      @@grieshma634 Time is a factor of any N dimensional space, it can be factored in or out of it. It is in itself a dimension, but it is not a dimension of space directly... You can describe spatial dimensions without any notion of time! It isn't until you involve the use of mechanics, motion or transformations that time becomes a factor.

      Mathematics, specifically polynomial progression through integration!
      Let's consider 1D space as being 2 distinct points that gives us a line segment that in itself is a vector with a length or magnitude defined by the distance between those 2 points. This gives us 1D space and is equivalent to being linear or having linearity. For example, y = mx+b is the slope-intercept form of a line. If we ignore the slope and the y-intercept we simply have y=x. This is the identity equation. For example: -1 = -1, 0 = 0, 1 = 1. Also this line is a bisector to the XY plane. It has a slope of 1 which is also a 45 degree or PI/4 radian angle that is between the line y=x and the x-axis. We can take this equation and turn it into a function as such: f(x) = x. Here x has an exponent value of 1. The exponent itself for this polynomial represents which dimension we are in, and and how many coordinate attributes there are. I didn't say coordinate components since there are 2 points and each point can have any number of coordinate positions. However, the length itself has a single attribute defined by X its magnitude.
      Okay let's integrate f(x) = x. We end up with F(x) = (1/2)x^2. We can omit the constant factor in front of our x value since it is irrelevant to this progression. So we can treat this as simply being f(x) = x^2, This time around the exponent is a value of 2, the input is the length of one side and the output is the area giving us a 2D spatial object and in this case for all values that are > 0, this represents all the possible combinations of positive length x to its area defined as x^2 giving us a continuous function that is a representation of all squares.
      If we continue this progression of integration by increasing our exponent to the polynomial by 1 each time we can build this table of relationships...
      0D = x^0, zero vector, arbitrary points
      1D = x^1, unit vector, length, linearity
      2D = x^2, planar regions, geometrical shapes with an enclosed defined areas, quadratics, and rotations.
      3D = x^3, volumetric regions, solids, volumes.
      4D = x^4, hyper volumetric regions, hyper solids, hyper volumes...
      ...
      ND where N approaches infinity: ND approximates to a perfect hyper spherical volume (not the same as a hyper sphere in 4D). Just as you increase the number of sides in a given polygon as the number of sides N approaches infinity the polygon converges or approximates to a perfect circle, within higher dimensional spaces, as the order of exponent within the polynomial increases and approaches infinity, its hyper volumetric regions will converge or approximate to a perfect spherical volume. What will truly blow your mind away is this... when N reaches infinity (which it never will) but at infinity space wraps back around onto itself starting back at 0D...
      How does or can this happen? Well let's consider some properties of our linear equations along with some fundamentals of Trigonometry. Let's go back to the slope-intercept form of a given linear equation: y = mx+b. For this we are going to fix all lines to intersect the origin (0,0) for simplicity. The focus here is on the slope defined by m as being rise/run. There is a simply formula to evaluate the slope from any 2 coordinate points that belong to this line: m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1) which is the difference in the change of y over the difference in the change of x. We can rewrite this as being deltaY/deltaX or simply dy/dx. Hmm doesn't dy/dx look familiar? You'll see it all throughout calculus! Okay, so how does the trigonometric functions and properties come into play?
      It's quite simple. The change in height or y is sin(t) where t is the angle between the line y=mx+b and the x-axis and the change in length or x is cos(t) again where t is the angle between the line y = mx+b and the x-axis. We can then rewrite this as being sin(t)/cos(t) and through trig substitutions and or identities we can rewrite this as simply being tan(t).
      Now we can take the slope-intercept form of the line and express it as the following: y = tan(t)x + b. To prove this let's use the same simple form of the identity equation y=x or f(x) = x. Here we know that b = 0 because it intersects both the x and y axis at 0 as it passes through the origin (0,0). We know that the slope is 1. Since both the x and y axis are perpendicular or orthogonal to each other we know that they are at 90 degrees or PI/2 radians from each other. Since the line y=x bisects this angle we know that theta or t is 45 degrees or PI/4 radians. If we take the form f(x) = tan(t)x + b and use our trig substitutions we can write it in its expanded form: f(x) = sin(t)/cos(t)x + b. Where sin(t)/cos(t) is its slope and b = 0. Here we know that sin(45)/cos(45) = 1 because both the sine and cosine are equivalent at 45 degrees!
      So what does this have to do with space wrapping back onto itself as its dimensionality converges at infinity bringing us back to 0D space? Well, it is no different than the behavior of the trigonometric functions specifically the tangent function as we begin to rotate around the unit circle.
      When we have a horizontal line it will have a slope of 0. This means that there is constant change in the horizontal direction or within x while there is no displacement in the vertical direction or within y. We can use the fraction 0/n to represent the slope of all horizontal lines, and to make things simple, we can set n = 1 since 1 is the unit vector since 0 divided by anything is 0. Also, for any angle t that is the range of 0 < t < 45 degrees the slope is then a fractional part where the numerator or sin(t) < the denominator or cos(t). When t equals 45 degrees the slope is 1 because sin(t) = cos(t).
      Now let's observe what happens when our angles increase above 45 degrees... As we approach 90 degrees the opposite is now true, our numerator or sin(t) is now > the denominator or cos(t). So for any angle in the range of 45 < t < 90 we will have either a integer whole value or an improper fraction defined as A/B where A > B and B > 0. So what happens when the angle t becomes 90 degrees?
      (continued...)

