Politicians can be replaced by technology. Mandatory direct democracy is is possible for example. Or even AI ‘politicians’ that follow popular opinion on policy. All of politics can be automated, the only caveat being the security and integrity of the system in the face of hackers etc. however, given the corruption of the existing political system, I think this issue can be mitigated more easily than what we are working with now.

this guy was waaaaaay ahead of his time, i wonder what he thinks of the new grocery store robot that goes around like a roomba and when detects spills starts beeping so an employee can come clean it up
They no longer beep for someone to come clean up the spill. The robot now cleans the spill itself. It's an automatic floor scrubber. Replacing the janitor that used to have to drive it.
The way that some people can think and speak at the same time impresses me. I like to believe that I "think before I speak" when reacting to someone else's statements, but to be able to monologue coherent and logical theories in real time, it just blows my mind. Especially how young this man appears!
This is someone that people look at and wonder if there's something wrong with him. But in reality everyone is insane and he looks at it as a normal person should
They showed when they put a group of Asperger people together they communicate better and on a higher level then regular people, and funnily enough if you put a "normal" person into the group they have many of the communication problems that the the Aspergers people are generally know as having. If the ratio's of Aspergers to normal people were reversed, Aspergers people would be "normal" and would on average actually be better at communicating with other, "normal" aspergers people. And given the character traits people with Asperger generally express I wouldn't be surprised if the world was much better off.
Erik Fok that logic doesnt make sense. The word insane is built upon the fact that someone thinks in a way not natural to other people. It isnt possible for the majority of people to be insane even if our ideals are dumb, if everyones ideas were dumb then the person with smarter ideas would be considered insane.

What a brilliant concept! Never thought about it like that! You are absolutely right! I see people working extra jobs even when they don't need to just to afford things they don't need to. When they get a raise of a better paying job, they go and buy bigger house, new car, and start spending extra. Now instead of working less and enjoying their free time more they feel the need to work more just to afford things they didn't need in the first place. It is kind like unemployment crisis

Honestly, you can tell that this guy is truly intelligent. I'm sure he has no commerce background but explained the concept of a defferred expenditure perfectly with his grocery store example. Generally when people come up with their own ideas you'd find a lot of logical gaps but with him.. when you look at things from his perspective i.e from the perspective of an idealist you'd understand that his logic is flawless. Hope he comes back.
His logic was not flawless, He's saying EVERYONE will provide for each other, that means, EVERYONE WILL HAVE A JOB. While saying so many jobs are pointless and we should just eliminate them. WHILE SAYING replace them with AI. WHILE SAYING nobody should be allow to progress and be a 1%, because if you become a 1% that means you can abuse this system and not work while forcing people into whatever Labor you want.
One of the flaws I have a problem with is the innovative aspect. I understand that this guy thinks that innovations like the newest phone are more harm than good (I can partially agree with that), but innovations in the medical field are very beneficial for people. And while some innovations will still be made with this reduced hours/covering basic needs idea, it would be severely slowed down. People won't have an economical incentive to innovate because in this "perfect society" he described, there's a lot more focus on enjoying life rather than working for a nicer life. The reason I believe people will still innovate though is the fact that some people love what they do and they love a good puzzle. However, I believe that even with these natural innovators, we'd still fall behind in the health field and we'll see a significant decrease in life expectancy. However, I do respect his idea, it's just unrealistic... and it would almost certainly require several communist-inspired laws to get to that point. The only feasible way I could see it not requiring such laws is if like a hundred million workers around the US refuse to work unless companies agree to shorten hours and invest immensely into technology... but that would probably crash the economy due to the amount of businesses that would have to shutdown.
The problem with companies introducing these types of systems, reducing hours, paying more is that the company has to be willing to lose money for it. While there is no net loss (besides the initial cost) when comparing the earnings before to after automation has been introduced, we all know that companies would see wage adjustments as a loss and thus wouldn't go forward with them if it makes more sense monetarily to cut jobs/stagnate wages to increase their overall profit. Companies don't care about morals, they care about the bottom line, and making any less money then what they could potentially earn is seen as a problem to them.
Another thing to note is inflation, simply raising everyone's pay just drives down the value of a dollar. If the top 0.1 Percent we're to just randomly use all their money they would completely crash the U.S. economy. Not saying that greed isn't a factor though, just we're not really sure how an "economy" like this could survive.
Not true, companies only make money because their employees work, they rack in way more then is needed why employees constantly struggle and when struggle is to much they replace em like robots meant for their benefit alone
The strong should care for the weak and help support their growth cause your only as strong as your weakest link, equality, instead they seem themselves as superior and selfishness and greed consume them along with apathy wich is every sign your serving Satan instead of god...it's a lack of empathy and selfish greed that allows poverty to exist...period and a fact
good point. microeconomists and business analysts would reasonably see no reason to take an action that will reduce their net profit. At the end of the day, every socioeconomic ideology has intrinsic drawbacks; for capitalism, it's an emphasis on profit which oftentimes comes at the expense of the rights of the working class. Justice frequently becomes a subordinate priority, especially in a society where healthcare is commodified.

