Great review. I work in an office and carry a secondary knife to open boxes mostly. My three are tiny shirt pocket knives. Spyderco manbug in k390, Bestech tulip yellow with Sandvik and the kansept mini korvid orange g10 154cm. They all cut great. Keep a big knife in pocket.
I mostly carry small slipjoints, so most of these " secondary " knives are bigger and beefier than my primary knives. One of my all time favorites is the little Buck 305 lancer, compared to it these seem huge.
@@jeffreymliss I prefer the post '86 305's made by Buck over the earlier Camillus contract examples, but they're a great knife regardless. I currently have 3, a 1990 in Buckbone, a 1998 special edition in brown jigged bone, and a standard black valox from 2003. I also quite like it's cousin the model 705 poney, I prefer the 305 blades but the canoe like frame of the 700 series is nice and it makes the 705 worth owning. Interestingly enough I've never had a 2005+ post falls Buck 305, my first which I passed along was a pre '86 camillus contracted 305, then the other 3 are El Cajon made. Theres also the assembled I'm mexico examples they tried doing before deciding it was best to just move to a more business friendly state, I have no desire to own one of those.
Beautiful knives all around, I usually carry a Gerber dime as my secondary, but when I go out with a large 7" plus fixed blade i always clip on a small secondary knife to it or slip it into the pouch on the sheath. Prefer one with a finger choil just for a better fit, but some of the ones shown might make me reconsider the whole choil thing.
You covered a lot of knives in a short time & I liked that. Very taken with the Main Street & wow, that Vapor ! Like the Maleaha & probably the one I'll get as it is more in my price range.
The Maileah is dope and like I think mine was 27 bucks on white mountain knives with slicey dicey code SDWMK . Then the Kizer shard is 60 and the Main Street is 70 or so
Take a look at the QSP Penguin in D2 with blue denim Micarta! Sweet little knife. Light as a feather, Sharp as sin and fit and finish is excellent for a $30 knife!
The kershaw launch auto line of knives has been excellent for me 👍. Love the launch 1 , it’s a perfect auto , slim , has a cool comfortable design , snappy , cool looking scale design for a backspacer , it’s all black 😊. There’s so many designs and I thought the price for what we get bladesteel wise is really good . Still , it’s hard to beat some fo the examples shown . Especially the little spidercos
Hey I know this is an older video… And I watch your stuff all the time. Just thought I’d ask you a preference question. Looking to get a fifth pack carry at this time what do you recommend something under 70 bucks? Thoughts?
Really liked the video. What was the TwoSun that you were going to put the number on the screen?? That last one and McBee are just so small. Thanks for doing this am going to have to watch it again and write down the ones I want to look into.
For me the Dragonfly, the Maileah, and the Launch (4 or 10). My Dragonfly is in K390 not sexy San maI, but it holds an edge for, well so far months, in light duty.
Recently I've been enjoying small fixed blades for EDC, for me front cross draw carry just feels like it disappears until you need it, and frees up a pocket. That way I can get my phone easier, or carry a flashlight in my right hand pocket where a knife would go. If you want to carry two or more knives though, it's good for that too, you can have your pocket knife as usual plus a fixed blade. If I carry multiple knives I like them to be significantly different, suited for different tasks. I won't often carry two drop points for example, the second one will be a wharncliffe, tanto, or hawkbill, or maybe serrated. Different sizes can be useful too, sometimes you need a big blade but often a small one is more convenient and socially acceptable. I also usually have a small utility knife I can use for smaller tasks, abusive tasks, or as a loaner. No use dulling a nice knife on something dumb.
@@NeevesKnives That's indeed quite a difference haha! Although, if people didn't freak out when someone takes a knife out (France here) I'd probably sometimes carry a bit bigger ones. But 4" is still massive for my small hands 😅.
What is powdered D2? Is it a little more rust resistance? Thanks! I always learn something here! Btw, I finally got the pocket clip on my TS128 to work perfectly. I did take a bit of a chance of screwing something up when I was using the dremel tool to shave some of the material of the backside of the clip but I lucked up and took off the perfect amount. It works flawlessly now.
Thats awesome! Its nice when your work goes as planned, cpm d2 has better edge retention and strength im not sure about rust resistance though, thetes actually a few different forms of d2 that are called something else, but the stuff Medford used was cpm d2
I keep my pocket watch in the 5th pocket, but I carry a small pocket knife in my pocket - I don't use my front pockets except for the knife and a mini maglite, mainly because I am in a wheelchair.
Have you sharpened any of the Artisan/CJRB AR9 steel??? Have you watched Outpost 76 review of the AR9 where the steel would not debur during sharpening. HAVE YOU HAD THE SAME ISSUES, WHAT HAS YOUR SHARPENING EXPERIENCE BEEN WITH THE AR9 STEEL. THANK YOU for the information.
Yes i have seen and sharpened, i talked about it during a live, i had a video recorded talking all about my experience with a bunch of cutting that got deleted, so i have to make a new video now talking about it

Love the shard but have gone through 2 about to order another keep loosing this little guy but definitely getting the fire ant but I want that kizer cormorant first do thay make something a little bigger with that shard blade design

mon couteau secondaire est le pocket rocket Benchmade , je l'adore pour sa petite taille 👍
I always love carrying my CRKT M16 In the smallest variant with tanto blade because of the Auto-LAWKS feature making it such a sturdy small thing!!!
