'I terror your elf', no you terror his creature. 'Well, I burn you for 10 damage', no you burn yourself for 10 damage. I used aggravated assault with wirewood channeler to give me infinite mana. I realized just now that when I was kinda new to playing Magic, using a deck of cards I was borrowing from a friend, that I played against a guy who used Animate Library as a card in his normal deck. I had known about the silver border cards as a concept, but it never crossed my mind that it would have been one. While sure, it's not particularly difficult to take out, the numbers are very large, and shut down any large creatures your opponent may have. So uh, makes sense that it was a little unfair.
"Urza, Academy Headmaster" has some busted -6 abilities if you go to the website. Barren glory + Jokulhaups if no other player has an enchantment in play. there are silver cards that cost half a mana in their cost, and if you have something that doubles your mana you get 3 mana so it works to play with it.
You can also oblivion ring the barren glory and cast apocalypse which handles all permanents plus your hand. Also jokulhaups doesn't hit Planeswalkers.
Man I can’t believe the greater morphing can’t morph its name, which is like probably the one thing that could be useful and also add flavor. Because how can you perfectly morph into another card without changing your name
You can cycle Blast from the Past and pay the madness cost since cycling = discard. Result: 1RR instant. Draw a card, deal 2 damage to target. IIRC Buyback doesn’t work with Flashback.
43:31 there was actually an old ante card called Tempest Efreet that put cards from your opponents hand into your hand (and you permanently own that card)
Other than "ante cards" an effect will never put something into a non-owener's hand/library/graveyard: 400.3. If an object would go to any library, graveyard, or hand other than its owner’s, it goes to its owner’s corresponding zone
This is just one of those cards where it's an easy concept but it's just too complex to write in Magic jargon to make sense. My interpretation of it was that if it deals combat damage or "damage equal to its power" to a player, that player loses.
so if noone said this already the Urza academy headmaster actually has a pdf of the 20 effects that are assigned to each ability, so you can roll a physical die for it if you don't have access to the internet
@Nikachu MTG Live actually B-I-N-G-O does work basically every three rows adds up to +9/+9 so if you get all 8 rows after casting spells mana value 0-9 its a 73/73 with trample the issue is that you need to play 9 spells.
On the command zone youtube show they played commander with "viable" silver bordered cards like you're looking for here. I think Josh used baron von count as his commander.
I just can't stand the "is too wordy is not legal it's too open for interpretation" meanwhile every time he pulls out a card with that there is a express clarification that says its wordy only when they have 4 or more lines of rule text(meaning any non flavour text)
@NikachuMTGLive the sword of dnd is "The Sword of Dungeons & Dragons" from unstable 3 colorless equipment that equips for 2. Equipped creature gets +2+2 and pro cleric and rogue. When equipped creature deals damage to opposing player put a 4/4 gold dragon with flying, roll a d20, on a 20 repeat the process. Edit: guess you found it later
11:26 There's an enchantment where whenever a die is rolled, add its result to the counters on this card. When it has 100 counters, you win. Might be a lil broken for that if you have ways to keep it on the field. Just every die is a 5/6. Stack that with GO TO JAIL
not sure why its toughness cant be 3 and a half. lightning bolt deals it 3 then you still have to deal 1 more damage. what about a spell that halves the damage and your creature starts with 7 power for example
There is a very simple answer as to why wizards has never printed a card that lets you put cards from other people's decks into your hand and that is ownership claims. Assuming that both players are playing without sleeves and with cards with the same name there is no way to claim that the better condition copy is yours after they add it to their hand or library.
Hey 1 and a half mana works. If you can untap it the same turn you got 3 mana for 2 taps instead of a normal 2! Unspent mana is unspent mana. A half unspent wouldn't hurt anything. But 2 halves can make another. And lots of things that need a specific value are odd/even or rounded.
City of Ass could have "Tap: Add one colourless mana. Tap City of Ass and another Land you control named City of ass: Add three mana of any one colour". Or something. Would actually be 1.5 mana.
Imagine your opponent having a deck that spawns x/1 tokens and just making them make x/0 tokens...and thus keeping them from EVER producing a token (as they all spawn, have 0 toughness, and just goes straight to the graveyard.
