      1) Turbulence may have started while that person was in the toiler.
      2) The person was about to shite themselves and it's better to uncomfortably do your thing in the toilet instead of stinking the whole plane.
      3) Some planes have shaky back part, meaning if the front of the plane is slightly shaky and pilots decide it's not needed to switch the seat-belt signs in, the ground in the back toilets might be very-very shaky.
      But yeah, it's so good we have such reasonable individuals as yourself.

      Guys, it's a 737 landing, not a 152. He's probably flying 150 kias. Definitely has a significant crab. If you want to see a 30 degree crab, look up some of those crosswind approaches in the UK, where crosswind is 50 kts. I don't think this is maximum crosswind for the 73, though.

    • @BoomerKeith1
      @BoomerKeith1 4 роки тому +2

      Left crosswind, and gusty. Clearly crabbed at the start of the video. Although, I'd say it's more of a gust than cross wind, but even just prior to touchdown you can see that he's still fighting the crosswind.

    God damn it man. All you people need a raise. You may think its nothing. I see it as extreme professionalism in a possible tragic situation.
    You do this everyday?
    Not for me. Thank you.

    The crabbing was barely a few degrees off center, so the crosswind was a lot less than 30Kt. But still, well-handled.

    No doubt there was a crosswind by looking at the MFD. But 30kts? Surely more of of a crab angle if that was the case? Very bumpy, though that's for sure. Wrestled her all the way down onto the tarmac! Really cool to see.

    I was once on a Saab340 with 50knot+ crosswinds coming into Glasgow airport! Even the pilots were crossing themselves! Scariest fucking thing I've ever experienced. Put me right off flying for life! Thanks Flybe😠 Asked the pilot if we landed or crashed at the end. We almost went off the side of the runway once we pile-drived into the runway.

    and straight down the centre line, I would be lucky to even get anywhere near the field and would have chucked it in well before a 1000 feet and gone to my alternate. Which is why these days I stick to my wingless terrain following aircraft also known as a motorcycle.
    On a side note if you are a pilot and ever get a chance to fly a 747 simulator, pay up whatever they are asking for an hour it will be worth it. They are the most astonishing aircraft ever built.
    I had a mate at a well know Australia airline who lined it up for me. After getting board with re enacting Speed Bird 9's glide I climbed back to 45k and put the aircraft into a corkscrew spin during which I had to fight the aircraft to make it happen and took three attempts and 10,000 feet to get going by 35k feet , I then just let go of the controls down to 25k feet and decided that I have better give myself some room.
    With absolutely no formal training in spin control or flying for that matter at that stage and knowing to be gentle enough not to tear the rudder off I just randomly moved the controls until I found something that worked, eliminated the spin pulled out of the dive by 15k feet with ease and went into a 6k FPM climb to wash off the over speed.
    The reason so few of them have crashed is because they don't want to in my 60 years they are the closest thing to a living machine that I have ever come across. BTW your can't get a 747 under Sydney harbor bridge there's enough room (175 feet) but the ground effect makes it impossible to get low enough fly the plane and do the math in your head if you still have room to move.
