I would just cry into my pizza
hahaha oh my god
Same
Uahauhahah... definitely
Underrated comment 🤍
I just went and bought a pizza especially so I can do this
Wtf you just poured your heart out and they couldn't stop chatting or even acknowledge the brilliant playing. Wish I could sing like that
He wasn't there. It wasn't happening.
@@wybren That there, that wasn't him.
I mean this is a busy pizza parlor in SLC near the University. They didn’t go there to simply listen. He’s not phased by it.
2023 and this is still the best acoustic cover of HTDC on the internet. I come back to this video every few years and I love it every time. Legendary work, gentlemen.
I second that for sure
This video is beautiful; here he is singing about how he's not there, and no one's truly paying attention to him. He's just background noise to them.
thecolorofcolour god damn
It's our variation on Monty Python's "How Not to Be Seen." Turns out it's easier than you might think.
I know the feeling, covered this in a pub once using a loop pedal and a bunch of string samples. I think about 2 people in the room actually took any notice at all. Quite fitting really when you think about it;)
Should have been john cena's entrance music.
Holy shit, dude
Fucking hell, this is a good cover. The vocals tend to be the hardest part to get right, especially at the end where in the record Thom's voice hits that perfect pitch and it resonates in your head so well, giving it such a surreal feel. This does it just as well.
Hell, this is probably the only cover singer I know that can give Thom's vocalistic style any sort of justice.
The audio is sent via firewire from my mixer to my laptop and captured in multi-track and mixed separately. Glad you liked the results!
This is by far the BEST cover of this song I've ever heard. Gives me the chills everytime!!
agree!!!!
the look on Mike's face in the end when the crowd "applauds" breaks my heart....we feel you Mike, these people didn't deserve to be there
For a Public Defender and a District Attorney, there's very little justice in how underrated Mike and Jeff are.
Also, impeccable bass-playing.
I'll have this played at my funeral; Not just the song, but this very video and rendition of it. The emotion, pitch and expressive tonality is perfect. And, the audio is perfectly captured. I'll make sure there is acceptable equipment available to faithfully and accurately reproduce this. Please Mike, never delete or alter this video. I've saved a copy locally but still by the time this all happens, maybe UA-cam will still exist and others can find this as significant as I have.
Great voice brother AND I wish more people would use a bassist in acoustic settings. . . It really makes the sound a million times better.
Man that chord progression is one of the most beautiful sounding sounds I’ve ever heard in my life
Just amazing work by these two. Thank god there's UA-cam, because it would be a shame for performances like these to have been lost forever (esp. in front of such an apparently clueless audience).
That is called perfect voice.
Jeff and I are actually both quite capable keyboardists. We just don't have enough hands!
I never get tired of watching these guys perform. I don't think most of the locals understood what they had right there in their back yards. I would drive a long way to watch them perform. All of their covers are awesome, but check out Warning Sign and Tainted Love. Africa brought me to them, abut there was so much more to hear. They are truly amazing.
I keep coming to this wonderful cover for over 6 years and counting... amazing performance!
The amount of applause you guys received for this should be illegal. Fantastic job on the falsetto sustains at the end. Fantastic vocals overall and the bassist is super tight. Very impressed!
you guys should definitely do street spirit
They so deserve a better audience !!
That was beautiful !!
There are people that are "famous" that only have a shred of this talent.
True statement.
Not only the best radiohead cover, possibly the greatest cover of all time. 25,000 stars.
please tell me this guy is playing to larger non-pizza crowds since 2009.
Nope. The singer is a Public Defender and the bassist is a Deputy District Attorney. They've been playing there since the 1990's, the first Monday of every month. Mike, the singer, recently moved from SLC to the Denver area, quit his job and is now trying to focus on music full time. I hope he finds a lot of success because he is better than every musician, in every genre of music, that is currently signed to a record deal.
metalbornmetalbred He's good but no he isn't.
+metalbornmetalbred I absolutely agree!!! he is crazy amazing !!
Let's get em to LA
I mean he has a pretty successful UA-cam channel. You should check him out - his name is Mike Masse.
Great Bass player....
wtf people didn't applaud at the end? that was fucking AWESOME!!!!
I love you Mike. I love this cover. I love the bass. I'm going through pretty hard times, this song gives me strength.
Killed the falsetto at the end !
dude you got an amazing voice.. consider covering Reckoner!! OMG
I second this. I've been shouting on these video's for years for either Reckoner or Street Spirit.
Eoin Winters
Me too! That would be awesome =D
Couldn't agree more
reckoner please!
Perfect song if you ever feel dejected by being rejected.
Amazing Amazing Cover!
You have an amazing taste in music. Your choices for covers are the songs on my best playlist.
Mike Mike , wow , you guys sure are great man , I have been obsessed lately with that song , and here you are !, thank you.
Once again, ridiculously great cover, That bassline is mesmerizing.
THIS are real emotions. Thanks for putting your heart into this. Great artists.
a) I can't believe I've never seen this before
b) When it was done, I actually yelled at my TV "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE NOT CLAPPING FOR, ASSHOLES!"
Beautiful cover. Needle and the Damage Done is spectacular too.
YES Alex!!! I would have been whistling and shouting and clapping my ass off. Fabulous talent!!!
