    Kid..I'm 48 yrs old..and this is NOT the only video of yours I've watched. It gives me peace of mind to know that there are actually young people like yourself out there in society. I commend and praise you for your knowledge, intellect and insight. Its going to be young people like yourself that will carry this nation into the future, a future thats scary due to the fact that the majority of people in your age are consumed with so much superficial crap. If you ran for President tomorrow..you would have my vote!

      That's not the truth. His first premise is Absolutely Wrong, "What is the goal of being a Millionaire or Billionaire". Rich people don't get rich by trying to be rich. The wealth is just a byproduct of their goal to create and innovate. Without actually creating a product or service that people want and need, you never can become rich.

    I came here by watching a insta reel where he was claimed to be smart as isaac Newton so to understand the real matter I saw the comment and got to know that he used to explain 4th dimension and then he disappeared. So my curiosity went on it's peak and i quickly searched him up then the vdo in which he was explaining the fourth dimension popped up and he was literally explaining everything in a way that I watched it untill the end I was a little shocked that the vdo is 13yrs old , and as the comments were about him being disappeared I checked his channel and saw a random vdo (it's this vdo ,i am writing this comment on) and I saw something really really really unexpected thing , which was the "statue of lord Shiva in the background" then I checked the comments if there's someone who already had noticed that but no it's only me and I am the first person here wow.

    This concept still applies today, and I see people everywhere not acknowledging it or questioning how realistic becoming extremely wealthy is. Everyone I know's goal is to become very rich. Dude, I think just like this. The only thing most people want is to become a millionaire. Live in a big house, and maybe have a few kids to part their wealth to upon death, yadda yadda yadda, etc. This is why I want to become an inventor and experience things no man has ever experienced. I don't want to depend on all these material things for self-validation and "happiness". There's an infinite amount of things we have yet to perceive or discover. This civilization it's so primitive, Yet people are so accepting of their physical and mental limitations. Not content with them, But go through their entire life with this mentality. Genetics, Status, Etc. These things are the stones that cause humanity as whole to sink into the abyss of boredom. My dream one day is to be able to see the world like geniuses of past ages have.

    I think this pursuit to climb that economic ladder is one of the things that create conflict which he was talking about in another video, how our society is so dependant on it. People overall are trying to pursue something that doesn't matter in the long run, and most of the people pursue it because our society made it so that money is the main thing you need to satisfy your needs. And you're never going to be able to live humbly and in harmony with others in a world like this, unless everybody changes and starts thinking the same all of a sudden. Guys,
    He seems to have leftist thoughts. marxist or communist. (Talking about actual communism, not Bolshevik version of it) To clarify things, I'm 17, I'm national liberal, right-centre. In my opinion, He is clever and he has ability to explain things in the way, most of people can understand him. This is a big talent. Now about ideologies. I think, socialist utopia is actual distopia as you are stuck despite what you can do. Limiting people from reaching high levels is directly limiting them to use their creativity. Main motivator is concurrention and killing concurrention because "people shouldn't be thinking about money" is killing development. Just to get clear, without Cold War we wouldn't have such good tech. This was the result of concurrention. I don't say we should still have wars, we just need HEALTHY capitalist concurrention. Corruption and monopoly is number one killer and before someone says monopoly is only in capitalism, I am sorry, but NO! Socialist governments have monopoly on production, this is their way of economics. Government should only regulate the quality of production and such things. Not how high the person can reach on the ladder. Leftism is against human nature, because it seriously lacks of concurrention. People shouldn't be blinded with money, but forbidding them to reach some levels of success is path to authoritarianism. The best way to have as many people employed as possible is helping new businesses grow, not killing them "to not reach too high levels".
    P.S. My family doesn't own any businesses. I'm capitalist, because I believe it's fair and good system.
    By the way, I'm from Georgia 🇬🇪, country in Europe.

    • @payasoinfeliz
      @payasoinfeliz Рік тому

      "Limiting people from reaching high levels" Capitalists do exactly this all the time. You don't maximize profits by avoiding monopolization.
      You are a not a capitalist unless you fit the definition: "a wealthy person who uses money to invest in trade and industry for profit in accordance with the principles of capitalism."

    • @georgej1150
      @georgej1150 Рік тому +1

       @payasoinfeliz When socialist government makes you to stuck on the same level of life forever is limiting people form reaching high levels. Let's take an example: If Elon Musk lived in the socialist state, he wouldn't be able to do all those crazy cool researches, just because general secretary of central committee (or any government head) would take it too risky (actually it was too risky in terms of money) and they would decline his projects.
      Investing to profit is right thing. You risk with investing. You risk the money your money to profit from it, but you don't know whether you will profit from it or not. Investing is a risk and profit is the reward of it.