The two colored boxes rotated in the four dimentional field followed by the presentation from Brown University (5:23) did it for me. The way I like to think of the 4th dimension is the rotation between a modular experience and the experience intertwining; creating a reality and sub reality which are always intertwined. An example Of this in reality is when you see something in a dream then experience an aspect of the dream appear in real life. It’s a dialectric circuit which keeps itself in circulation (like a heartbeat). What one thinks one feels and what one feels one thinks and the basis of this creates your modular reality. Experiencing yourself outside of yourself then experiencing the model inside. This is why a tesseract shape is also conjunction with space travel and aliens; because it is another being (the model) entering into the plane of another being (the reality). This is why the 4th dimension is not necessarily seen but is happening at all times

    The 3rd dimension can be thought of as only a tangent to the 4th dimension, whether as an atomic orbital or 90 billion cubic light years.
    Likewise, the 2nd dimension can be tangential to the 3rd dimension, transecting the latter within any planar shape.
    Following in kind, the 1st dimension can be a tangent to the 2nd along any form or length of line.
    Finally, the 'zeroth' dimension, only a point or singularity, can be tangent to a line only at a singular location.
    Each inferior dimension is the 'moment' of the superior dimensionality. Therefore, any length of time is in tangent, as a mere moment within the 5th dimension. Etc., etc.

    Trippy how some biblical angels are described as basically rotating inside themselves. (Wings and eyes in every direction, hard to look at) sounds like a possible description of a person rotated on all sides.
    Or how language has us using visual analogies (involving space) to describe so many things (rent going up ; Christmas is coming up ; moving forward ; arguments going in circles)
    Now, if you're someone who believes your words are a power that shape your reality. I want you to think about this. And take some mythology into consideration--the tower of babble fell when our languages got jumbled up. Could this be a poetic tale of when we started speaking... measurements?
    So theory, we could perceive the 4th dimension at one point in history. This would explain an uncomfortable amount of the obscurity in old religious text.
    Food for thought.

Since we can only view it in 3d space we need indicators signifying where on a 4d object or plane of existence we are looking at it. I've seen some use music notes (do re me fa so la te Do) to coordinate points. I think it's worth exploring refined visualizations with orientation. The red and green 3d cubes was helpful, but we need more for the 4d visualizer than 2 colors.

    Finally, a video explaining the 4th. dimension with/while showing & explaining 0D 1D 2D 3D and their relevance to each and their perspectives. after going Back multiple times over and over watching parts to let it really sink in, I have a greater grasp, understanding Now "(I'm not stuck anymore") and ready to move on and study to learn more if my mind is ready..? after watching this video, I believe I am better equipped to do so, Thank YOU sooo much Carlos Farias.! I have Subscribed, WelderX

    I do admire whoever thought of and wrote the code for the animation, although I wish that the video was run much slower to capture the turning points in the animation, but it is much easier to conceptualize higher dimensions algebraically. It may suffice to accept the definition of a dimension as additional freedom of movement. If we live in singularity, we are not allow to move at all. That is zero dimension. If we live in a line, we are allowed to move back and forth on that line. That is one dimension. If we live in a plane, we are allowed to move in any direction on the plane, but not over or below the plane. That is two dimensions. If we live in a cube, we are allowed to move in any plane within the cube and above or below the plane. That is three dimensions. If we live in a hyper cube, whatever that is, we are allowed to move in any direction within the cube, but also within an additional direction, but this time the direction is visibly inseparable from the cube. This might be thought of as another secret tunnel that is not part of the geometry of the cube. A good example to that would be the world of dreams. Our conscious mind is not bound to the cube, but to worlds of another reality. Einstein said time could be thought of as that 4th dimension, but it is very hard to imagine an object that travels in space with zero time. Even light is capped at 300,000 km/s. Some people contend that time stops at the speed of light. That is not accurate because light takes real time to travel in space albeit very tiny over non-astronomical distance. Great presentation and thanks.

    I regret that I did not find advanced theoretical math as a younger man. My career path may been much different.
    Great video!

    I like how you made a song for the 4th dimension at the intro

      Glad you like the song, Rigel! But I can't take credit, it's a short snippet from the main theme for the film (or set of 3 short films) "The Fourth Dimension". The full movie can be found on UA-cam and the song's here: ua-cam.com/video/WCv6Grt_uG0/v-deo.html

    The Flatland analogy and examples here actually show a 3D perspective of either depth of slices where there wouldn't be any depth, or of an aerial view which no 2D observer could have. People are thinking of thin 3D and calling 2D.

    Lots of 4D concepts being used in various fields, such as HealthCare. Latest Diagnostic Imaging software is able to create a 4D model using a series of 2D pictures (slices) of an object. The system is storing a series of photos rather than a massive file, the final image is rendered on the fly into a 3D object. Thus, a Physician can rotate in and around a 3D object from a 4D viewpoint to really see if it is a Tumor or just a smudge on the camera lens. From the IT side, it has some serious computing power applications.

    Great information in ur content! We've seen many copy/paste bots shred thru unrelated medias and compile a collage of trash.
    Ur channel is different. It has easily accessible terms for people of all ages, even through the more complicated maths and geometry. I can finally visualize what all the fighting was over in that first Avengers movie from 100 Marvel movies ago. Keep up the good work!

    Imagine looking at a cave in 4d youd probably see trails of creatures with the most common ones being fully visible and less common looking slightly translucent, then if you seal the cave entrance those 4d trails start to disappear as the possibility of a creature coming in the cave reaches zero. So basically with your 4th dimensional perspective things closer to you in time are more clear, where with eyes things closer in space are more clear, if you didn't have eye or senses youd be closer to the 2nd dimension, where something has to touch you in order to relay the info. Each dimension is essentially how good you are at using universal phenomenon to your advantage, like light, feeling, thinking, everything about our life reinforces our ability to do so and allows us to climb the ladder of experience

    In fact I think we have more worlds and dimensions, this life that we live is one dimension in a series of dimensions and the universe is so large that we can't even imagine.