"wordy is too open to interpretation" it literally says in reminder text what it means to be wordy... Ffs B-I-N-G-O would make sense if you took a single look at the card art Also "Ach! Hans, Run! It's the Tarmogoyf!" Is the flavor text that inspired the card
Look at Me, I'm the DCI could work. It could effectively work like Memoricide, except it hits the sideboard, the cards get exiled face-down, and they remain exiled for the remainder of the match. City of Ass could work as well. Make it a City of Brass that can add 3 mana by tapping 2 of them. Like a City of Brass/Cloudpost hybrid.

Wow! Never heard of this card before.
Other than "ante cards" an effect will never put something into a non-owener's hand/library/graveyard:
400.3. If an object would go to any library, graveyard, or hand other than its owner’s, it goes to its
owner’s corresponding zone
other thumb is a real ish card :
Barbarian Class same efect but iignore lowest
regarding wordy: reading the card explains the card
Rule 1 of mtg: "Reading the card explains the card"
Rule 1a: "except when it doesn't"
Can you imagine trying to figure out the order of triggers on the stack if someone plays "Incoming!"? Would be insane.
The problem with infinity elemental is that there are multiples infinities, you gotta choose one of those.
This is just one of those cards where it's an easy concept but it's just too complex to write in Magic jargon to make sense. My interpretation of it was that if it deals combat damage or "damage equal to its power" to a player, that player loses.
City of Ass is literally a play on "Imma tap dat ass".
11:08 alternate text: "If you would roll a die, roll it with Advantage."
so if noone said this already the Urza academy headmaster actually has a pdf of the 20 effects that are assigned to each ability, so you can roll a physical die for it if you don't have access to the internet
I've done that before, he's actually a lot of fun
I just can't stand the "is too wordy is not legal it's too open for interpretation" meanwhile every time he pulls out a card with that there is a express clarification that says its wordy only when they have 4 or more lines of rule text(meaning any non flavour text)
@NikachuMTGLive the sword of dnd is "The Sword of Dungeons & Dragons" from unstable
3 colorless equipment that equips for 2.
Equipped creature gets +2+2 and pro cleric and rogue.
When equipped creature deals damage to opposing player put a 4/4 gold dragon with flying, roll a d20, on a 20 repeat the process.
Edit: guess you found it later
11:26
There's an enchantment where whenever a die is rolled, add its result to the counters on this card.
The cheese stands alone is exactly the same as barren glory.
Technically, The Cheese Stands Alone lets you win right away. Barren Glory makes you wait until upkeep.
Grusilda monster masher was one that's a ton of fun that I was was not silver bordered
asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar
Does alot of work for "now i know my ABCs"
there is a card that's the same as The Cheese Stands Alone that isn't silverborder. It's called Barren Glory
There is a very simple answer as to why wizards has never printed a card that lets you put cards from other people's decks into your hand and that is ownership claims. Assuming that both players are playing without sleeves and with cards with the same name there is no way to claim that the better condition copy is yours after they add it to their hand or library.
36:51 OMG that's where the AI cards get their desire to destroy target player!
City of Ass in combination with More or Less "Add one and a one-half mana of any 2 colors to your mana pool"
Cheese stand alone, Armageddon, One with nothing
"what even is a 'Wordy spell'!?" *doesn't read the reminder text that explicitly defines Wordy spells*
Garbage Elemental should be legal, because its clearly defines “wordy creatures”
Yoda be like "Because six seven eight"
Wordy has reminder text for how long it has to be. It works.
City of Ass was made to make Little Girl (from the same set) playable.
You could make Mox Lotus work if you simply changed it to "0: add one mana to your mana pool" and make it not tap.
4:30 Why are you showing us a random YUGIOH card?
Why does he keep refusing to read the goddamn card!? "What is wordy? Let me complain some more while I ignore everything else here."
Watched for an hour waiting for Burning Cinder Fury of Crimson Chaos Fire, it never showed :(
You had to be part of the show that day!
My face when omnipotence is a card, and just lets you cast everything for free.
"wordy is too open to interpretation" it literally says in reminder text what it means to be wordy... Ffs
B-I-N-G-O would make sense if you took a single look at the card art
Also "Ach!