    This is very true, society has built a materialistic view on what happiness originates from, happiness resonates from within and contributes to the outer world, even cosmically. Money has nothing to do with happiness it is only a form of control over what one has tangible to a life form rather than focus on the essence of this intangible connection we so desire for our universe.

  • @SFO14
    @SFO14 9 років тому +224

    I think the word you're seeking here is *contentment*
    I don't know many people in the West that are content at all. They're either in a state of mania because they're brainwashed by their corporate culture in to believing they should be thankful for their amazing opportunity, and any day now they'll hit it big.
    Then you have those that seem to be happy, have some wealth, but they're not REALLY happy because the only thing that makes them happy is the accumulation of more wealth - they come off as somewhat entitled.
    Then you have 40-50% of the population that's just kinda pissed. They know the system is rigged, they'll never really make it, but they still sort of hope. They are typically labeled welfare losers, socialists & communists, or attacked using some other ad hominem.
    So it begs the question: why the fuck do we do this to ourselves?

    • @theelmitts9253
      @theelmitts9253 9 років тому +12

      Quite. I suppose it is because we are born into this....culture, this resentment, this drive to succeed financially. It's interesting as the poorest areas of the world are often the happiest. But note, that is often around the equator, free from drugs ridden areas and sunny, but most of all free from the grasping hand of money in surrounding areas. Places like Detroit and north London and poor and miserable, because they are aware of the lack of money. It leaves one to wonder....

    • @GatheringStorrm
      @GatheringStorrm 9 років тому +13

      +SFO14 I find your comment to be a simple rephrasing of HatGuy's words, but here's why I prefer his more:
      The way you worded things, you suggested that almost everyone (in America, let's say. I'm an Australian), is pissed at the system and aware of the way things are going but only to a limited extent, this being the reason for the small amount of hope they have. In this case they're only 10-15% better then the brainwashed maniacs.
      So this brings us to your question, why do we do this to ourselves? Well, if what you proposed above is true, it's because we have to. You've got the wealthy people who'll never be content because they want more money, the brainwashed maniacs trying hopelessly and maybe making it into the wealthy 5% but not really getting anywhere in terms of happiness, and then the 10-15% of the pop who're better then the maniacs but still retaining the individualistic/materialistic ideals HatGuy mentioned.
      In that case there is no solution. Nothing will change. We're stuck.
      So I guess I'm saying your comment could be a little more open-minded in its phrasing.
      So the answer is we don't have to, we just need to change our mentalities and ideals, and work up to the point we can do what we're passionate about. Because if we keep bashing our heads against the same brick wall over and over again we won't be happy in life.

    • @SFO14
      @SFO14 9 років тому +3

      DarkSaborComa
      *we just need to change our mentalities and ideals*
      100% agree. The reason I chose to single out the West (and particularly the USA) is because it's the wealthiest country on the planet, yet levels of "contentment" are low compared to less wealthy countries (see: Denmark, Switzerland, Iceland, etc.)
      There is a reason for lower levels of contentment. Marketing, advertising and market sentiment play a big part. I guess I should say "mass ad campaigns and marketing targeted directly to consumers" rather than "brainwashed". I don't think that's commonly practiced in many other nations.
      IMO, this adds to the mania/hysteria. It is the most heavily medicated country on the planet after all.

    • @SubtleDemonGaming
      @SubtleDemonGaming 8 років тому +12

      Its not that we do this to ourselves. It is forced upon us. I am sure that you any of us that live in america chooses to be this way. When you live in america, you need money to live comfortably. In doing so you give up a few things depending on where you are at in the economic ladder. If you are poor and want to acheive wealth, you sacrifice time and in some cases sanity. If you are around the middle class you give up the pursuit of happiness. And the big dogs, they give up everything. Now when i say we give up something i dont mean material things. Metaphysical and mental ideas are lost and gained upon everyones path in life but those who end up the richest have the least. Empathy is the main factor in why our society is the way it is. We focus all our production on numbers and little on us, humans. Not only that but slavery has been here for a very long time. Only now it is so advanced we fail to notice it.

    • @GatheringStorrm
      @GatheringStorrm 8 років тому +7

      ***** I guess that's why we need more comments like these - to show people a way out of the cave.
      I live in Australia and it isn't much better, the "Vocational Education" system I went through put huge amounts of pressure on us to get jobs and do work experience and think about career paths when we were only 15. And now they've come up with this "STEM" crisis that spotlights technology courses and leaves the humanities in the dark. I talked to my friends about it (sounds like an exaggeration but it isn't, sadly) and they're pro-capitalist and can't see any larger meaning to life than getting not a well-fitting job but a high-paying job and making money. It's really sad. And they can't be talked out of it, you know, because who'd deny the education system? Just have to hope they come across an "awakening experience" sometime soon.