Dave Manson i can't believe the ignorant bastards that had the utter disrespect to not applaud and to just keep talking.
I love Mike's work, and I'm rooting for him and his family. Rock on, little Noah!!
I was completely expecting this to be the usual out of tune, unsynced with the rhythm cover but dude, this is fantastic
The most amazing song Radiohead has ever wrote, And the best rendition also 👍👍👍 Thom would be most proud
Incredible
One of the best covers ive ever seen
this song works so well with just the acoustic guitar and that great bass line
You guys are simply wonderful artists.
Definitely the best cover of this song I’ve found on UA-cam. Implacable.
THAT WAS AWESOME!
thanks
I think it's rather fitting that you don't get many applause, fit's the tone of the song. I would have been jumping up and down in joy.
This is by far one of the best covers of the song. The voice captured the real essence of the song unlike the others where they go for a more booming voice and hence do not do justice to the falsetto part. Amazing work guys!
This is spot on. After listening to quite a few of your covers now, I've gotta give Jeff some respect - this song wouldn't really fly without the bass to help both underpin it and decorate it too.
Here's to all the bass players ;)
that was so beautiful
I would not think you could pull this song off with only guitar and base, and no orchestra or tricks radiohead used in the original, and yet still evoke the same haunting feeling, but you did it somehow.
I keep playing this song over and over... lovely cover!
Beautifully, beautifully done. You can feel it through the soul.
Needs more ondes Martenot.
Jokes aside, this is just fantastic. I absolutely love these Radiohead covers.
I love this song, this cover, the pathos, & how the lyrics are spot on for the audience response - "I'm not here, this isn't happening". Sigh. I'll keep coming back though.
Guys I really hope you know that you really are the best covers act on YT. Some of us have been trawling through these pages for several years now and guys like you only come about once in a blue moon. Your grasp on contemporary music is awe inspiring and your vocal harmonies wedge themselves into people's memory. Quite why you guys have yet to break into the mass populous I find unbelievable but it must be a marketing thing, it's certainly not through lack of talent.
damn. I'm not a huge fan of covers but these guys did a very respectable job with this song. Well done
Literally every single one of their covers are flawless.
that was incredibly good guys... this is BY FAR the best cover of this song... u guys r so talented... luv the voice, luv the guitar, luv the bass... just perfect...
I break down whenever I hear this song. And this by far the best cover I've ever heard...
Bless Jeff's bass playing on this, really ties the cover together, everything is perfect, Mike you are amazing.
Always love your Radiohead Covers. A+++ Long time follower.
Nailed it. My favorite Radiohead song. You guys are awesome.
Love it
Wow. Just wow. You should be very proud guys. 👍🏼
Que gran cover...
Este hombre debería tener millones de suscriptores
I just watched this 83 times.
Wow!
My favorite Radiohead song performed by my new favorite cover artist! I can't get enough!!
The absolute greatest cover of my favorite Radiohead song. Well done gentlemen!!!!
Brilliant as usual. Thanks guys !
I've performed it in the past, but never recorded it. Maybe some day!
The vocal is awesome, these guys are really good
Just bought all your radiohead covers on iTunes. So good.
Kai Kai415 lol I did the same thing
The best cover of a song I’ve ever heard, bravo. 👏
beautiful, beautiful beautiful.
My pizza would be left stone cold on the table with my jaw on the floor
amazing!
Always love it when it comes to the G chord.
this is beyond comprehensible. awesome cover
That there, that's not me
I go where I please
I walk through walls
I float down the Liffey
I'm not here
This isn't happening
I'm not here, I'm not here
In a little while
I'll be gone
The moment's already passed
Yeah, it's gone
I'm not here
This isn't happening
I'm not here, I'm not here
Strobe lights and blown speakers
Fireworks and hurricanes
I'm not here
This isn't happening
I'm not here, I'm not here
BEST COVER EVER!!!!
Never heard this song b4 until 1 week ago, live in Dublin preformed by Mike. Amazing ❤
i can't stop listening to this
Beautiful.
So few covers of this song and this one is pure gold. Mike sounds almost like Thom.
simply.... AMAZING....
Rewatching this 5 years later and it still blows me away. I think it's better than the original.
a muse cover would be awesome! But seriously amazing job
F*ck! Now THAT'S a cover. Captured the melancholy perfectly. Great job!!
Excellent as are all of these Radiohead covers! Powerful vocals and Bass runs.
Refreshing to see talented musicians with good music tastes at the Pie
Flippin' beautiful.
From France: just "wouah", c'est fou. Just amazing, you 're great musicians.
I come back to this video on a regular basis ♥️♥️
Been here many times... So good.
One of the best covers I've heard of this song. Musically, it's fairly simple, but incredibly complex if done correctly and with the right emotion.
I think if i were to sing this song all the way through i wouldn't make it to the end. Props to you for singing the whole song perfectly hahahahaha
I sang along to them while playing the guitar and I burst into tears..I continued afterwards..I think it's my favourite song
A master through and through ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Mike for world king 👑
Cred to excellent bass playing on this song. He was in the pocket. And those long held notes were amazing, not easy.. loved it.
You kidding me with this performance? WOW. Thank you!
I love the bass on this song. So hauntingly brilliant.
Omg that voice
Wow he bought that home. Awesome job!
