I bought a Silhouette Cameo 4 a week ago. I made my design on Adobe Illustrator and directly sent it to the printer. I also made the shape for the cut on Adobe Illustrator, exported it as svg and imported same onto the silhouette studio (business edition). After cutting through the Cameo, result was not perfect 😢 Today I came across this superb video and the explanation was simple, direct & clear. Hats off to you lady ! I will make another test soon 😅

I love how you explained everything in this video! It helped me troubleshoot an issue I was having with the bottom left registration mark not printing entirely. It was only printing the vertical line, but I adjusted my inset and that did the trick for me!

This video was very helpful to me. We just switched from a Cricut to the Cameo Pro 4 and also just bought another Epson 15000 ET to do eco solvent. For the life of me this weekend we could not get the material cut perfectly, luckily for me the design did look already with the extra white on it. This was very helpful and I just cut out a new shirt design almost near perfect. Thank you so much!
This video is a life saver! I am brand new to the cameo world and I just purchased the Cameo 4 plus.. my sons first request was a print & cut shirt of all the puppies we have had. I tried for hours and I could not get it to register my marks. It missed everytime.. i watched several videos and no one ever mentions any of the things to look out for if its not working, all the videos did all extra things and not the few simple steps that you went over..i was getting discouraged already and this helped so much.. THANKYOU SO VERY MUCH ❤️ as I am sure it was the lighting now that I know that.. I will try again tomorrow and follow your steps! 😊
THANK YOU!!! i have been going crazy to try to get my cameo to register correctly. I looked at SEVERAL different tutorials and still could not get the darn thing correct and just subsided to cutting the decals by hand, but after watching your tutorial i FINALLY got it to work, i figured out what the problem was... TOO much light, I closed the lid and BAM! Perfect cut. I have a lot of light in my studio and i was using a glossy printable vinyl and it was just too much for it.

The cutter cut/drug across the page so a couple of the stickers are cut in half. I will search your videos and see if anything addresses that issue. Thank you again so much for the detailed video.
You are so welcome! Im glad it helped. I unfortunately dont have a video on that, but it may have just been a software glitch. I would suggest shutting everything down for a while, restarting your PC and trying again :) I would also suggest using the same page again so you dont waste more materials! Just keep careful note of what it does at the end (maybe tape over the cut to see if it cuts the tape)

Cricut has been driving me crazy with not wanting to cut any material, no matter what blade or settings i choose. I was so happy to find this video. I am trying to print and cut a full page of words on my Cameo 4 and even though I used Print Bleed the cuts are off. Now I'm starting to wonder if I need to convert the text to objects to make this Print Bleed work, so I will play around with that. Your video is very professional and you give very clear instructions. Thank you!
Perfect, indepth tutorial that explained way more than the other 2k tutorials I've watched today to try and get my first print and cut to work. The key point was not just saying, 'set your page size to this...' but to explain that, depending on where you are in the world i.e. I'm in the uk, you need to actually set it to the exact paper you are using. This may seem logical but there are many times when your told, 'I know your using xyz but if you set it to zyx it will work better'. Thank you, now let's see if I can get the registration marks to be detected correctly!!

Hi! thank you so much for this video very very helpful!!! I was passing 2 days trying to figure out why my new cameo plus didn't cut and print well. So all the issue was on the registration marks! "be sure to print exactly the same that you see on your computer" when you said this I realized what was going on!!!
What I like to do with regards to the Print Bleed is, using the offset as you've shown. However, I search for (or create) a repeating pattern background that fits the motive. White corners are very boring and the print bleed is really nice if you don't want clear borders, but more often then not I tend towards a border looking better. And when the border is nice pattern, that looks really nice! You're not cutting the background of course, that's just for the print. I've printed some unicorn stickers for my mom and used a pink background with a heart pattern as the background. The unicorns look amazing with that border!

Thank you so much Rosa! This most likely has to do with your printer unfortunately, as your print border can only be as big as your printer is able to print. I would suggest looking through your printer settings to see if you can increase it somehow - But I also dont think this is possible :(

This may be a silly question however how do you just cut the last star on the sheet and not the top image like you suggested. I am completely new to Silhouette however so far I am loving it!
If you have everything ungrouped, you can select all of the designs, select no cut, then only select the one you want to cut, and turn the cut lines on :)

I could listen to you talk all day. Your accent is so nostalgic. miss SA so much. I just got myself a cameo 4. Cricut has been driving me crazy with not wanting to cut any material, no matter what blade or settings i choose. I hope you have reccommendations on how to fixed that but i am looking forage to learning how to use my silhouette. It is so though. intimidating
Aw thank you so much! Im more on the Cricut side of things now - if your Cricut is still under warranty then try calling member care, otherwise the machine might be faulty xx

I was so happy to find this video. I am trying to print and cut a full page of words on my Cameo 4 and even though I used Print Bleed the cuts are off. Now I'm starting to wonder if I need to convert the text to objects to make this Print Bleed work, so I will play around with that. Your video is very professional and you give very clear instructions. Thank you!

Perfect, indepth tutorial that explained way more than the other 2k tutorials I've watched today to try and get my first print and cut to work. The key point was not just saying, 'set your page size to this...' but to explain that, depending on where you are in the world i.e. I'm in the uk, you need to actually set it to the exact paper you are using. This may seem logical but there are many times when your told, 'I know your using xyz but if you set it to zyx it will work better'. Thank you, now let's see if I can get the registration marks to be detected correctly!!

Hi! thank you so much for this video very very helpful!!! I was passing 2 days trying to figure out why my new cameo plus didn't cut and print well. So all the issue was on the registration marks! "be sure to print exactly the same that you see on your computer" when you said this I realized what was going on!!!

Hi Qaasim! You can deselect the cut lines on everything, and only turn on the cut lines for the one heart at the bottom right :)

What I like to do with regards to the Print Bleed is, using the offset as you've shown. However, I search for (or create) a repeating pattern background that fits the motive. White corners are very boring and the print bleed is really nice if you don't want clear borders, but more often then not I tend towards a border looking better. And when the border is nice pattern, that looks really nice!
You're not cutting the background of course, that's just for the print. I've printed some unicorn stickers for my mom and used a pink background with a heart pattern as the background. The unicorns look amazing with that border!

@@KellyRossouw both attempts were a complete fail, and then I removed the adhesive from my cutting mat haha, all in a successful day's learning :P but thanks to your video I know what things to try next to get a useable result :)

The tutorial was great! Please do more. My print border and cut border are very separated from each other. Can you do a tutorial on how to adjust this.
Thank you so much Rosa! This most likely has to do with your printer unfortunately, as your print border can only be as big as your printer is able to print. I would suggest looking through your printer settings to see if you can increase it somehow - But I also dont think this is possible :(

This may be a silly question however how do you just cut the last star on the sheet and not the top image like you suggested. I am completely new to Silhouette however so far I am loving it!
If you have everything ungrouped, you can select all of the designs, select no cut, then only select the one you want to cut, and turn the cut lines on :)

Thank you so much for this very detailed tutorial. I just did my first print and cut! My only question is...when I print my image, the red line around it is also printed and visible in the cutout, using the print bleed on and off. How do I get that to not print?
Hi Sharlene, the redline has a "weight" to it, the line width should be set to 0.0 and then it wont be visible :)
