The 737 Handbook - An Interactive Technical Guide For Pilots
Introducing the brand new version 2.0 of The 737 Handbook! The 737 Handbook is an interactive technical guide for pilots which provides a quick reference for sim or interview preparation from initial type rating to command upgrade. The app features interactive schematics, photos and videos with unique content.
The information is sorted in different levels from the most essential information on the page to in-depth information in pop-up windows. This enables you to choose the way you want to learn. Should you require a quick reference you can go through the main text in the chapter. Should you, however, wish to explore the systems more in-depth you can do so by opening different pop-up windows, text and playing around with fully interactive schematics. Try it out yourself!

Constructing the 737 MAX PFD for The 737 Handbook
Переглядів 1,1 тис.4 роки тому
This is a timelapse of my workflow in Affinity Designer. I took a vector graphic from my previous projects and redesigned it for The 737 MAX PFD display. All of the graphic design in The 737 Handbook I created myself, this allows me to modify it for other diagrams, schematics and interactive simulations. What videos would you like to see next?
737 Minimum Speed Protection
Переглядів 11 тис.4 роки тому
In this video, you will see Autothrottle (A/T) Minimum Speed Protection in action. The A/T adds thrust in low-speed regime to "protect" the aircraft from stalling. It is important to note that this will create a pitch up moment and needs to be counteracted to avoid stalling.

    This reminds me of flying into Maui Hawaii. It was always very turbulent the airport situated between two mountain ridges. It was like that every time I flew there.

    I recall an SAT flight from NBO on which I was a mechanic. The crew were told that there was an obstruction on the runway when we were on finals, it turned out to be a mortar that had left a small hole in the runway so the pilot just made sure he got down on the keys and taxied around it. Mog was always hairy especially when the snipers were taking pot shots from the overlooking buildings. motivation for this captain was likely that he was paying for the fuel.

    Pressure demand system. This system supplies oxygen under pressure slightly over-inflating the lungs and allows flight above 40,000ft. The overpressure lowers the lung in altitude so gas exchange occurs in the lung alveoli. Above 40,000ft 100% oxygen without pressurization would be insufficient!

    My CFI taught me this "360 on final maneuver" i i think 1999. We did then on C310 at 500 agl. Done in case of time limited. He said to do them with some flaps and good power, turn to down side of wind, so you will widen the turn and align with a headwind, not a tailwind. Never under 500 agl, or with a strong crosswind. But in this case they could not fly the miss approach due terrorist shooting at airplanes at end of runway area.

    Love the 727, but am old enough to remember one was ploughing in at the rate of 1 a month on average as they were difficult and touchy especially during descent and approach. Modern jetliners are more reliable and efficient and those who see the 727 with rose tinted glasses like me, spare a thought for its dodgy past.

    That is called "A 360 ON SHORT FINAL". Dont do it unless You are "A Hard Maneuvering Pilot". This is Not for "Mild Maneuvering Pilots". LOL. I learned them around 1999 on Cherokee 6.

    Yeah, that‘s badass! Breaking every rule and limits in modern aviation. How cool! With over 10000 hours on widebody I could pull that off as well, but standard missapproach procedures and limits of when to be stabilized on final track are there for a reason. Unbelievable stupid move to risk lifes for such cowboy trash…

    What happens if for some reason, a window breaks or a door is opened at 41000ft? Do they have to descend below 10000ft to keep the pressure in the control?

    • @coolblue1812
      @coolblue1812 7 місяців тому

      Yes. FAA Regulation 14 CFR FAR 25.841 Pressurized Cabins requires emergency descent within 17 seconds to prevent passengers and flight crews from hypoxia which is catastrophic leading to loss of consciousness, serious brain injury, even death.