Dude, you are just pure genius. The way your brain has taken the world in is just different. Your conclusions are so simple and effective it’s unreal… After years this video still sits true 🙏
My mind has drifted over handful of ideas which have been discussed in this guy's videos, but I've never really looked at them in such depth. Great insights.
we should all have the freedom to live our lives the way we want, without worrying about bills and stuff, the world and its resources should be available to everyone, not owned by a few. We could create our own communities and live peacefully without being controlled by politicians or leaders. It's like a call to wake up and see the truth instead of being tricked into some kind matrix.
I'd like to see a "Part 2" to this video where he further discusses this economic model to describe how people will be able to maintain a modern standard of living. In our current economy, a chronically unemployed person eventually becomes homeless.
***** He's talking about the system we live in. In the system we live in, a capitalist society, high unemployment rates are detrimental for survival rates and standards of living. But in a post-capitalist society where technology frees human beings from tedious and overly laborious jobs, high unemployment is a good thing. But I'm sure you realize that, you just wanted to get your racial jabs in.
***** I don't find this conversation interesting. Sorry, I won't be replying. But I will say this, I didn't think what you said was racist. I just don't think that my race or anyone else's condition who looks like me had anything to do with the post and therefore should've never been mentioned. That is why I deemed it "racial" and not "racist." There is a difference.
***** so your goal was to attack a person based on their profile pic? Well all I can say based off your last paragraph: People like you are the problem in the UA-cam community, people who rather than look at the content of a person's post would attach their race.
***** The thing I don't understand with you Libertarian folk is why you see Marxistst/communists as born evil and out to destroy the world? You could say the same thing about the other side perceive libertarians too.
He has almost flawless logic and reasoning, and I agree with his argument. The problem? he is way too idealistic. Companies are greedy. (some!) Schools do a poor job of educating students due to lack of government investing in schools. It is getting harder to get a job out of high school/college that can actually support you. All of this is related to capitalist ideas. Not promoting any ideology here, but something needs to change fast.
I agree, there is no problem with the need for more jobs, I live in Ireland and there is a huge drop im employment because of a "job seekers allowance" called Dole, and although people who may have the inability to work use it, a lot of perfectly eligible people use it too INSTEAD of work because it's ongoing and available to everyone who applies. There is definitely an issue here in my country, but also when you mention the possibe replacement of certain jobs with technology, the free time people have will most likely be occupied with OTHER employment, and if not that then possibly boredom with an unfulfilled life could lead to mentality issues. I understand you're point, but have you any suggestions for a replacement for unemployed people rather than employed?
This isn’t exactly complex stuff, Karl Marx predicted all of these things happening in our world, maybe you should read him. I would start with value, price and profit then wage labor and capital. Next state and revolution by Lenin and then women race and class by Angela Davis. All are very important books to make you conscious of the capitalist world around us
Look up Peter Josephs works. The Zeitgeist Movies, Culture in Decline, Interreflections. He breaks down everything this guy is saying further down in technical terms and outlines something called a resourced based economy. Its amazing stuff. I highly encourage you to watch his movies and videos and share with your friends.
I've worked for over two decades in the "Technology Industry"- along with a few hundred co-workers, developing, creating, and maintaining the "amazing technology" you spout about..... Even if I had so much money I didn't have to work... I'd still work... because I love the job I do. I know that a government that would provide for all your needs will also control everything you do- so I'm not interested in your view of "utopia".... sounds like PRISON to me...
I’ve been going through this guys channel for about two hours now and I say that this video very strongly stands out to me because I’ve had this thought of if everyone worked to support eachother, a lot and I mean a lot of the world’s problems involving money would be gone. Never really found someone who thought along theses lines in my life, but now I have. we have to understand that the leaders of our world from long ago till date have created us to think about us and only and us and money increases that urge to focus on just ourselves. However if we lived in a society where the main achievement of life was to work for the ones around us and not just for ourselves we would thrive much more in ways that go even just beyond work. Because if we lived in this reality now we have a state of mind that says you need me as much as I need you. but sadly the human race is to self centered
For the grocery store analogy, it is about greed. Reducing hours and increasing pay means less money for the chain, therefore they don'y do that, and end up just firing the extra people and averaging out the workload over less people. So, those few people simply get a raise, and the rest- whoops, now unemployed. That stacks up exponentially over every store in the world and we DO end up having an unemployment crisis. I get your drift, and your lobby is very logical, but the greed of business owners makes this plan inconceivable to me.
See, that's the real issue. IF they were better at being greedy, they would know how much it would actually be beneficial for THEM by setting people free from this infinitesimally miserable work paradigm.
Strictly from a philosophical point of view, analyzing the whole of society with a small community will never work. Additionally, this very conundrum is they key reason why the most intelligent and well-rounded individuals "converted" to communism in the 20th century.
xkcdHatGuy At one point my local store DID replace all of the cashiers with machines and profit went down significantly. The had to convert back to human cashiers as many people prefer to talk to other people, and were beginning to go to the other grocery store instead.
It isnt necessarily about greed. Thats a silly word in of itself and is essentially just politicized. Its not "greed" of business owners, its a system where business owners see no other choice but to lower wages or fire people because maintaining a business in this system is too costly to have that many workers. Not all businesses are good but not all are greedy either.