I also want to share my opinion to you , the idea of being wealthy or financially independent is not only about buying a bigger house or a nicer car , for some individuals it is , but for other individuals like me , you dont want to just buy all the houses or all the cars , its all about your circumstances that happens in your life because of the financial level that you are in right now , since the day i was born , every problem or every argument my parents had together is all about money , so you get to a point where you become furious about not having money or problems that happens because of the lack of money, you become crazy when you hear something that evolves money , so you will want to be financially independent so that you will never have any kind of problem because of the lack of money, and till this day , of i hear anything or any problem that i can't solve because i have no money , i will get so much angry and mad , and you might hurt yourself because of that , so the only way to prevent this from happening is to be financially free and independent, and you will never have any issues because of it , and it will help through alot of things. Thats my opinion because i lived that life . Thank you ❤

    Har har mahadev🙏. The end goal they force down our throats has no end, it's a vicious cycle.
    The true end goal of a human being is to realise the meaning of life and truths of the world. Then and only then will a person be able to achieve oneness with Brahmand and attain Moksha.

    3:45 Instead of thinking about how much money can I gain, how much of a large house can I have; the actual ideal is to think about how much money that I need, so that I can do whatever it is that I am passionate about.

    I really like this video, and I greatly respect this speaker. I would like to contribute my own positions and thoughts on some of these points. I am warning you, the reader, before you click "Expand this comment >>" that brevity is not my forte, and I have many thoughts on this.
    The short version is that we should, indeed, question our spending and not constantly strive to acquire ever more stuff for its own sake, but to only acquire, as the speaker put it, what we truly need to accomplish what is really important. For me, personally, the freedom and security of retirement is what is truly important to me, financially.
    I think that it is a very good idea to question the impetus to constantly consume and acquire, which can certainly be, as the speaker said, "addictive". That said, I am, by no means, suggesting that people should live in a completely minimalist society, eschewing all but the essentials. Rather, I am merely suggesting that people should seriously consider the value of something before they buy it and ask themselves whether or not they can get that same value in a more efficient way.
    *Saving*
    I recently became aware of a financial columnist called "Mr. Money Moustache", and he has a unique story of financial freedom. He and his wife both earned incomes he described as above average, but not Wall Street or lawyer level salaries. Their careers in the corporate world lasted only 9 years. Over that time, they saved about half of their take-home pay, and then after only 9 years, they retired to start a family.
    Saving half of one's take-home pay seems impossible for most, and it almost certainly is impossible for people who are really struggling in and around the poverty level. However, there are many professionals earning more money than they need, but who are spending it so fast, they feel they need millions of dollars to be able to retire.
    For such people, Mr. Moustache says it is a matter of examining what you are buying and questioning it. For example, you want to go see a movie. Why? Do you really need the theater experience, or do you just want to have an entertaining time with your friends? If it is the latter, couldn't you play a game at one of your homes? That is a short-term kind of substitution.
    A longer-term substitution would be like questioning your use of your car. It adds to the odometer and consumes gasoline. Why do you use it every day? Is your workplace close enough that you might be able to bike there? If not, could you consider moving to a home that IS closer? This kind of substitution works on multiple levels. It is better for the environment, better for you financially, and better for your health, which translates into more financial savings in the long term.
    As Mr. Moustache says, he still indulges in some things he does not really need, but does really want, but ONLY in things he REALLY wants. He says he never sacrifices quality of life for money, and even then, there are plenty of opportunities for saving.
    *Retirement*
    When you learn to live on less, you naturally need less money to retire, and assuming your income continues in at the same rate as before, you are able to contribute more of it to retirement. Thus, you approach retirement doubly faster because not only are you moving more quickly toward the "finish line", but the finish line has been moved closer to you!
    The way I see it, retirement is not just the time I can stop working forever and enjoy my luxurious toys. Rather, retirement is the time I am FREE... to do what I WANT... any old time! ;) Seriously, though, it does not mean never working another day in my life. It means never HAVING to work a job I do not enjoy. It means never WORRYING that I am not going to have enough money to pay my most basic expenses. I can AND SHOULD continue to work so that I can produce something of value for society, but if I ever feel that I am not being appreciated by my employer or that my job is NOT good for society, and I can just give my two weeks' notice and leave, confident in the knowledge that I don't need that job or any job.
    Ultimately, retirement is the time I can focus on doing what makes me happy, what makes those I love happy, and what feels to me like a good thing to do, without stress or fear.
    *Conclusion*
    Ultimately, this is what TRUE economic theory is SUPPOSED to be! It is NOT supposed to be about infinite consumption and acquisition for its own sake. It is supposed to be about utilizing the scarce resources you have to maximize your "utility" (happiness). If buying a new car is the happiest you can make yourself with the money it costs, then buy it! But think carefully about it first. The important thing is to be aware of what you TRULY want, and what will REALLY make you happy!
