone
I’ve just built my first PC using the V2 version of this board and it seems to be working fine. Should I still download and update the latest bios? I don’t understand what all the other files are on gigabytes website either but I can’t get the WiFi antenna that came with the board to work.
install the chipset drivers and the wifi drivers from the gigabyte site that will sort out the wifi issue. update the bios if you like, i do for security patches and improvements in stability but if yours is working okay it isn't totally necessary unless you have security concerns

If you download multiple updates on the flash drive then plug it into the mother board. Will the motherboard go through all of them or do you have to flash each update separately?
I'm currently working with this motherboard on my new mid gaming build and after some issues getting it to actually power on, my issue now is the Red CPU LED lit up on the motherboard, I'm going down the list of solutions from videos like this and if you'd like I can update once I figure out what's causing the issue, it's been a long time since building a PC and my OCD mind has me thinking that there may be something dirtying the CPU connectors which are gold plates so after I double check and clean it all with Isopropyl alcohol hopefully can share some good news
@mikesunboxing yes I have, I took a friend's advice and after cleaning the cpu which didn't appear dirty and had no bent pins or anything the cpu light was on with only the cpu in the motherboard, so I started connecting everything else individually to see if there was any change tried each ram stick in each memory slot both individually and paired, reconnected the GPU, then the SATA SSD, tried different pin connectors for all the fans , have the cpu fan connected and 3 system fans, needless to say I have looked over the entire build configuration and can confirm 100% nothing is out of place, other things I've tried; -Took cmos battery out and reset the bios via the connectors -Tried the reset button underneath the 24 pin connectors -followed this guide to update by q flash for the latest bios version Still, all I have is powering on with the Red CPU LED and nothing displaying on the monitor, I've tried all hdmi and display port outputs but nothing shows

@@mikesunboxing Update: I got the B650e version of this and it supports all 7000 series CPUs out of box, I didn't even go into the bios. I swapped everything over and after the memory training, it booted right up into all my same settings and OS. I also didn't need to change any bios settings to boot on the proper M.2 drive that runs my OS.

Hi, Mike. I'm curious as to way you always flash the BIOS with the Q-Flash button, and not in the BIOS as I always do.
Lots of people can’t access the bios so it makes sense to start at the very basic low level, this is becoming more important as amd are releasing more and more am4 parts that even the freshest motherboard stock won’t be ready for.
The same will be happening later this year for the 9000 series on am5
It worked! Really easy to follow along! Thank you!

Good clear video, seems so easy! lol.. Thank you.

One question, I have the b650m x ax, I have the old BIOS version, should I update one at a time or get the latest one?
You should be able to go straight to the newest one
What do the different revision versions indicate? Is it a reference to the age of the board or anything like that?
Yes and sometimes component changes
Thanks though, I found Gigabyte's own manual a bit confusing, yours was much easier to follow.
thanks and hopew that all is well now
One Question, which, Software do i have to choose, when i have the Gigabyte B650 Gaming x AX v2 Rev 1.0, because on the gegabyte website there are no revision numbers.

download the driver on a usb stick from another computer and then put the download on the new pc desktop and run it from there
I admit to being perplexed.
did you extract the bios file before renaming it? you didn't mention it, but it is an important step in the process
@@mikesunboxing thans for your reply! Yes of course. But I found the problem... the usb flash drive itself! It works perfectly under Windows but not for a bios flash it seems =)

I downloaded some GCC updates and when my pc restarted the DRAM light was on and there was no connection to monitor/keyboard/mouse.
I've read online to flash my bios but I'm not sure how that would work if the monitor/keyboard/mouse aren't connected.

if it is working fine and you are happy with it don't update it. updates are usually bug fixes and security patches, with the occasional new cpu compatibility. If you aren't concerned with any of those and your system works, like i said leave it alone
Muy bien explicado.

install the chipset drivers and the wifi drivers from the gigabyte site that will sort out the wifi issue. update the bios if you like, i do for security patches and improvements in stability but if yours is working okay it isn't totally necessary unless you have security concerns

I'm currently working with this motherboard on my new mid gaming build and after some issues getting it to actually power on, my issue now is the Red CPU LED lit up on the motherboard, I'm going down the list of solutions from videos like this and if you'd like I can update once I figure out what's causing the issue, it's been a long time since building a PC and my OCD mind has me thinking that there may be something dirtying the CPU connectors which are gold plates so after I double check and clean it all with Isopropyl alcohol hopefully can share some good news
checked the EPS power connections?
@mikesunboxing yes I have, I took a friend's advice and after cleaning the cpu which didn't appear dirty and had no bent pins or anything the cpu light was on with only the cpu in the motherboard, so I started connecting everything else individually to see if there was any change tried each ram stick in each memory slot both individually and paired, reconnected the GPU, then the SATA SSD, tried different pin connectors for all the fans , have the cpu fan connected and 3 system fans, needless to say I have looked over the entire build configuration and can confirm 100% nothing is out of place, other things I've tried;
-Took cmos battery out and reset the bios via the connectors
-Tried the reset button underneath the 24 pin connectors
-followed this guide to update by q flash for the latest bios version
Still, all I have is powering on with the Red CPU LED and nothing displaying on the monitor, I've tried all hdmi and display port outputs but nothing shows
