    Apart from the BTEC subject for joining, my other reason for opting in such a course is due to the adoption of coursework, which has almost been completely eradicated from in GCSE and A-levels. In my opinion, coursework is superior as opposed to standardised testing as it is better at displaying what a student has learnt as well as handwork ability, yet most of all , it isn't heavily reliant on memorisation which I simply am not able at. This is why I haven't chose A-levels.

      Personally, in my opinion BTECs are pretty solid, I don't really like course work but I think they teach you valuable skills for university such as citation. However I think having exams are pretty solid so BTECs having some exams are pretty good as they help me actually bother to memorise the material and study it. So right now the mix of it is great.

    Foundation year courses are very accepting of btecs for medicine courses and dentistry (there’s only about three for dentistry?) I checked with Leicester on WDTK and I noticed all the BTEC students that applied were not given an interview because of low GCSE points but one factor that opened up an interview for an applicant was their ucat score! Still very competitive though since they have less seats compared to the A100.

    Btec level 3 applied science - year 1 mandatory unit 1 & unit 3 exams - 5 papers. Year 2 mandatory exams unit 7 - 5 days of exams + unit 5 - separate chemistry, biology and physics papers. Plus tons of assignments. It is challenging.

    BTEC Level 3 is equivalent to A levels in points. Not the difficulty. Exams are much more harder than coursework.

      1:17 There are compulsory external exams in the btec level 3 national diploma Applied science in both year 1 and year 2. At the end of year 2 the there is a chemistry exam, biology exam, physics exam. The contemporary issues exam is spread over 6 hours - involving 3 sessions carrying out research under external exam supervised conditions and the 4th session being the written exam based on the research carried out. It's tough going.

      @@elizabeththompson3124i mean dont get me wrong its still difficult i mean i would struggle myself honestly but i feel like i could have a chance with btec level 3 rather than a levels to be fair a levels i wouldnt get anything but with btec i would still be able to get something done if that makes sense

    What subject was your btec and where did you do it like it university or college or sixth form because I do 3 btecs in sixth form and it has 12 units and yours had 18?

      He said in another video that he did an extended diploma in applied science. Extended diplomas are one btec that is equivalent to 3 a levels and has 18 mandatory units

      @@user-dt4sf4nk2bi think that’s only if it’s a triple qualification . There are also single and double qualifications meaning that you can study an A level alongside it or another btec

    Yeah good thinking.
    I'm doing BTEC level 2 applied sciences alongside English and maths at the age of 18 now.
    Can I do A-levels (at the age of 19) if get D*D*D* in BTEC level 2? or I'll have to do BTEC level 3 (not a good idea as you said) instead as I want to join medicine.

      I believe you can do a levels above the age of 18 but once u turn 20 you have to pay for yourself I’m 18 starting my alevels .

    • @AryanDariush
      @AryanDariush  2 роки тому +2

      It will be tricky doing A-levels at the age of 19/20 because you will have to self fund it but it’s definitely a good idea to do A-levels if you want to do medicine.

      What’s the difference between level 2 and level 3 applied science?

    • @Moughees02
      @Moughees02 2 роки тому +1

      @@HazalAxy Basically level 2 is equivalent to (1) gcses and level 3 is equivalent to a levels but gcses and a levels are more traditional education processes here in the UK and accepted by top unis. As I came from Pakistan so I wasn't able to go on the normal path 😅 as of my age... But by passing time they are getting really popular *you should also look into T-levels.
      Did BTEC level 2 app.science and now this starting year BTEC level 3 will be my pathway to the university...
      Long reply but hope it helps 😅
