I don't know if you're still reading these comments, but I just wanted to say thanks. I'd have struggled to do this on my own. You're a scholar and a gentleman.
Over a year later and this guide still works like a charm! Thank you so much for making this video! I have the exact same board referenced in this vide (Gigabyte B650I Aorus Ultra Rev 1.0) with a much newer BIOS version F31 pre-installed. I have built a few PCs but have never updated the BIOS out of fear of bricking the mobo. Happy to say I just got done successfully updating to version F33e (literally came out 1 week before posting this) by following these very simple steps! Thanks again!
I opened the PDF just for laughs and I was like naaahhh you can just select the file FROM within the BIOS itself (assuming you have the flash drive with newer file in already) and do it from there. TBH new users can get terrified if they see that PDF 🤣 Thanks for this simple but very clear video, even if I'm over a year late to the party 😉
Make sure you have the correct revision of motherboard, it should say somewhere on the bottom left corner of the board, had me stumped all day 😅 but do not overlook this!
Bro thank you so much man. Was having issues on my new build. I had lots of memory issues since waking up from a 3 month coma and I will this video helped me so much plus now am updating the bios now and did it step by step. Thank you much
So this is just a question for bios. Does the latest file have all the previous file features when I do a bio update? This will be the first time I’ve ever done a bio update on a motherboard. I’m just asking because I don’t want to keep updating previous files, updates onto the motherboard. And I’m asking this question because I am an autistic individual. So I want to have all the relevant information. Question and fully available. I hope this is fully explained?
Flashing as a troubleshooting step to try and fix some system instability. No clue if it'll help yet, but thanks for the easy walkthrough to make it less painful
Thanks for the content brother. I kept having issues with my pc since the last Nvidia update back in Sept and I couldn't figure out why. So I randomly decided to see if I need to update the bios and I did, surprise surprise. But I also didn't update the bios since I built my pc back in 2020. And now that it's updated, its running smooth af
I learned the hard way that you basically HAVE to use a USB-2.0 thumb drive of less than 32 GB or it simply won't work. For some reason I had to dig thoroughly through many resources till I discovered this. It's actually a massive detail that get's left out a lot. I also have a Gigabyte motherboard, it's the B650 Aorus Elite AX (rev 1.1). I tried using a USB-C drive since my only other computer is a Mac and I kept getting the infamous "BIOS ID check error" when I tried flashing. I even bought an adapter for the USB-C dive and had partitioned a 16 GB (FAT32) file system - no matter what I did, it refused to flash. I did double check whether it was the right bios too, trust.
The motherboard and my ram ( last item needed to build my new computer ) have finally arrived at the nearest parcel center; maybe I will receive them in a few hours:D I started to invest more than a year ago with a box, usb key, fan and power supply; and unfortunately ram ( DDR4 ) on sale with an SSD nvme, soon after but having not yet chosen the processor it was a bad idea. a few months ago the processor ( 7950x :D ) I’m so excited xd
At 3:42 the first time I did mine my pc shut down before I got to click reboot and wouldn't turn back on. So I flicked the psu off and on and re did it and it worked fine. Can anybody tell me what this what about and was it normal? Because it was VERY SCARY.
@ 2:31 you said you need a blank thumb drive. but you need a bootable thumb drive, right? so that is another process to populate the stick with bootable bits first?
Great video! Thanks for your work! I have this motherboard and after updating to the latest F9 it has a new UI. It looks nice but i cant find anything yet.
They said its not recommend to update beta bios and just update the non beta, I've updated my bios to beta and I want to downgrade my bios to a non beta. But everything is working. Should I downgrade to non beta or just leave it?
Hey mate, great video. Unfortunately whenever I try to update my Bios (B550 Gaming X AX) I click the reboot button and then it's just a black screen and the Dram light stays on. Any idea why this is happening?
when i downloaded the zip and extract it to my usb it wasnt in a file its 2 documents but when i click on either of them my computer asks me how i want to open this file. is it fine to proceed to bios or do i need to do another step?
Hello, thanks again for this informative video. If I can, let me ask you something, does this motherboard (B650I AORUS ULTRA) have WiFi and LAN Drivers pre-installed so that I can download the new motherboard update from the same computer or do I need to have them on a USB Drive before building the new PC?
Comes with none of those drivers. Bit of a pain but yeah, be prepared to get those setup with another device After which it would help getting driver easy if you're lazy like me and it'll grab everything else from there
well, followed your instructions and after the first boot, display is gone and vga popped out on motherboard, I don't know what is going on. still running and its been 20 minute or so. what should i do.
Idk what I'm doing wrong. I have the right cpu for my board. All things are plugged but I'm stuck at test because nothing will power on to open bios. I check my cpu, it's fine. Everything's plugged in my mobo has integrated graphics but I get nothing. And I know power is on because when I hit the qflash button it blinks on for second. According to gigabyte I don't need an bios update.... this has held me up for HOURS
There are three revisions of this board, 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2. Make sure you're downloading for the correct board revision. The version number is printed on the bottom left of the board. It's also on a sticker on the side of the box.
I can't get it to run at all. Just bought 7950x3D and I'm on F8 bios version. I can get into the BIOS - but if I insert the USB into the BIOS USB it doesn't recognize an inserted drive. When I insert it in the red 3.2 USBs it shows me the EFI drive with the update file F21. I start QFlash and it works fine until I get to the point it needs to reboot because of "Secureflash". And then nothing happens. It's constantly captured in the BIOS boot cycle. I also can't install windows from my other USB drive. It worked flawlessly 6 weeks ago on an MSI board. 🤷🏻♂️ I'm really disappointed. Such an expensive motherboard and I've seen quite a few people having trouble with it.
Edit: I even tried QFlash plus. Doesn't do crap either....brand new motherboard - got it delivered today. Pressed the reset button on the MB itself. Changed te BIOs settings to default. Using a 8gb Fat32 stick. I'm really at the end of my wisdom - don't what else to do. 😩

Mad satisfied with how you showed everything I needed to see. You showed that spooky PDF I almost fainted at how “made to my standards” this is. Bravo

Yep mine is revision 1.2 but the first results are for 1.0 and 1.1
You’re a real one for that
wow thank you i definitely overlooked this i was so confused
It's also on the side of the box.
I wasted 1hr on this lol. Good thing I saw this
Make sure your USB stick has FAT32 file system. Mine was NTFS and I spent hours trying to figure out why it wasnt showing in the Q Flash.
Says that on the Gigabyte instructions.
Thanks bro
Hasnt mattered for me as long as its on the right USB slot, doesnt need to be the BIOS slot, but some slots are not recognised in BIOS
Yeah he missed that important piece of advice !
Just want to say i just built my first gaming PC, all from watching your videos. Thank you.
Nice. Hope I helped out then!