Honestly this is what I realised about this world when I was a teenager but everyone thinks I'm mad or selfish for "not wanting to work", whenever I tell people this. This whole world centered around useless 'work' is a joke.
What no you fucking idiot. He’s alive rn he has a podcast. Just because a guy has been inactive on UA-cam doesn’t mean he got abducted by the government stfu
So basically because nobody needs to work since technology has taken over all of the jobs, we would all be free to have what ever hobby we wanted. The only "job" that would be absolutely necessary would be having technicians around to fix machines when they are unable to fix themselves. Of course, those people wouldnt need pay either because theyre real geeks and enjoy that sort of thing. You would also want human therapists. Cool. So that means it would no longer be money that was the motive, or a fear of poverty. It would be rushing to make sure that nothing in the system falls out of place and a fear of having to take the place of robots and restart the old economy. I would definitely make a movie on this topic. Human nature is really fascinating when it comes to things like these. As of right now, it has prevented the economy from becoming this developed.
Greed will steal away these bright futures because we as a society place value into the wrong things. Hope your intelligence did not draw in the attentions of those too greedy for their own good. The world needs people like you in their place and they fear it.
The problem is no one is willing to work for someone else's food. The reason we have our current system is because like it or not, we have a lot of people who are not willing to work for their own food, children's food etc...
+bryce e In the world we live in today, we have to test the people for what they want. If they can't fight for it, you don't survive. It's very simple, yet hard to agree with.
+bryce e It's a combination of lazy people ruining the system, and greedy people ruining the system. No one should get free money for sitting at home playing X-Box, but what if they spent their time pursuing scholarly endeavors to help humanity and our planet as a whole? We are being held back by this system and it's destroying us. What if we taxed the rich solely for education for those who can't afford it? Wouldn't that be a good use of the extra money they have? That way the lazy people don't benefit from free money without doing work in some way, and rich people give back part of the wealth they're hording.
Thats a pretty good way to put it, I like that. The only issue is politicians believe a solution has to be complicated. Many of our government programs bring more downfalls than benefits.
+matornot I agree on most of your points, but the people sitting at home playing X-box will not spend their time pursuing scholarly endeavors to help humanity. It is simply a matter on whether or not they deserve to be funded.
+bryce e Then they blame Mexicans for taking jobs. like what the crap man, we're taking jobs people didn't want, have you ever seen a white construction worker who wasn't the head of the operation.
To be honest, as a human we have terrible wants and essential needs. Our wants are to dominate over each other which means we would never have a society where anyone would be happy.
@@oku12 I won’t fight you for having an opinion, buuuuuut if you were to count what political leaders and people with any real power do, it’s no wonder why people still live in poverty in certain parts of the world. Not a lot of people really want world domination, but it’s common to have power hungry geriatric men rule the world because it’s people prefer to divide against each other than to hold their leaders accountable.
The more I think about intelligence the more I realize that intelligence humanity has is really just a burden for most of the people. They just work in their nine to five jobs, get home, dont do anything productive or anything that will help them progress either physically or mentally and just do this till they are old enough to retire. Most people do not realize how much of a potential humanity has. Of course few people used this in their advantage and thats why there are such a few people with much more property or money than 99% of people has. People need to understand that there is no need to fight eachother, we are intelligent enough ( in theory ) to make such a utopian living, but materialism overall just cant let it through. You have so many business guides, tutorials and what not from most successful of people, but you dont see most of the people getting further. How is that possible? Thats just natural selection at its finest. That is advantage and at the same time disadvantage of current regime, capitalism. You just have to work hard and have some luck to get to a point, where you dont really need to progress so live a happy live. But dont think of me as an anti-capitalist. I think most of the regimes ( of course not counting the extreme ones ) has pros and cons, and humanity has quiet an experience with so many types of regimes, but its only on us, to select the best and get rid off the worst of these regimes, and get to a level, where everyone is happy, where there is utopia.
It's depressing to see his young intelligent mind notice and intake what capitalism really is but its even worse bc he missed the greed part. Greedy is why we don't do what he's saying. Greed on the rich people's part and blindness on our part
This person is incredible we need more ppl on earth with these intelligents we need to wake up . I actually think this is the most aware multi dimensional person I have come across ❤
No. He's talking about a resource based economy, which is a silly idea. Switzerland is just doing that because they have a huge amount of mechanization in he workplace in proportion to its population.
+Pierre Bonhomme If you are refering to the idea of the unconditional basic income, let me tell you: We are definitely not doing that in Switzerland! I don't where you've read this, but it has not even been seriously discussed. There was a vote in the parliament about it but about 90% declined the idea. And as far as I know, the swiss people think similarly
Okay, then I demand that jobs being created overseas be brought back to North America until people start to demand that we don't need those jobs. A temporary solution that goes toward a longer goal.
And you demand that how? Companies and corporations don't recognize a country, only the world as a whole. You cant demand a company employ people unless you live in a dictatorship of course.
Are you kidding? They don't see the world at all, all they see is profit and themselves in their own tiny bubble. Laws can be passed to require corporations to hire a certain amount of a domestic work force ultimately benefiting domestic economies. Also, it's a hypothetical ultimatum. You don't seem to understand what discussion is being had here.
sdgundum990 "all they see is profit and themselves" this is true of course. You can pass as many laws as you like but if a company doesn't want it it sets up somewhere else, as they do now. I'd like to know how you can demand that a corporation moves to the USA?

They no longer beep for someone to come clean up the spill. The robot now cleans the spill itself. It's an automatic floor scrubber. Replacing the janitor that used to have to drive it.
The way that some people can think and speak at the same time impresses me. I like to believe that I "think before I speak" when reacting to someone else's statements, but to be able to monologue coherent and logical theories in real time, it just blows my mind. Especially how young this man appears!
This is someone that people look at and wonder if there's something wrong with him. But in reality everyone is insane and he looks at it as a normal person should
Yup true
They showed when they put a group of Asperger people together they communicate better and on a higher level then regular people, and funnily enough if you put a "normal" person into the group they have many of the communication problems that the the Aspergers people are generally know as having. If the ratio's of Aspergers to normal people were reversed, Aspergers people would be "normal" and would on average actually be better at communicating with other, "normal" aspergers people. And given the character traits people with Asperger generally express I wouldn't be surprised if the world was much better off.
LegoSwordViedos this sounds really interesting, any chance you could send the study's journal or a video about it?

The only feasible way I could see it not requiring such laws is if like a hundred million workers around the US refuse to work unless companies agree to shorten hours and invest immensely into technology... but that would probably crash the economy due to the amount of businesses that would have to shutdown.
he has another account, he lost the password to this one
It's greed period

"it makes unemployment a bad thing instead of a good thing." Brilliant quote really.
*****
He's talking about the system we live in.

All of this is related to capitalist ideas.

Todd Standard
I suspect the real reason is that many people (especially older people) are scared of technology and also scared of change.
Well you’ve gotta work, if you don’t you become lazy and can’t do anything.

+bryce e Then they blame Mexicans for taking jobs.
like what the crap man,
we're taking jobs people didn't want, have you ever seen a white construction worker who wasn't the head of the operation.
Never say never. Having a system that brings out the worst in humanity doesn't make sense either.
